Pate-keetongu Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 The town of Brassport, 1868. A highly industrial city with all sorts of things going on from train heists to basement communist revolutions. Outlaws Pantolomeus T. Ongu and Edwin Pillingshot McBlaine hijack some important goods from train with their stolen Tri-Copter. Prime Minister Churston Windmill with his wife and assistants at the front of his house. People's house, with craft shop inside. Little Tomer earns his first pennies by cleaning General-Governor's boots. The MOC measures around 64x48 studs and is the biggest MOC I've ever built. I wanted to create an environment for steampunk minifigures to take some photographs and, well, tell stories. The more detailed backstories can be found on my blog Cyclopic Bricks, as it would feel a bit silly to copy/paste them there. More photos can be seen on the Flickr set and Brickshelf folder so this page loads in decent time. I wish you enjoyed your visit to steampunked Victorian era! C&C are welcome, but you probably already guessed that. Quote
WaysofSorting Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Great job. I like the space available in this environment - indeed for you to work in and tell stories. Open and playable, room for lots of details to be added and to flesh out the space as the stories evolve. Enjoyed the blog - I'd seen on flickr some of your FigBarfs and enjoy all the backstories - glad to see some of those characters made their way into this location. For whatever it's worth - (I hope you'll take it as a compliment!) this reminds me of some of the late 70's/early 80's fisher price "little people" play sets. The open backs and modestly detailed interiors let kids play without dictating too much - the kids could still inform much of the play with their own imaginations. Here's a Buzzfeed list that has some of them. http://www.buzzfeed.com/briangalindo/22-awesome-fisher-price-little-people-playsets-you-wish-you I was specifically thinking of the Sesame Street set when I commented above - it's on the list at number 9. DraikNova Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 The Tri-Copter is what stands out from this amazing diorama. Great use of those joint parts. Quote
