Etzel Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 "Well, I think we should board the ship everyone. Anyone that wishes to continue speaking can do that while we are on our way." Quote
Tanma Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 IC: De'kra nodded to Denerii, who he directed his words too. Dipping his head in respect he boarded the Vesak, and prepared to play a song while they sailed. At least until something went wrong. Quote
JimBee Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 The party boards the ship, and The Mercutio sets sail. The heroes watch as Uland shrinks to a tiny speck on the horizon, and De'kra plays his instrument. It will be a while before they arrive at the port of Dastan, so they must find a way to pass the time. Will the party venture below decks, continue talking with each other and their guides on the deck, or simply wait until they arrive at port? Quote
Palathadric Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Seeing the others carrying on their separate conversations, I turn to Harkenshire. "So, warden, where do you come from? How long have you been with Heroica?" JimB, I think you can assume that William is equipping the Fancy Shield... Hope all goes well with the chemo, Tanma. Quote
Tachyon Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 While the rest of the party converse, Mizuki ventures below decks........ Quote
Etzel Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 "I think we all should go down below deck and meet these mercenaries that the captain talked about. But let me with some diplomatic skills speak first, the sell-swords might be of the suspicious kind." Quote
JimBee Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 JimB, I think you can assume that William is equipping the Fancy Shield... QM Note: Sorry, but he'll have to state that for himself. I know it makes sense for him to equip it, but rules are rules. The party heads below decks to encounter a trio of grubby-looking sellswords, presumably the mercenaries that Whales spoke of. They laughed around a makeshift table as they drank and played games. It isn't long before they take notice of the heroes. "Look boys, it's those stowaways we heard about!" "They're not stowaways if they're allowed on board, Huey... " "Yeah, yeah, you're just mad because you lost all your gold, Louie. Haha!" "Enough, you two drunkards. You'll scare away the company!" The third man looked Mizuki up and down with approving eyes. "Name's Dewey, by the way," he said with a grin. "Yeah, you must be those 'heroes'... so it won't be a while 'til we're at our next port, whaddye say to a game of Triple Magic?" "Or some sparring... it's been forever since we've seen some action. Old man Whales is paranoid, if you ask me. But hey, gold is gold." How will the party reply? Quote
Tachyon Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Mizuki goes up to the man with the cutless and says to him "Would you like to spar with me ?" Quote
Tanma Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) OOC: thank you IC: De'kra waits to find out more information, as the Warden had started a conversation. In the meantime, Dekra clicked to the Paladin of the group, "I not sure you and I have met before. Would you like to talk?" Edited March 6, 2013 by Tanma Quote
JimBee Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 "What is Triple Magic?" "Don't tell me you haven't heard of Triple Magic! Ah well, here's how you play..." ~ The betting board contains six squares, each assigned with a different colour but referred to as their corresponding elements. Fire Water Wind Earth Light Darkness ~ Each player places the desired amount of gold on the element or elements they wish to bet on. ~ Three coloured dice are then thrown. ~ The player wins or loses their bet depending on which colours the three dice shows. ~ If the colour the player bets on turns out once in the dice, the player will get their gold back. ~ If the colour shows up twice, the player will win double the amount of bet, and if all three dice show the same colour that the player bet on, triple the amount. ~ If none of the dice show the colour that the player bet on, they lose their gold. QM Note: Credit for the game and rules goes to Sandy, of course. "So, wanna place any bets?" Mizuki goes up to the man with the cutless and says to him "Would you like to spar with me ?" "Er, well, it's a sort of all or nothing deal. Wouldn't want to leave anyone out, would we?" The man with the black hat, Dewey, glared at Louie. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 "Gambling!" I snort. "I really would not advise that you do it. Fighting for sport is also a worthless and needlessly gruesome pastime!" I stroll around the room casually passing my eyes over the goods and trying to determine what they are. Quote
Etzel Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 OOC: thank you IC: De'kra waits to find out more information, as the Warden had started a conversation. In the meantime, Dekra clicked to the Paladin of the group, "I not sure you and I have met before. Would you like to talk?" "My name is Maurice Ratibor. I can see that you are an experienced hero, despite your reach, I'm sure we have some common friends amongst the other heroes." "5 on black, red and blue." Maurice sighed as the ranger placed his bets. Just as that block-headed Nord that he had quested with before, this ranger didn't seem to resist the temptation of gambling, and on top of that he placed a bet that he could only at best get his own gold back. "If you're going to gamble you might at least try to win some money. Just bet on one of the colours." Quote
Tanma Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 IC: De'kra nodded and clicked, "Yes, I have been on many quests, though some have not ended well. If you heard of the recent war between the Brobric Elves and the Lion Knights, that was my fault. It was I first quest, and the Shadeaux, our employer, want to create a war to sell weapons for. So they trick us into creating a war in northern Uland. If only we had trust our employer less, instead if blindly accepting his choices. We should have realize something was up. Still, can't let it hold I down, got to move on. I am call De'kra by the way." Quote

Don't know anything about anything!" "Yes, I have been on many quests, though some have not ended well. If you heard of the recent war between the Brobric Elves and the Lion Knights, that was my fault. Hearing, Dek'ra's comment to Maurice, I mutter, "No doubt, little villain. It would seem like something you devils would do to cause wars and strive wherever you can!" I continue surveying the room. Quote
JimBee Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 "5 on black, red and blue." "Oh sure, you'll win lots of gold that way! Palathadric Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I go back up on deck and speak with the captain. "So, how long have you been captain of this ship?" I query. Still, can't let it hold I down, got to move on. I am call De'kra by the way." "That's most unfortunate. I've sure heard about the war in northern Uland, it ravage some of the Order's holdings up there and even after the war was over there was trouble left with raiders and highwaymen all over the place. I think the 2nd Battalion of Light and Justice has taken care of that problem by now. It's important to keep a critical mind, even against your employer. Thankfully, our one seems trustworthy so far..." Maurice turns to the rest of his party comrades: "So, what do you think about a sparring against these mercenaries? We have a long trip before us and some training might do us good." Quote
Tachyon Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Mizuki says to Maurice "Sure, it'll be a great way to test our skills for the quest and train ." as she starts flipping a gold coin. Quote
Tanma Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) IC: De'kra nodded, "Yes, friend of I help end the fighting in quest 17. I worry about him sometimes, ever since he went on that quest where he met Wren, I hear things about him. He now on his third quest and her, he targets her specifically. I not sure what should be done. But as for this employer, oh yes Rito are good people. Not always too fond if the emperors of Dastan, but Dastan has history of racism to minorities. And they still help save the day from three fractions creating war. They are beautiful people." Edited March 7, 2013 by Tanma Quote
JimBee Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 QM Note: Please make a decision in bold. The party can either continue playing Triple Magic, fight the mercs, or return to the deck. Party members may opt out of the battle if they wish, but please state your actions in bold. Quote
