Kneadatite confusion

First off Hello! New to the forums and customizing all together, i am having a little confusion about the putty I am using.

So I gots me some kneadatite epoxy putty. I want to sculp some hair with it, but if I put it on a Lego head it will adhere to it and I won't be able to get it off in order to put it on the custom I am building. Any tricks? I am looking online but I find some of the tutorials pretty vague for the true novice.

I've never used this before, but maybe you could use some kind of lubricant on the head and put the hair on.

Things like mold release (haven't really tried this before, but it should work) or covering the head with saran wrap would work well for this. You could also find some sort of hair to work off of.
