Waterbrick Down Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 "Can't say I've seen anything scamperin' around here that hasn't ended up in the pot. And unless you're stayin' here at the inn, I'm afraid no free samples."
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 From what Cronk understands of creature, Cronk does not believe it would make much of a meal. Wolpertinger is sort of like a squirrel with horns. Cronk expects creature to look darling. Cook has not thrown such a creature into pot, has cook? Would cook be interested in selling apple to Cronk if cook is not willing to give one? Can cook give any sort of insight into inhabitants of inn? Any patrons seem dangerous?
Waterbrick Down Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) "Hmmm nope don't think so. I could at least make a pie out of these wolpertingers it sounds like though. Most of the patrons here are decent folks. The faun on the third floor is quite the womanizer so your elf maiden should look out, but other than him, most of them are pretty placid. Oh and if you're interested in something from my pantry, perhaps you'd be up for a little cooking challenge? I could use a few hands for a couple of minutes." Edited April 24, 2013 by Waterbrick Down
Chromeknight Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Nerwen smiles wolfishly hearing about the faun. He's welcome to try. As for a cooking challenge, I will happily participate. Although Nerwen's slim figure did not look the type to have spent much time in kitchens, she spoke up with confidence.

CorneliusMurdock Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 OOC: Is it four rounds or can we try the entire battle four times? Ideas, friends? Party should probably try for three meals first but which would be easiest?
The Legonater Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Room 205 would be easier, as it has the most amount of 'enemies' I can assassinate. 302 seems hardest for a similar reason. The other two are pretty well the same.
Waterbrick Down Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 OOC: Is it four rounds or can we try the entire battle four times? Ideas, friends? Party should probably try for three meals first but which would be easiest? QM Note: Only 4 rounds.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 OOC: Another clarification, would triggering the War Pig's special count as a win for us? Room 206 looks like another good one as long as friends can get sugar before spoiling. Perhaps try getting sugar first and then see? Cronk could counter-strike goat or chicken in two turns. Of the two, the goat's other ingredients do not have a ruining special. Maybe friends should try for 304 as well.
Chromeknight Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Nerwen fishes around in her satchel, pulling out the shackles of war, prepared to prevent any of the animals from fleeing. My understanding is the shackles do not need to be equipped to have an effect. I also assume they would have no effect on food spoiling. Edited April 25, 2013 by Chromeknight

QM Notes: If the war pig sacrifices itself that will count in your favor and the shackles would prevent all enemies from fleeing, but would not prevent the food from spoiling. However you will need to spend a turn equipping the shackles to yourself, Chormeknight, in order for them to be effective.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Shackles would only be effective against Chicken. And 204 menu looks to be hardest battle anyway since two other ingredients could spoil... Cronk is not sure Shackles would be worth it. Cronk thinks Rooms 205 and 304 are easiest since no ingredients spoil. 206 could be next easiest as only one ingredient has chance of spoiling. In four rounds, Cronk is guaranteed to counterstrike both the goat and carp enough. That leaves: Cow Corn Pig Apple Sugar Carrots Mushrooms Things to keep in mind: Dyric is lucky and so should go after the Sugar so it doesn't spoil. Dyric also has chance to assassinate high HP animals. It might be worth time for Dyric to use smelling salts first round. Xander is favoring beasts and could go after Pig. And maybe Cow. Cronk and Nerwen could go after smaller items. But Cronk is less likely to do damage as Paladin.
posades Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) "Either of the rooms is fine with me. Assuming I land a hit, I can take out anything besides the Cow or Pig in a single blow." OoC: If my calculations are correct, an Aim, Hit or Shield by me will leave the Pig at 9 HP, and Crit will kill it. Only a Crit from me will kill the Cow in one turn (204 damage). Edited April 25, 2013 by posades
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Xander, friends must make at least three meals in four rounds. Cronk is now thinking, looking at specials of enemies, that perhaps Dyric's luckiness could be used well against Carrots and possibly Mushrooms as well. Cronk thinks Dyric (and maybe Xander?) using smelling salts might be necessary to ensure victory.
The Legonater Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 So, here is my proposed Battle Order: Cronk Xander Nyx Dyric Not sure whether to switch around Nyx and I, but that is the basic idea - Cronk and Xander have the highest defenses, and thus should naturally go first.
Chromeknight Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Master Rone. Nyx is a sorceress back at the hall. My name is Nerwen. And I believe my staff will do extra damage to the mountain goat, meaning one chance in three I could kill it outright. Equally, my fiery mourning star will be good at tenderising the plants. As for order, we will only suffer one free hit, and Master Cronk counter strikes. He should take the blow.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 And I believe my staff will do extra damage to the mountain goat, meaning one chance in three I could kill it outright. Equally, my fiery mourning star will be good at tenderising the plants. But Cronk could take out both the Goat and Carp with free hits. That's for sure damage.
Chromeknight Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 But Cronk could take out both the Goat and Carp with free hits. That's for sure damage. Certainly Cronk. That is why I shall focus on some of our plant enemies.
posades Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 "If we are going to go Cronk's route, then that means we need to focus on 205 and 304. Which other room should we try to fulfill?"
Chromeknight Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Cronk suggested earlier that room 206 was likely the next easiest. Cronk will counterstrike the Goat then when it is dead, the carp Since we are not chasing the chicken, Cronk will need to go second in the battle order. Whomever is first takes the hit from the chicken. Xander, you take the cow, even though you can't take it in one turn, we need the beef. That leaves the pig for Cronk, he can chip away at the side until Xander can help Meanwhile Dyric and I can start on the other ingredients The sugar can spoil, as Cronk said, if someone lucky takes it out of the pantry it is less likely to spoil. And we should do it first so we have time to change plans if our luck is rotten. So, Dyric, you take the sugar this turn. I will take the corn as its special is the most straightforward, and, as a Shaman, having damage on the party isn't such bad thing if I do miss. We will pick up the other ingredients, apple, carrot and mushrooms as we see how things go. That said, Nerwen draws her mourning star and proceeds to pop the basket of corn from the front row. Edited April 25, 2013 by Chromeknight
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Um, Cronk suggested 206 as the next logical choice. Dyric should make sure plan is viable by trying to take out Sugar first round. If Sugar spoils, plan will have to be changed.
Chromeknight Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Nerwen laughed lightly I apologise, friend Cronk, for speaking over the top of you. Also Dyric, one of us needs to take a hit from the carp this round unless you assassinate an animal first. Since you can attack from the back row at full strength, you are better placed to withstand the blow. You should be third in the battle order, going after Cronk. Edited April 25, 2013 by Chromeknight
posades Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Xander agrees to the plan, attacking the Mad Cow with his bow from the back row.
