Other then that, the only other ideas are; Welcome to Eurobricks! Nice ideas and a lot of people have expressed a desire for the first two, so you're in good company. Fancy dress shop would be fun. There's an alt build of the Disney castle that does this, using the figures as costumes, which I rather like. Quote
Lion King Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Not bad idea for boutique store! I always want to see a Japanese shushi house with Kyotoian architecture. Quote

I have to say, I am really hopeful that for one, Lego has allowed a 'modular' to be on the BDP roster. I don’t know how likely they will BDP modular sets back on roster. Did they explain why? Personally, I wish Lego would release 0.5 modular building set every year. Ramen shop, seance, insurance agency, townhouse, apartment, antique store, etc. i feel like it would be $150. I know it would be $200 realistically. However, i won’t spend money too much on other big Lego sets than than Modular Building Colleciton itself. It’s a sad reality that Lego sets get expensive. Lion King Posted November 5 Posted November 5 While waiting for some leaks or info on the next Modular Building set, if it’s indeed a furniture store set, what GWP would be to accompany the set? We already having a Moving Van GWP two years ago. I hope it own’t be another GWP like Corner Kiosk. Quote

It will hint that we can have Post Office later down the line. The kiosk, in my opinion, was ugly set. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I don’t really care for GWPs. Would much rather Lego spent the money giving us the best set they can. In fact they’re not really a ‘gift’ at all as the cost will have been accommodated into jacking up the set price. i was hoping the music shop rumours would be somewhere that sells musical instrument and hopefully providing us with some new moulded instruments like the Jazz Club’s double bass. However, the Star Trek set includes a character with a brick built trombone - Lego choosing the cheap option yet again. Quote

I do not think I agree (if I understood you correctly). I do not think the GWP has anything to do with the budget of the bigger set, they only last a short period and only a few will get them when buying the bigger set during its shelf time. However I agree it is a "gift" since you have to pay full retail price for the bigger set to get it instead of waiting some month and probably get a much higher discount than the "value" of the GWP I try to get the modular GWP if I can for cheap (without buying the big set on day 1), but have a much more relaxed attitude towards GWP these days. I like to get them when I buy PAB, but I usually do not buy sets for full price from Lego and if I miss out of most GWP in a year its fine by me Must be a very attractive Castle or Pirates GWP if I actively will go in to get it. I don’t believe Lego are just simply giving away things away out of the goodness of their heart. GWPs are far more prevalent these days to try to justify the enormous increases in price in recent years, which will have been altered to factor in giving away so many sets ‘for nothing’. It’s a marketing ploy to make people think they are getting something more and yes, those that buy earlier will benefit whereas those that don’t may miss out (or actually benefit from a different GWP available at a later date). The specific GWP may not be linked to the cost of specifically that set, but it is quite naive to think customers don’t end up paying for them in the end. It’s just a case of having to play the game to make sure as a customer you feel you are getting something more than the next customer. The same with double points weekends - it’s all designed to make sure as a fan base we spend more overall. Lego doesn’t care two hoots if it’s fair or not but it’s no ‘gift’! Quote

Eh, I don’t know if i agree or disagree with you…. Sometimes, modular GWPs are cool, like Vintage Taxi, Moving Truck/Van, Retro Food Truck becuase of some neat building techniques. But some of them include stickers, which it’s a shame. Last time we saw a vehicle included in a. Regular set was Downtown Diner in 2018. If you want a vehicle included in a modular building set, the price might go up for another $10 or $15. When I was in Japan, I bought a few and they gave out some items like a cool Mt. Fuji origami and cute mouse decoration. Yet, Lego GWPs are sometimes lame. It depends on your buying preferences. And I agree with Roebuck that GWPs has nothing to do wiht the biggest sets’ budget. I don’t know when we will ever see a Post Office set but I do think a postal truck GWP might “relieve” us from impatience after waitiing for so long until we get a modular post office set. To me, I like kiosk becuase of its appearance but I don’t like stickers. Obviously it’s a GWP so…. Also, I don’t like he fact that I don’t know here to put it into the city somewhere. I would like to see more vehicles, please. Quote
HibiscusDrive Posted November 13 Posted November 13 I don't care for vehicle GWPs because they don't fit the scale of my town, but that's just me. And I do know they complete the set for other builders. I do get a lot of value out of GWP that I can use the parts for. A few I'm thinking of is the Botanical Garden gate, which gave me a lot of good pieces to add to my Botanical Garden's flower beds. The Jane Austen set and the Books Are My Passion (I think this one was a GWP) gave me a lot of good extra pieces for interiors, etc. Actually Botanical Garden Gate & Books Are My Passion came out together, and the potted plant in the BAMP set saved me as I needed those leaf pieces for my flower beds. The Jane Austen set has a bookshelf, piano, fireplace and a few good pieces that make good art for an art gallery. I have modded each and every modular set in some way. And a lot of times the GWP give extra pieces that I normally wouldn't just order from Bricklink. Quote
RichardGoring Posted November 14 Posted November 14 There is a new Ideas competition to design a vendor for a modular street that will be turned into a future GWP. 150-200 pieces and no vehicles allowed. Quote
HibiscusDrive Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Watch everyone flock to the idea that the winner will be what the new modular will be based on! For example, had the news kiosk that was gwp with Tudor Corner won the competition, everyone would think the coming modular was going to be a newspaper office. In reality, the Tudor Corner + haberdasher didn't have anything to do with the news kiosk. Quote

I don't know if it's a good thing vehicles aren't allowed, meaning Lego themselves will be designing the GWP vehicles, or a bad thing, meaning vehicles are a GWP of the past and they are fully invested in vendors for now on. I loved getting a classic gwp car with my modular building so I'm hoping they keep it up. Quote
