>Sylph heals Nessa (Shrapnel Bow) - Shield: Roots of Life (34 health restored to everyone, all negative effects removed, -1 ether)

Sylph summons a thin mat of plants through the cracks in the stone floor to heal the party, but it's not enough. Nessa's wound is reopened within a second from the swift assassin, and Dreyrugr deals a powerful blow to the dark figure even as he twists out of the way of the party, flinging nearly half a dozen shining knives from his belt fluidly. Nessa crumples to the floor, one of the daggers buried deep in her side.

The pain came strong. Other than the last time it did not stop. The dagger in her side was cold. And the coldness started to grow over her body. She was on the ground unable to move, unable to speak. Blood ran from the wound painting the floor red. 'Is this the end... again?' Nessa thought as the world became dark.

OOC: I guess you were right, Pala. Well for now I will wait here on the ground... taking a nap or so :sweet:

I mean Nessa, yes, she takes a nap, she is not dead, what? Just talking to myself :wink:

OOC: just for clarification: the last special just ignores row, not shield, yes? So it did not deal 20 dmg to all? Would not change much for Nessa though :sad:

I see Nessa drop. The Phoenix Essence in my cart hums annoyingly in my mind. Quickly, I reach for it, but then my eyes lay hold on Nessa. I stare coldly down at her. She had not the interest in raising her party leader when he went down, and then, to top it off, she let off the hook (on the other hand) those that had done her party leader harm.

Does she deserve my help and respect?

I shake my head.

Turning away, I attack the Blue Assassin from the Front Row with Cross of Light.

Round Three of Black and Blue

Dreyrugr vs. Blue Assassin (Muckraker) - Shield: Arrogant Prick (78 damage, Spinning Bolas and 100 gold stolen, no deflect)

Pretzel vs. Blue Assassin (Cross of Light) - Shield: Guardian Angel ((No damage or effects for the next round)

Erik vs. Blue Assassin (Twin Axe) - Hit (20 x 2 = 40 damage, no deflect)

The party makes good progress even without their elven ranger. Erik and Sylph tag-team the Blue Assassin, though he's trying his best to avoid their blades. Pretzel summons his nude guardian angel as Sylph swallows a tonic.

The Blue Assassin, however, notices his disadvantage. Pretzel sees his chance, clapping his shackles onto the assassin's wrist, but it doesn't stop him from sprinting up the nearest wall, and twisting mid-jump to land on the platform just above the heroes. It's clear he's looking for an exit. The heroes will have to act quickly.

- The Blue Assassin is attempting to escape. The heroes have five ten rounds to reach and engage him. The timer will reset after the next engagement ends.

- Rounds are run normally, but heroes have more freedom over their actions, such as examining or moving objects in the environment.

- The heroes may attack the Blue Assassin with ranged weapons only at all times, but it will not count as an engagement.

- If the Blue Assassin is not targeted, he will still deal free hits. He can be targeted with melee weapons, but nothing will happen.

OoC: How do we "Engage?" do you mean like 'Sylph grabs what appears to be a fallen plank and uses it to climb up to the ledge.' ?

To engage means to be close enough to the Blue Assassin to enter physical combat.

Would the assassin be able to damage Sylph if he shot with his bow as normal. Also, would Pretzel be able to fly up to places with his Flying Cross (Broomstick)? Also, I still need to post a Battle Order, I guess? Apologies for my absence.

Yes, and no. He can use the broomstick to fly in and attack, of course, but he can't just fly around freely. I meant, he can try, obviously... :devil:

Just how realistic does it need to be? That plank is awfully large to carry or put up against anything. The heroes are also pretty short. I don't know if we'd be able to reach up to or open any barrels. :sceptic:

"Since we're under the protection of the Guardian Angel, it probably makes sense for me to attack him as well.

"Erik, Demon, carry that plank over to where the sideways barrel is. Perhaps you can climb up to there, and from there jump to the little ledge which should provide you with enough support to haul yourself up to the floor where the assassin is on. Otherwise, you could attempt to jump on the 2 x 2 side ways brick and jump on the barrel from there."

I attack the Assassin from the back row with the Flying Cross.

Round Four of Black and Blue

Pretzel and Sylph keep the Blue Assassin busy. The paladin flies up to him, but receives only another throwing knife embedded in his shoulder. Sylph's arrow only grazes the murderer.

Dreyrugr manages to get his Spinning Bolas wrapped around the corner of the catwalk above him, but only one end is left hovering several feet above him. He'd have to get a boost somehow in order to climb it. Erik, meanwhile, just barely manages to scramble atop of the barrel behind Pretzel's angel, but it's currently underneath the catwalk - he can't even stand up on it. Judging by the fact it didn't fall over, there's likely something quite heavy in it. It'll be difficult to move with raw manpower.
