What can bring Ninja Nin over to the dark side? Can somebody chop off one of LegoFjotten's hands or take away Donnie's bricks?

Some Ideas - hehe

We can always tempt them to join, and as we know, temptation ALWAYS leads to the dark side...

Free Stormtrooper Minifigs for defectors above 20xp rank?

Free dc-15 for recruits?

What about custom 2 x 2 stickers for SoNE imperials? I am toying with stickers, can't remember if you can use them in SoNe builds though.

Essentially, you can take whatever rank you want if you've got the XP. And higher rank doesn't really preclude any low-ranked activities - generally speaking.

IN addition, I forgot to thank VK-318. Thanks ! :classic:

Welcome Alijster and TLD !

And don't let's us forget Artizan! His builds for previous episodes have been truly incredible.

You're quite welcome, private. Somebody has to have read the briefing before the mission, so it might as well be me. (Part of the reason in-character talk has diminished is because it's an awful lot of work to make some kinds of comments in-character while keeping them comprehensible. :sceptic: )

As to earlier comments about WIP posting, I think posting our WIP's, in the topic for the actual entry, is a good thing. I used it to make improvements to my episode builds, though unfortunately, due to my lack of skill and parts it doesn't seem to have made much difference. My strategy to avoid confusing people was to note in the main post and make a comment whenever I updated the entry, and to put each stage of the build in its own spoiler tags, so the current build was there but the old builds could be located. Given my lack of skill, and my tendency to overlook issues with the build in my pride at having completed it, I for one value the ability to get feedback while I have time to update, whether it be a detailed analysis like BEAVeR's or the view from 3,000 feet like MstrOfPppts. And I value Rebel feedback, too; they've got as many good builders as we do, if not more. For those reasons, I'll probably continue to share WIP's in place.

Intercepted Rebel Transmission:

I view SONE in a similar way to GoH, in that I'm aiming to improve my building in a sci-Fi environment, and discover new techniques. It's a community, and I think that a collective attempt to help each other produce the best builds, and to stretch each other should be something we consider. Although I do like the competition!

Rebel transmission ends.

Well said! (And very well done for the sort of in-character speak, which we are a bit lacking at the moment! )

I don't know, but I for one hope it waits up a little while. I've got a freebuild or two to build before that episode, for crying out loud!

Looking forward to the next build, I'm working on freebuild for my backstory. Haven't done much MOC'ing in about 20 years, so I'm shaking a lot of rust off. Aside from my Star Wars Lego sets most of the rest of my Lego are 20-30 years old. :look: Time for this old dog to learn some new tricks!

That does look fun. Hrmm... going to need a few days to think about it!

A couple ideas that have already popped into my head: spear from relative that was on Endor, clone trooper armor or helmet, some sort of map or document. Anyone else coming up with stuff? Figure it has to be something pretty small to carry it with you.

Oops, apparently was supposed to post my freebuild in here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102295

I'm likely going with a lightsaber hilt or rifle.

Funny thing is I have a freebuild halfway going (waiting on parts now) that was going to provide an origin current story to my character and a bit of a flashback to how it began. However, the current state I was doing is already on something like 24 x 24 size and maybe bigger because it is on the Avenger or Intolerance itself, and the flashback(s) was much smaller on 16x16, because I intended to do multiple flashbacks to tell of how PB got to where he is now, all scarred, merciless and rebel-hating.

Anyway, will have to tweak to see how it goes. I might continue to use the big one as freebuild, and then lead onto the competition.

Just be careful about the lightsaber. They're highly illegal, you know. Not to say that having one couldn't be explained somehow, but it's sure to be tricky.

Same here. I've got a storyline in the wings, complete with a sidekick (romantic interest?) and a new outfit, but I'll probably have to do a bit of tweaking if I want to get everything built before the episode is over.

Yes, I know they are illegal  , but I like to challenge boundaries in a healthy way. PB won't be wielding it in any way, but let's just say he may have been a castout or reject or family black sheep, somewhere along those lines. Doesn't stop him from wanting in though :) or perhaps its those meddlesome Rebels made him this way ... we never know.

I always liked the grittier darker story telling, but that's me. Chirpy aren't my thing, otherwise I would have preferred Star Trek.

My character scene will definitely be based in part on a freebuild I was planning on doing. I'll likely just be doing a narrow view of the larger scope that the freebuild will contain. I think I have my ancestor scene too. Going to have to get going on them just to make sure it works out in bricks the way I see it in my head!

I just joined myself. Depending on your inclination you can either do a "backstory" build or the latest episode. You get 4 freebuilds per episode that can be scored. I'm not sure I get 3 more freebuilds in between now and Dec 14th, but I want to get in as many as I can to try and hit level 2 for the next episode.

So... Where should a new recruit start building? Do I start out with the latest episode?

Yep. Kodan explained it pretty well. 4 freebuilds per episode, do what you want basically in them as long as it links it with the overall SoNE theme somehow, and a build for the episode, in this case, 2, one for your character's heirloom, one of your character's ancestor using / owning the heirloom. You get until the deadline for the actual episode builds, and you get until the next episode to build freebuilds.

Hope this helps!

I'm probably 60% through my character build at this point. Had to switch from my original idea after realizing the geometry of minifigs wouldn't work with what I wanted to do. Thought of some good tweaks I need to implement tonight and hope to finish the first version then let it marinade for a few days before pictures. Will tackle the past scene next week I think. Still trying to decide whether to keep it smaller or bigger, but I think smaller will make more sense and be easier to pull off.

Got 2 different freebuild ideas kicking around right now also. Bought 9 minifigs and some heads so I have more flexibility in builds too.
