jhc2nmfn Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 All the speculation about the witch king set is strictly speculation. However if there is one, I highly doubt that the fell beast is molded. With a molded fell beast there would really be nothing to build and it would almost be impossible to hit a building brick:minifigs ratio that lego seems to have to hit. I could see this set being similar to shelob attacks with maybe a little bit more of a pricetag because of the extra minifig (theoden, witchking, eowen, pippin. Although I really can't understand what the post says I don't see any 'black rider' in the black gate set but that would be awesome. I see a black horse but I think that is the mouth of saurons horse. I really wish they would give some horses to the good guys though considering they are all on horseback when they meet. Quote
Duke of wellington Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Alas this will be an overpriced exclusive, probably for Australia toys r us. They mark the prices of exclusives up and up. This could be an epic set but people in Australia will have to pay maybe 79.99 for this set. Palpatines arrest was 159.99 which in reality should of been 120.00. What i'm trying to say is that all the good sets become exclusive and then usually get marked up. And unless you buy them instantly when they come out they are impossible to find, the orc forge was only out for 2 months Quote
Deathleech Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 yes there is the mouth of sauron but also the black rider I think. Eagle confirmed! I am guessing no since it doesn't look like it in the pic, but there is a black rider so that would make me think there is a Fel Beast as well. Is there? Quote
october Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 only eagle no Fel Beast. the black rider is fighting with someone on the box art. but they are no listed as figures. Quote
General Magma Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 only eagle no Fel Beast. the black rider is fighting with someone on the box art. but they are no listed as figures. That's the Mouth of Sauron. I don't know why people still think it could be a Nazgûl. Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I think they based that off of this custom set, which was put up on Brickipedia yesterday: *pic* Unless Flobnodmob (or something like that) put that picture up there, someone ripped off his work. It's sad what people will do these days. However, I really do hope for a Witch-King set at one point (actually, a whole slew of Pelennor Fields sets would be amazing). Quote
Kez Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 That's the Mouth of Sauron. I don't know why people still think it could be a Nazgûl. If you look on the main box art there is a black rider (nazgul) on the black horse but that is because the box art is preliminary but in the bottom left corner of the box there is a picture of the mouth of sauron so that is why people are getting mixed up thinking the mouth of sauron is a nazgûl. I believe that is the mouth of sauron on the horse not a ringwraith Quote
The Legonater Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 That's the Mouth of Sauron. I don't know why people still think it could be a Nazgûl. It sort of looks like they are using one of the old Nazgûl figs as a prelim for the Mouth of Sauron on the actual box art. Quote
Kez Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) ^^ To me it looks like the mouth of sauron on the horse is wearing a hood so it looks more like a ring wraith but I presume it's meant to be the mouth of sauron but that is only because its preliminary, happy new year Edit: ^ Agreed Edited January 1, 2013 by Kez Quote
Pumpkin Pie Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I still think it's a mouth of Sauron fig. Happy New Years! Quote

Darth Caedus Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I would say 95% not going to happen. The reason being in some of the AUJ interviews, Jackson, Boyens and/or Serkis mentioned a possibility of more Gollum scenes. These scenes if they transpire are likely to concern the Mirkwood elves holding him prisoner after his escape from Mordor. Aragorn capturing him could be easily changed. Just speculation at this point though. I hope there are a few more sets, especially as the Corsair Ship hardly seems like a flagship set (£60 perhaps). As this wave has no Hobbits so far, I think they could be included in larger releases. I didn't say more Gollum scenes are out - they'll definitely throw cameos in for him in TABA at least, possibly TDOS. Gandalf mentions seeing Gollum skulking through Mirkwood a couple years after the events of the Hobbit. While Aragorn is still too young to appear in the Hobbit trilogy, capturing Gollum, we could definitely see his departure from the Misty Mountains accelerated, and him shadowing the cold trail of the Company. Disregarding the set (this specific one is almost certainly just a rumour), I'm pretty sure any Fell Beast we get in the future will be moulded. By extension, that would also mean we will probably never get a set like the custom "Witch-king Battle" one because there's not enough scenery. Actually, I can't think of a set based on the Battle of Pelennor Fields that would have sufficient scenery elements apart from maybe something with an Oliphaunt and perhaps some sort of catapult. Kez Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 ^ Oh yes I know that the box has not yet been made, only the design for parts of it and I know the mouth of sauron is going to be on the black horse but because the concept is preliminary there is no new moulded helmet on the mouth of sauron figures head but instead it has been replaced with a black hood, here's the photo for reference: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lego_photos-kez/8314369676/in/photostream (I don't mean to cause an argument ) Quote
KristofBD Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Thanks for the information, October. Were you able to take a closer look at the Council of Elrond and wizard battle sets? Thanks and happy new year to everyone! Quote
Brickington Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Does anyone know if there is going to any soldiers (Gondor, Rohan, etc.) in this next wave? Quote
Cammo Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I made an analysis of 2 catalogue sets with 2 bonus-level videogame sets: Let me know what your thoughts are. Quote
deskp Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Similar with the black gate set. 5 minifigs listed but seems thet tere are many more. there is also 1 black rider on it. I count only 5 minifigures on the box art, and only 5 in the 'list' Quote

Lordof theBricks Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Guys, what do Yu think, will we see more LOTR sets in this wawe? I think we will,if You didn't notice,we have also seen for every theme one page, also as Star wars, but in star wars page, there is only 2 sets,so there is definetely one more page.It needs to be same with LOTR Quote
Crownie Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) I made an analysis of 2 catalogue sets with 2 bonus-level videogame sets: *snip* Let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks for this - it's exactly the kind of visual organization I love to do as well! Seeing these two sets next to their videogame counterparts, I have to say that the actual LEGO sets look so much better; I find myself getting excited all over again. I think I'll need at least 2 of each set from this wave, lol. Maybe three of the black gate, because 3 eagles is much better than 2. (I always prefer odd numbers.) Hmm. I'm sure LEGO appropriately frowns upon slave labor, but do you think any of their CEO's need an indentured servant? I'd just work for room, board, and LEGO, lol. Guys, what do Yu think, will we see more LOTR sets in this wawe? Honestly, 4 new sets for the wave isn't a surprising number. If we do get a 5th set (retailer exclusive), it most certainly wouldn't be in the general retail sales catalog at all, so we won't know about it until we get closer to the release date. Brickington Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I think I am more happier with the Castle sets, than the new Lotr sets. Quote
