Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Boomingham goes first and rolls a Four, Mac rolls a Six. Boomingham hands 20 gold over to Mac. "Wanna try again? Or anyone else, it's a neat little trinket, helped me out in a few pinches." Quote
Zepher Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 "Tell you what. I'll give you another 20 gold if I can just have it? That's a pretty tidy profit for a telescope." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 "Nah, I'd prefer to wager it. Besides, I said like a telescope, you'll find it's use is quite different." Quote
Zepher Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Boomingham sighed. "Alright, another round it is then. Chances are my luck will turn around sooner or later. Hopefully sooner." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Boomingham rolls again, and he rolls a Five, hard to beat. But sure enough, Mac rolls a Six. Boomingham again pays Mac 20 gold. "Again?" I have the screenshots to prove it! Quote
Zepher Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 "Alright, let's go again. I've sunk enough gold into this at this point I ought to finish it out." Quote
CMP Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Atramor, unlike most of the others, seemed entirely at ease with the ship. He bit into a chunk of bread, standing motionlessly near the front of the ship and staring off into the distance, where they were headed. He was immensely relieved to see the storm had blown over, but as Bob had explained, was also concerned about pirates or, worse, slavers. Then again, he had a decent party, and they were on a ship full of guardsmen. As long as they didn't have ballista or explosives...rarer weapons, but destructive in ship-to-ship combat. "Love to see what this'd do...." he chuckled darkly to himself, glancing into his cloak at the Bomb XX. A smaller bit of bread was being devoured by McCafferey on the railing. He glanced at the chicken, shuffling away several feet before pulling Ratsbane from his belt, slicing off a pair of dreadlocks. Personal enough, and each as equal as the other. "Fury of the sea, part before me," he mumbled, tossing the first into the ocean. "Mercy of the sea, take pity." And away went the second. "O' lords Ebb and Tide, of the seas we ride, we'll sail by your breath, or find naught but death..." Shaking his head, he walked over to to Jacob and Christian, nodding towards the fishing poles they held. "Good fishin' out here?" Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Skrall trods over to the gentleman with the dark gray hair to see if he was willing to chat. "Afternoon good sir, ya fella's make this voyage often or do ya gentleman stick to safer waters?" Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Boomingham rolls a Three, but Mac rolls a One! Mac grumbles and removes the Monocle, revealing a perfectly healthy eye. Boomingham gets: Marksman's Monocle (Artifact: Headwear: User can't miss, all misses (Aim, Meditate etc.) are rerolled.) "If any of you want to gamble for money, just say so..." Atramor walks up to Jacob and Christian: "Uhhh" "Err" Skrall talks to the man at the railing: "Ahoy, greenskin, err no offence, Ogre. Sir. I've been sailing these waters for around 30 years now, but would you believe I've never docked at Strivvi? Blonde haired fellow, Ignacio has. I myself prefer to stick to safer waters, that's rightly so. If the gods want it, ain't it!" Quote
Zepher Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Boomingham shoves the monocle into one of his pockets. "I'll save that for later, it's been a pleasure Mac." Boomingham makes his way over to the fishing, chuckling as he overhears the sailor calling Skrall a 'green-skin'. "How's the fishing scene going, Atramor? Exciting?" Quote

Skrall chuckles, "No offense taken my good man, though if ya try and run a dagger through me, we'll be havin' words. 30 years ya say? Ya must have seen quite a bit of action, were all those put in on the Armory? What are yer thoughts on the dear Captain?" Edited September 2, 2012 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 The two fishing men turn to each other, and can be heard saying: "Say, Isn't that...?" "I'm pretty sure he is." "Well, I'll be damned." "Indeed." Skrall chuckles, "No offense taken my good man, though if ya try and run a dagger through me, we'll be havin' words. 30 years ya say? Ya must have seen quite a bit of action, were all those put in on the Armory? What are yer thoughts on the dear Captain?" "No, no, I only recently got assigned to the Armoury, and I'm glad that that happened. Captain Lorenzo runs a different kind of ship than most other Bonaparte vessels. Helps that the Armoury is a trading vessel, it does. I think the Captain is a damn fine sailor, seen him at the wheel in a storm, it's a sight for sore eyes it is. He is a bit odd, don't think he is from Eubric, but he is a fine man, I'd say." Quote
CMP Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 "That's...not the word I would use...." Atramor blinked, and glanced towards the man Skrall was talking to. He was familiar as well. There was something off about all of this. He turned to Bob, frowning deeply. "The second the captain's ready, I wanna see him." He returned his eyes to Jacob and Christian, now locked in a near-glare. "What the hell are you two doin' here?" Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 "Damn, do you think he's recognized us?" "Probably" The two do their best to casually turn to Atramor. "So... How's it going?" "Don't think that's going to work, let's just tell him." "Fine. We got kicked out of the Paladin Order. So we became sailors. There." Quote
Zepher Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Boomingham listens to the conversation. Atramor clearly knows the fellows, so he allows his party-mate to do the talking. "Did you now? Sorry to hear that, my once-upon-a-time brothers. I actually have a few questions about the whole Paladin Order thing. Should I report into someone at some point to tell them that I'm a Paladin? My angel has been bopping around, so I don't have doubts about that... but, you know, like the physical earthly side, should I tell some High Priest or something that I'm on board? Also, do you know if you can kill angels with a sword? Because I'm a little doubtful." Boomingham reaches into his pocket and takes out his Jo-No Seed. He begins to munch on it. Quote
CMP Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Atramor chuckled at the pair, though it was a shame, they could've made good paladins. Judgmental, laughably righteous, condescending. Yet now they seemed to have picked the short straws in terms of post-imprisonment life. Well, that was probably well-deserved. "Why did ya' get kicked out?" Quote
JimBee Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 OOC: Oh my god I am so sorry! I meant to reply to a different thread. Sorry! Quote

"I'm assumin' the rest of the Bonapartes tend to be less laid back? Well it's good to hear this boat's in good hands and all that. I've only been on a ship a few times and most often was stowed in the hold, but I ain't mindin' the sea air too much. Ya said the sleepin' fella's been to Strivvi before? I'll see if he's in any mood for a chat. He got a name?" Skrall moves over to the sleeping sailor and gingerly attempts to wake the man. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Skrall gently pokes the sleeping man, but what is a gentle poke for an ogre, is a bit more for most others. The man jumps up. "Ah! Ignacio's the name. Ignacio Skaldson. At your service, ser Ogre." Quote
Pandora Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Nyx has been on a few ships now, in her service to Heroica, so this time she fares better than the last and seems to have at last found her sea-legs. She sits quietly, eating the food provided and keeping an eye out for trouble. She watches Boomingham spend a lot of gold to win a monocle, and smiles quietly to herself as he interacts with the various crewmen, feeling the familiar warm feeling as she gazes on him. She listens as the former paladins discuss angels, but knows better than to bring that subject up with Boomingham again. Instead, she contents herself with a small feeling of hope - it was clear to her the man was changed without.. She shakes her head. With her curiosity piqued, she rises and daintily dusts off some crumbs from her dark robes, before approaching the man who'd recently lost a monocle but gained a lot of gold. "Hey Mac, now you've finished fleecing the old man for his money, could you tell me what this Triple Magic is? I might be interested in a game, if the odds are right." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) "Sure Lady, I have this here pamphlet that shows the rules of the game." You can bet on six elements: Fire Water Wind Earth Light Darkness ~ Each player places the desired amount of gold on the element or elements they wish to bet on. ~ Three coloured dice are then thrown. ~ The player wins or loses their bet depending on which colours the three dice shows. ~ If the colour the player bets on turns out once in the dice, the player will get their gold back. ~ If the colour shows up twice, the player will win double the amount of bet, and if all three dice show the same colour that the player bet on, triple the amount. ~ If none of the dice show the colour that the player bet on, they lose their gold. Pandora Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 "Hmm, well it seems like fun, but it also seems expensive. I prefer to keep my gold in my pockets, or spend it on shoes or lethal weapons, but to pass the time I'll place a wager. I'll bet 5 gold on Fire (of course) and see what happens." Quote
