Prince Manic Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) I've done some Mods to the Lone Ranger Train Chase to make more like a Steam Locomotive, for which I wished they done it a little more better on it so here's the Mods I've done for it. All Photos were taken from iPod Touch 5th Gen Here's what I did Revised the Front to have a Satellite dish and a 1x1 round flat tile Made a simple drive rod (for until I make my own full pistion mod) Revised the Roof by removing the 1x2 with sticks on them Removed the bricks that snapped under the roof (Original Model didn't had them) Added in Four Windows in the Frames I love it how I did this to bring out a Locomotive with my own Taste of Modding here. The Dutch Guy Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Very well done, my compliments and thanx for the idea. Quote
Prince Manic Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 Very well done, my compliments and thanx for the idea. You're quite welcome I've always wanted to make it more like a Locomotive, still trying to make a working Piston system for it while keeping the two front wheels Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I found the solution to the front truck with pistons was to make the middle part that connects it to the rest of the train really thin and to use the very small train wheels as well, then you have plenty of room. There is a photograph in my post on the subject. Quote

Either the small wheels like H.A., dropping one set of pilot wheels like my mod, pushing the cylinders out to 10 wide, or moving the cylinders above the pilot wheels... oh... there is one other way. Make all but one set of the driver wheels flangless, rigidly mount the rear pilot wheels to the frame (so the rigidly mounted pilot wheels are effectively a single truck with the flanged driver wheel), and then put the front pilot wheels on a pivot. In this last case the trade off means a very long wheel base. Quote

I've tried my own and it was good but with the 6m stick flange sticking a bit on some holders looks kinda weird so I'll try my own solution - I'll look for it later and make my own reworkings. I did created on one point to move the two coupling plate and remove the brick that held the wheels out and used another plate to stack that up then I used a 2x3 and stick one under the 2nd couple plate then put 1x2 white plates and snapped that under here it holds the main driver wheels itself on the front of that. I taken a picture of it once but I'm scrapping the original Idea I had for it. Edited November 2, 2013 by Prince Manic Quote
