Savage Oppress Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Recently: TT Games has been making Lego Games longer and harder to play with little kids. In the recent Lego games, the levels are super long and the puzzles are way too hard for little kids to figure out Quote
The Legonater Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Honestly? I would say the opposite. The levels are at least the same length, if not shorter. Everything is much easier to figure out now - during LEGO LotR they practically gave you tips on every single thing you had to do. Quote

Remember the Podrace and Republic Gunship levels on the original LEGO Star Wars? Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I think the levels are shorter, but that is balanced with the open world of most recent games (Harry Potter 1 & 2, Batman 2, Lord of the Rings) helping to pad the game out a little. I'm fairly sure the difficulty is the same, and that a kid could play LotR and the first Lego Star Wars with the same ease. Quote
def Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 As much as I love content, I'm a little annoyed that current games are pretty much impossible to get 100% without a guide. I had the complete Star Wars saga on my Wii, and got 100% all on my own. I have gotten Harry Potter 2, Indy Jones 2, and Batman 2 since then, and in numerous places, I've needed to check the Internet for something or other. The games are good, but they need to be very good to justify me looking something up on the Internet. Plus, they added DLC in the form of suits for Batman 2, which is irritating to no end. Ultimately, they play well, and they drop in price fairly consistently after six months, which means they're an easy purchase, but I can easily say I found that complete Star Wars game a lot more fun to play through than Batman 2. They always come with a number of hours worth of content, so they are worth the ¥3,000 or so I usually pay. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 (edited) I agree; they're easier now. Remember the Podrace and Republic Gunship levels on the original LEGO Star Wars? oh don't remind me.... The thing I don't really like was they cut out so much of LOTR and lightened the tone a bit too much. Edited June 24, 2013 by Tolkien Quote

Brickdoctor Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The Podrace was awesome. So many timers, and most of them requiring you to be near-perfect to make the time. Quote
The Legonater Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 oh don't remind me.... The thing I don't really like was they cut out so much of LOTR and lightened the tone waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Really? I was impressed by just how much emotion LEGO LotR carried compared to LEGO games in the past. Obviously not as much as the books or movies, but it was a definite effort to carry the same plot and emotion from LotR while still maintaining its essence. It would easily be my favorite LEGO game yet if it didn't take so long to load everything. So many timers, and most of them requiring you to be near-perfect to make the time. It and the Gunship fight were frustrating, sure, but I think they had they're own little charm to them. I was really thrown off-balance when I saw how much they changed the levels for The Complete Saga. Quote

Oh, and also the General Grievous level, which wasn't hard, just that you had to hit him something like ten times, and every time you landed a hit he jumped up to a platform and you had to run through all the platforms all over again. Good times. The more I think about it, the more I realize the original games had the most originality. It's like they keep coming up with new stuff and don't know how to put a new spin on the old. Didn't like that they cut out Denethors madness. Quote

General Greivous' bodyguard was just the best to play as though. I always used him. Freakin' awesome! You wouldn't believe how insane it was trying to play the podrace with two people though. The Gunship though. I would agree that LEGO: Lord of the Rings, seems a lot more emotionful, if you will, then most other LEGO games. It's great, but not good for my petty laptop. just2good Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 The Podrace was awesome. Worst part of the LEGO Star Wars games. And LEGO Star Wars is the only TT game I own. Quote
CMP Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I remember spending what seemed like hours trying to get through that damn Gunship level. I'd get right up to the end, and fail to hit those damn shield generators. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I played those in the Complete Saga as bonus levels. "Hey, what's this door do? The Podrace? There is a Podrace level already! Oh well, I'll try it........." 45 min later.... "THAT WAS SO DAMN HARD!" Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Dat pod-race. It actually took me a few months. I didn't even try to get 100% or studs or anything on that once I finished it. The rest were pretty fun. I also have the Indiana Jones one. It's a bit more harder/requires more thought, but still easy. Quote

I think I went and found a cheat code to get Invincibility to finish the minikits and True Jedi on the Podrace and Gunship levels. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Did no one else finish Star Wars completely? I found it very difficult to get all the studs needed in the Defense of Kashyyk level. I finally had to go back with invincibility and play in story mode, as I think the requirement is less than in free play. Star Wars II was fantastic. I liked the way that you could unlock all the characters from the first one. Boba and Jango Fett are awesome. Greedo, of course, is also great to play as. I played Star Wars and Star Wars II, I played the first Indiana Jones and more recently I've been going, very slowly through the Lord of the Rings. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) I've played every single LEGO TT game except Rock Band. 100% on quite a few. Does anyone else think its kinda hard to get studs on LOTR compared to the others? Plus, the characters are super expensive. Edited July 2, 2013 by Tolkien Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Palathadric- yeah, I beat all the Star Wars, and the Indiana Jones. Boba was awesome. Except in the multiplayer duel mode on places like Mustafar, where Boba shoots and the big-megablock kickback actually knocks you off into the lava. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Did no one else finish Star Wars completely? I don't think I ever found the last minikit in the droid factory level. (I can't remember where the nine I found were. But I know the tenth wasn't the one that could be found if you walked the wrong way at the start; that was the last one I found.) Quote
CMP Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 For anyone interested, LEGO Lord of the Rings and Batman 2 are on sale for half off on Xbox Live, but be quick, it's for today only. Got the former and I'm pretty excited, it'll be the first LEGO game I've played in years. Quote

But I know the tenth wasn't the one that could be found if you walked the wrong way at the start; that was the last one I found.) I couldn't find that minikit forever, assuming its the one you're talking about, but there was one in a cave where all those winged freaks attack you. There is some sort of maze that you go through in the cave. Did you get that one? Does anyone else think its kinda hard to get studs on LOTR compared to the others? Plus, the characters are super expensive. Meh! In the first LEGO Star Wars the studs kept falling through the ground! I don't think I ever found the last minikit in the droid factory level. (I can't remember where the nine I found were. But I know the tenth wasn't the one that could be found if you walked the wrong way at the start; that was the last one I found.) Then you didn't manage to open the secret room? Quote
