A Plastic Infinity Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) I'm starting a series! Read the story, it really improves the build. The Portal opened before us, crackling with energy and revealing a bleak gray landscape covered with strange growths, stretching as far as the eye could see. One of the guards prodded Quane with his lance, knocking her off balance. she tumbled through the rift and onto a narrow path of stones that meander off into the distance. The guard turned to me. "Go on!" he barked, knocking me after her. I fell heavily on the smooth stones, realizing that they weren't stones at all- they were as cold as metal. Quane was standing, looking on as the Portal began to close, growing smaller and smaller. The last thing we saw before it disappeared was the sight of two armored guards sneering at us through their masks. "That'll teach you to steal from the Empress!" one laughed. The Portal blinked out. Now we were surrounded by the Desolation on all sides. Trying out some more SNOT techniques here. Please tell me what you think, I need all the critique I can get because I must make several more of these! Edited February 8, 2013 by A Plastic Infinity Quote
Captain Settle Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Great SNOT, and I love how you did the size differences between the rocks. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Very ingenious parts use for those plant things, as well as for the portal. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I didn't need to read the story to improve the build. The build is already awesome! I love the rocks and the green... ... cells? I'm not even sure haha. The portal is really well done, as is the mudflaps holding up the 'cell'. Really attractive build. is the entire portal in the back / with the three guys held on by connection in the corner there (like free floating) or is there an invisible stand somewhere? my only suggestion - and I'm being SUPPPEr nitpicky, is maybe try to rotate the cell a bit so the gap in the two domes isn't as obvious.... But dude this is awesome. And I really did like the story you came up with it Quote

But dude this is awesome. And I really did like the story you came up with it The portal is supended by some trams-clear rounded 2x2 bricks attached at the corner of the base.I hear you about the cell thing (which by the way is carnivorous fungi) but trust me, this is the best angle. If I had put it facing some other direction you would have a lot more to complain about. Quote
