Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Contrary to popular belief, I heard it's based on the New 52 comics. If it was based on BTB, it would have the logo on it and some different characters. Oh no, if you've seen the New 52 Batsuit and the Beware the Batman Batsuit, there's no question that they're different. That is beyond a shadow of a doubt a Beware the Batman tie-in. I don't think that GL will have anything extraordinaire, though. I would be happy with this Chima shield (or something like it) and a melee weapon of some sort, but... Honestly, I'd rather not (for the most part) have him with any kind of handheld single part in trans-green. I want something big and brick-built. Heck, I'd love to have just a little box of various trans-green parts to build cool stuff with for Green Lantern! I like the kinda thing they did in Lego Batman 2, where he was making trains and ramming them into people or smashing giant fists on them or using giant baseball bats and stuff. Really big, fun things you could only really do if you had a ring that let you make anything by thinking about it. Quote
Samiens Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 There's no doubt that the batmobile is based on Beware the Batman. The suit is styled exactly like BTB (the most notable difference to the new 52 is the use of an arched gold utility belt compared to a new 52 more familiar design, plus the Bat logo itself is slightly different) but the colouring is strange- BTB is an all black batsuit (more like the drawn image we saw on a off a while ago) than the grey we actually got. This could be down to the difficulty of printing a black logo on black suit, wanting more colour variation between the suits in the wave or, somewhat speculatively, the emergence of a failing cartoon and a recolour to take us closer to a new 52 suit. Legofan1994 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Hey guys i'm going to the lego store but i have to choose between the steamroller or the captain america set, which one do you think is better? Quote

The Joker1 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Bad news for me guys, my order for Hulk Lab Smash got delayed, and guess what - SO DID MANHUNTER! That's interesting as I too ordered the lab smash, Which got delayed until the 27th i think, Yet they sent me a separate package with just the manhunter and 1 collectible figure i ordered with it. (in a huge box that seemed very wasteful for 2 figures) Quote
Legofan1994 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Just arrived to my house and I'm already building the steamroller, I couldn't resist and i grabbed some Pick a Brick and they gave me my MARTIAN MANHUNTER Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 This might be a dumb question, but we are getting a winter wave in December/January, correct? What could we expect to see in that wave? I know its quite a ways away, but I'm just so excited to see if there's anymore X-Men or Fantastic Four in our future. Quote
Legofan1994 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Maybe, who knows what the future awaits, everything can happen but i would certainly love to see Fantastic 4 sets Quote
Cammo Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Isnt that just a month or 3-4 away from yhe avengers 2? My guess mostly sets based in that movie + a x-men or fantastic 4. A similar wave like the first Marvel wave. To be short. As for DC... I really dont know... a Green Lantern set perhaps? Quote

It looks like a standard, unlike the Marvel sets - these come in a few waves and divided into spring and summer. Quote

I think that it's the fact that you can't put black on black. It's the same case for the Dark Knight Batman figs. The cartoon wasn't "failed" when this set happened (and frankly I don't feel it was failed at any point, contrary to Cartoon Network's ridiculous expectations that two episodes of any show should be shitting out Adventure Time money) Either way, it's cancelled now with one final episode on DVD that will never see the light of broadcast television, simply because Cartoon Network would rather glorify their abomination known as Teen Titans Go than let a show finish off with some respect, or even more so find its audience. (Tell me any TV show was best and wildly successful in its first season, really.) (Well, besides Legend of Korra so far.) Quote

The steam roller is pretty cool but the planes a bit lacking. Quote
Legofan1994 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I know right, it is the same with spiderman like why does he need an helicopter or a trike or a car Quote

Swifty118247 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 A helicopter could potentially be useful. So could car if the person is super quick or driving fast!! But just not both Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 So could car if the person is super quick or driving fast!! But just not both Not in New York City traffic! I'm pretty sure Spidey's got the best mode of transportation on his wrists there, other than the fact that running out of web-fluid means falling to your death in most cases. Then again, the same goes for a helicopter. I think the Spider-Bike is the epitome of Spider-transport. It's small to potentially slip through land traffic, plus it can fly, plus it looks pretty cool. That bike should've been the cut-off point for Spider-Man themed vehicles. Quote
Samiens Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I quite liked BTB personally and it would have been a decent route to get some obscure villains but never mind! I also quite like the Batplane.. Quote

Freddy Bricker Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I too enjoyed BtB to an extent. But I guess obscure characters are never such big draws. "There's a reason they're obscure, and its because they're uninteresting." I see that one a lot. It would apper that the general populace doesn't understand that a character can truly be interesting without being plastered over every advertisement. Quote
gundamz Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 What are your thoughts on the new soon-to-be-released X-Men set? I think it is one of the worst I have seen in terms of price/pieces ratio ($49.99 for 330ish bricks), but is one of the best I have seen in terms of action and cool minifigures. Think it's worth it? If Crimson Avenger got the same push Batman got, we'd still know who Crimson Avenger was. Look no further than Blue Beetle. Ten years ago, nobody knew who the Blue Beetle was. Now he's one of DC's most recognizable characters. He's even on the Warner Animation mural! Quote
