Duvors Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Despite it having been a clear day and now past noon, a fog seems to hang across the Mopag camp, veiling things in a mist that cut vision. Nerwen wondered if it was a spell to protect the camp from Pongcanae or something more mundane. Speaking to the dwarf trailing her she said. I wonder if you would be better at leading the discussion. They may not be on good terms with the elves here and might assume I am like them. Nerwen stood to the side, her hand out, making room for Ambassador Wineglihm to pass by. Let's play without pix. I'm keen to keep moving. "Very well Nerwen, but I must warn you that I have a bad record with such things."(OCC:Give me photos or give me death!) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 "Hello, man. Are you a merchants from outside?" asks smiling Alexader "No, I am a representative of the king of Patuqun, a nation far to the north west of Uland." Despite it having been a clear day and now past noon, a fog seems to hang across the Mopag camp, veiling things in a mist that cut vision. You approach the outskirts of the village, where numerous tents are lined up around clearings where hoplites sit around wells and smoldering fires. "Halt!" (OCC:Give me photos or give me death!) QM Note:A rock falls on Throlar and he is Knocked Out. Quote
Duvors Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Throlar gets up and throws the rock at The Voice In The Sky. Quote
Flipz Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 "Actually, I'm going to move ahead on my own, I'll meet you guys there. You know, reinforce the 'hired by you but independent' thing. May be a waste of time, but you never know." Arthur shrugs, then heads to the Marketplace. OOC: I'll be at the D23 Expo all weekend, which means no activity from me during that time. I'm fine visiting the marketplace without pics, I'd just like to get a little more done before tomorrow (first day of the expo). Quote
Sandy Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Ellaria stares after Arthur as he dashes off alone - again. "Uh, I wonder if it was smart to get separated from the others, after all. I hope at least you don't abandon me, Alvialyn." The two women then make their way to the Marketplace. Quote
Zepher Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 "Hello, Lord Barbathan." Boomingham offers his hand in greeting. "I'm Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Slayer of Bluehood and Steerpike, King of the Lost Kingdom, and, for the time being, one of the chaps tasked with stabilizing the city. Now, I know you're all just passing through, but I'd have to assume that you've met a few of the villagers and the troops around the city. Mopag, those fur-balls, the elves. Given your professional opinion, are there any that the city might benefit from as opposed to others?" Boomingham lowers his voice hopefully, but it still carries. "I'm also keeping my eyes out for a resistance of sorts, or citizen brigade. When you can leave the power with those who live there, you should - assuming they've got heads on their shoulders and seem like they'd be able to rule." Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 "I must confess that I am a foreigner, so I may not yet have seen enough of the factions to make a fair assessment of them; that is, in fact, part of the reason I'm here. I find the Pongcanae to be barbarians; they have been attacking ships as well as settlements on land. I believe that the Mopag are here to drive off the Pongcanae. But I'm primarily interested in the elves, who my king believes are remnants of a group unfit to rule." Quote
Chromeknight Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Nerwen watches as a stone arcs out of the mist and with uncanny aim bounces off Throlar's helmet. After regaining his feet, the Ambassador hurls the rock back in the direction it came. Nerwen says quietly, I do hope you did not hit any of the Mopags we have come to speak to. The sentry's appearance and challenge was expected but sudden. Well master dwarf, lead on. Quote
Duvors Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 "Very well, master elf." Turning to the guard Throlar says "Greetings, my name is Throlar Wineghilm, ambassador to... well that is a rather confidential matter,"Throlar smiles disarmingly at the guard"I wish to speak to your leader, Warlord Karhedin the Awesome, on a matter of great import, please allow us to enter." Quote
Chromeknight Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Nerwen's eyes narrowed slightly as he addressed her as master. Pitching her voice low and quiet she said to her companion Perhaps you might mention Commander Pinnock? That we assisted him earlier? Quote
Zepher Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 "Well you and I are of the same opinion there, I can assure you of that. I can't have anyone removing someone in rule without having a person to hand the baton off to, though. That's where the problem is, really. You and the Mopag don't seem to want it, and the elves appear to be doing diddly squat to actually defend and better the city. I'll ask you again, have you made any progress with the people themselves?" Boomingham taps Alexander on the shoulder. "Hunter, perhaps you could spare me the displeasure of interrogating the green-skin?" Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 "We do not appear to want the village because we have not yet decided if we want to help it. We tracked a group of pirates to this lawless city, and my king received a message from one of our contacts that the resistance would be willing to aid our efforts to eradicate pirates in exchange for our help bringing order to the village. We came here to negotiate, but the resistance is proving impossible to locate." Quote
Wedge09 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Boomingham taps Alexander on the shoulder. "Hunter, perhaps you could spare me the displeasure of interrogating the green-skin?" "Okay, Lord." Then Alexander reaches the green-skin and ask smiling "Hey, what's up?" Quote

"Very well. Come with me." The hoplite leads you to a larger tent. Two guards stand outside it, and it has been set up with short wooden walls for a little added defense. Inside are crates and barrels and more than anything else, chests, chests filled with swords and other presumably expensive items that you cannot see. In the middle of the tent sits a table, with a map upon it. "Mysa dapnap oma, da nozzie mokie zaks." "Hata! I am Warlord Kaherdin the Awesome. What can I do for you, travelers?" In the R'kilf Inn: "Okay, Lord." Then Alexander reaches the green-skin and ask smiling "Hey, what's up?" "Up? Well, the sky is up..." Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 "Oh, yes. if I may, what brings you to this town?" asks th eleven archer "I am a merchant of sorts. Being a hobgoblin, I am hired by the lesser shipping companies in the Freeport who cannot afford to pay much, and I must safely transport their goods to the other cities on Uland. I'm waiting here for a couple days to see if the Pongcanis activity subsides a bit before heading back out." Quote
Wedge09 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 "Ah, intersting, therefore you are an outsider. Thank you, it was a pleasure to chat with you." says Alexander smiling, then Alexander returns to Lord Boominghan and says "He says he is a sort of merchant from Eubric waiting a decrease of the pongcanis raids to return back." Zepher Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 "My own commander has tasked me with finding this resistance as well." Boomingham sighs. "I suppose its best for you to remain hands off for the time being. I'll be certain to keep you in my thoughts should I find this resistance. I'm hoping we're all not just assuming its existence." Boomingham sighs again. "Thank you, chap. Hopefully I'll be seeing you around. I believe your compatriot said you were staying in a warehouse? I may come a-callin'." Boomingham steps aside and eyes the hobgoblin. "Well equipped for someone who's hiding from aggressors. What about it, Hunter? Where do you think this resistance might be?" Quote

I'll be certain to keep you in my thoughts should I find this resistance. I'm hoping we're all not just assuming its existence." Boomingham sighs again. "Thank you, chap. Chromeknight Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 The first action is to identify forces in play, both those interested in restoring the town and those who wish to plunder it. I expect you fall in the first catagory, not the second. Quote

"Nerwen is quite correct save that we mean to destroy those who plunder, not restore.""Now being an ambassador, protocol demands that I present my credentials." Throlar hands his credentials to Karhedin. "I must ask you to keep the contents of these documents secret for state reasons." (OCC:I will PM credentials to BD soon.) Quote

Where do you think this resistance might be?" "Yes, that's right, he is well equipped but lone he can't much against the pongcanis. About the resistance, they could have the headquarters in the warehouse or in the barracks." says Alexander observing a copy of the map of Bric'lin "Actually, we are closer to the warehouses, we can make a stop here first and then move to the barracks if we found nothing."
