I don't think it's based off that comic cover. The Spidey shaped like a heart appears a lot throughout the comics on shirts, signs, and even as tattoos, and there is a lot of real world female apparel that has that logo on it.

On another note though, I doubt that is the figure we would get in the set. I imagine we would get a Mary Jane that looks more like the USM one.

Edit: And of course when I don't quote the two above posts I get sent to the next page

Hmm, Well that is our new mould so it's not one we already have in bad lighting. I would sadly say that it is a new one, It looks as though he belongs in a comic style set (exclusive)? Remember we saw early riddler and Harley before we even knew of the funhouse....

I'm 90% sure that's the Junior set version. The larger mask is for safety reasons with younger children.

I thought that the Junior set would be a place to stick overstock pieces and minifigures, but I hope you're right. Are you sure the mask is larger?

you could be right, just from the look it does seem to fit

Oh, no, it's not larger. I'm just going crazy. Move along people!

I still think the color variation is for the Junior sets, though. A lot of the "toddler" Batman toys I see are in that color.

That's quite cool to see really! That makes me instantly think of Brave and The Bold due to the bright colours and facial features. If that is in the junior set then I may get the set as this batman variant is pretty cool to me. Plus as far as I've heard the junior sets would be similar to the new star wars micro fighter line which I'm sure due to popular figures will be picked up by all age ranges same as this!

I don't think that is a new one (in a new color), it is just the lighting.

There's no way dark blue could turn into looking like that, no matter the lighting. That's definitely a different blue.

Any ideas on which one of Spider-Man's love interests will be in the Green Goblin set?

Tigra.

The Heli has two cockpit seats and I doubt they would let one of them go to waste with nobody in it. My second guess would be Power Man but since Sir Lego said it´s definitely a girl in the set I guess he would have been able to differentiate girly hair and no hair.

Mask is identical with the Nolanman mold they use since March/April 2012. The fig is the same blue Batman as always just in regular blue like Spidey.

I was hoping for a more serious Batman this time around instead of the cartoony Adam West looking one. Maybe like this.

^ do you mean Adam west/Burt ward?

Also that shade of blue does look good, but I'll have to see the rest of the set before I say I will buy it. Thanks for sharing.

That blue grey batman looks more like the classic comics Batman up through the 80's. Heck! He wears that outfit through a good chunk of Frank Millers Dark Knight Returns ("why do you think I wear a target on my chest?") until it is damaged and he pulls out the older look. Besides, the black outfits didn't really show up until the Michael Keaton movies came out. So I am not sure they can honestly be defined as the proper look of the more "serious" a Batman?

Yeah, I was hoping for something darker as well, maybe a new 52 version to go along with Batgirl and Nightwing. But I suspect we might see one more variation next year. If indeed this blue variation is a part of the juniors line than that means that in the superheroes theme itself there will be only two variations when we usually get three a year in the sets. So I'm hoping to see one more. Granted it's just a theory based on two years of sets which is hardly definite proof, but I can be hopeful. And Lego does have an affinity for putting out as many variations as they can.

On another note I'm really hoping that they give us classic Robin in the juniors set. I never picked up any of the original Batman sets, so I don't have a Dick Grayson Robin.

That would indeed be awesome. A classic Robin with the lighter blue Batman would fit in with the rest of my Super Friends very nicely.
