SirBlake Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) That list does sound good. It would leave us 1 Balrog away from a pretty complete LotR collection. It would certainly address the maddening lack of Gondor presence up to this point. Edit: are these prices in USD? That would make for a fairly good size Minas Tirith. BlackTiger13 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 From what I can see, the Minas Tirith is the gate with a medium wall either side and 2 smaller levels above. Quote

SMC Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) New 2014 LOTR summer wave sets: $12.99 The Mirror of Galadriel $25.99 Amon Hen Ambush $40.00 The Defence of Osgiliath $60.00 Witch King showdown $120.00 The Battle of Minas Tirith Can't say where I have this info right now, more info shortly. I have to say I don't think its real and my reasons: + odd timing, its a bit early for set names and prices when we have not even heard there will be a 3rd wave + £12 Galadriel set that would have another Frodo and no action does not sound that amazing for mass market (for AFOL a cheap way to get Galadriel would be good), I thought if we did get Galadriel in a LOTR set it would be the 2 trees with a bridge like we saw in the game. + Amon Hen, I just didn't think they would ever make this although it would be a good way to get Boromir and lurtz in armor. But why would they put Merry in this when he could have had new printing armor in a ROTK set. + $120.00 The Battle of Minas Tirith, cheaper than helms deep and with no set with wall to add on + no £30 army set, yes this might be wishful thinking but with the new hobbit army set like the one we saw in the first LOTR wave a gondor one would be great. + no Treebeard when the ent in orthanc is unnamed (for a reason) + no Balrog which I guessed would be the first set they would make (yes I was wrong there, they have made a few already ) + only 5 post, sorry edit: 8 post now Im starting to wonder Edited October 19, 2013 by SMC Quote
BlackTiger13 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Mirror set has a small mirror and a statue, amon hen, some trees, a small set of steps and the palantir tower thin ny the looks of it. Osgiliath Small orc boat ad ruins. Witch king, Fellbeast which is white like the moria cave troll prelim, small grassy areas and a flickr fire feature thingy. Minas Tirith 1 large gate level 2 smaller levels with a small house and the citadel. An orc catapult outside the city. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 2014 Already??? Find this hard to believe... Quote
SirBlake Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 It all sounds too good to be true, but for some reason, my BS alarm is not going off. Could be wishful thinking, but I feel like this is legit. So, brick built fell beast or molded? Quote
SheepEater Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 If this is legit, the ranger in Osgiliath has to be Faramir. Quote
BlackTiger13 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I can't show the pictures because the person who sent them to me would be in a load of trouble. The Fellbeast seems to be moulded as it is a whoite outline of it which indicates to be that it will be moulded. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Hm.....I'm quite skeptical of this. Seems very early to be getting preliminary information. Quote

Thats what I think of with the 'glow' around him in the box art Also those sets are great!!! Though MEA is a bit of a letdown Edited October 20, 2013 by SandMirror38 Quote
BlackTiger13 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I can't give you a name, but I can tell you he works on the LOTR sets, if the pics leak early he WILL be in big trouble, so I can't show them. Quote
The_Creator Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) 2014 LotR information ALREADY?! Wow, if it is true, which I think it is, then I'm going to reserve judgment for pictures, since I much prefer a described itty bitty picture than just a description. SandMirror38 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 So apparently we have news of the 2014 sets already.. Quote
SheepEater Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) Assuming this list is legit I'm hopeful for the inclusion of these characters: 1) Galadriel 2) Witch King 3) Eowyn 4) Faramir (in Osgiliath set) 5) Gothmog, the Orc general. No Aragorn, Legolas or Gimli - good, we already have enough of them. If this concludes the LOTR theme, then very few characters will have been missed. Old Bilbo - Can do without, his younger self got a whole theme named after him Balrog - I suspect this is to avoid any criticism/boycott from overtly religious people. Remember Jabba's Palace? Denethor - he's neither a clear cut hero or villain, and his character arc is too dark for kids. Treebeard - he'll be missed but you can always mod the Ent in Orthanc to more closely resemble him Celeborn- well, you can always pretend Haldir is him...close enough for me Edited October 20, 2013 by SheepEater Quote
SandMirror38 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 The devil maybe? It is sad we won't see an old bilbo although he may be a book exclusive Quote
SMC Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 ^ The devil was my guess but he is not the devil he is killed and as a overtly religious person I don't see the problem and it would make a great set I really want an old bilbo too although he would work well as an exclusive, do you think we will get a book? maybe after the final wave. I agree and would love to get a Balrog set obviously, but you know there will always be a very vocal minority trying to create controversy by trying to paint Lego as demonic children's toy. SandMirror38 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 ^ If harry potter gets one LOTR gets one I think we will see one around the release of TABA. The LOTR & Hobbit sets are not very many but with next year aswell we may have heaps of sets and with the universe of LOTR there could be a book Quote
Faefrost Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 While a wonderful list I am more than a little skepticle. As others have said, the list seems just a little too good to be true. It is almost exactly subject by subject what people around here have been asking for. Down to set and minifig suggestions. All rolled into one list. Sorry but it will take a bit more than a never before heard from poster to make me buy into something that seems so perfectly targeted at us. Besides which, pricing? This early? In USD $? We would expect to see set numbers long before we hear any talk of pricing, let alone "overseas" pricing in the US market. As I said color me suspicious. Quote
The_Creator Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) Not sure if this belongs in this thread as it diesn't pertain to the sets, persay but I'll post it anyhow. When LotR/The Hobbit is all done with do you think TLG will make a character/set book with an exclusive minifigure? I certainly hope so, and think they would. Given the fact Harry Potter sets were made I hardly see a problem with Balrog. I'd absolutely love a set with Balrog in it! Edited October 20, 2013 by The_Creator Quote
SandMirror38 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Will we see a hobbit video game like the LOTR one? I imagine Old Bilbo could be a exclusive with that Quote
