posades Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Xander follows the group inside, careful to leave the door open for Cronk.
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 The heroes make their way inside the inn leaving Cronk to consult with the Ziegfried mage. "Hhhannnn hhhhhi hhhhellllf hou?"
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Hello, sir, and good day. Would you happen to be Mr. Benedict Greely?
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 (edited) "Hhhheaking." Edited April 23, 2013 by Waterbrick Down
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 We were summoned here by a Lorcen Hinckwell about clearing out some tenants.
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 "Hhhah hhhhes. Hhhhwwwould hhhhou hhhhine hhhhhaking hhhhhome hhhhhof hhhhhese hhhhackages?" Dyric helps the halfling remove some of the luggage. "That's better. Yes, I sent to Mr. Hinckwell about acquiring some help in removing some of the tenants. I take it you are the chaps that Sash picked out. You have had some experience in dealing with rough individuals I assume?"
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 (edited) "Wonderful. Well now, let's see there's the cleric in Room 202, the chap in 203 ducks through his window to go out in order to avoid seeing me, and then there's the widow in 201 who by the books records hasn't payed for nearly 3 years! And that's just the 2nd floor! Room 301 is occupied by a faun who's had several extensions on his payment and has failed to make restitution, Room 305 is on a short term lease and hasn't stopped by in at the desk in over a week, and then there's the gentleman in the pent house who's about 2 months behind in his rent." The halfling rolled out two maps. "If my master was still around he would have seen all these villains out without the bat of an eyelash. I think just because the cat's now gone, the mice think that they can play. Well Mr. Hinckwell means business, so if you have any trouble don't be afraid to use some force. Also, if you get the chance, there's two fellows in the basement working on the furnace. They've been down there for quite awhile so if you could check on them that would excellent, the stairs are through the kitchen." "Are there any further questions I can answer for you?" CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Does Mr. Greely know of any tenants that friends should be extra cautious of? Did Mr. Greely happen to see something called a wolperting wander into inn?
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 "I've always observed the fellow in 203 to be broad shouldered, so he might put up a fight should it come to that. Other than him, most of the tenants shouldn't be any issue. Concerning this wolpertinger, I wasn't even aware we had any in these parts."
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Animal might have been small enough to escape Mr. Greely's notice. Can Cronk ask a follow up question? Does Inn have a supply of apples?
Chromeknight Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Is Master Hinkwell solely concerned with evictions or would he be satisfied with back paid rent and some form of security for future payment?
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 "I'm sure we've got some apples in the kitchen my good Paladin. And yes Ms. Elf, I think Master Hinckwell would be satisfied with the back paid rent, if you can get it from them, however I don't think a security deposit of future payments would be as acceptable to him."
Chromeknight Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Nerwen nodded. Your pardons. I did mean security in addition to the rent. There is no point collecting what is owed but having nothing more than promises that future payments will be made. Can you give me a list of who owes what please?
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 "Ah, well yes then that would be agreeable I think. As to the room amounts: 201: 3600 Gold 202: 200 Gold 203: 400 Gold 301: 500 Gold 305: 120 Gold Pent House: 300 Gold
Chromeknight Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Thank you Master Greely Turning to the others she asked Shall we head upstairs?
posades Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 "Is there any particular order we need to visit these tenants? Perhaps we should look into the situation in the basement first; it might somehow be connected with the others, as the furnace must provide heat to all the building. Also, we could see if there are apples for Cronk in the kitchen."
Chromeknight Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 That is a good though, Xander. Kitchen first then? Nerwen steps to the door to the kitchen and holds it open for the others.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Cronk should tell friends that Cronk promised Altair Zeigfried that Cronk would look for a little creature that ran into inn. It is an odd little thing called a wolpertinger. Altair summoned it as a birthday present for Altair's niece and would like to have it returned. Altair has always been fair to Cronk, so Cronk said Cronk would try. Is that okay with friends? It wouldn't be out of friends' way.
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I don't see why we can't track down some pet while we're in here.
posades Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Xander follows the group to the kitchen. "Who knows, we might even be able to overhear some conversations through the pipes that are coming from the offending rooms," Xander whispers to Nerwen as they make their way downstairs.
Waterbrick Down Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 The party heads into the kitchen where they are greeted by a somewhat familiar looking cyclops. "Hello, hello, hello."
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Hello there. Has cook seen a wolpertinger come through here?
Waterbrick Down Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 "A wolper-what? Why, do you want me to cook one?"
The Legonater Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 We were trying to find one. As for cooking it, it doesn't sound like it'd be the tastiest snack. If you have anything you'd like us to try, though, we'd be glad to.
