CMP Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 "Seems like that's the reaction to all my stories get these days..." mumbled Atramor, scratching his chin. "Maybe. All I know is that it's "ancient, all-powerful, all-knowin' races" leavin' behind crap like this that inspires a good chunk of the crazy bastards in this world. Frankly, as long as it remains sealed there's gonna be some nut tryin' to pry it open. I'd rather just get it over with and pop it open ourselves." Quote
Sandy Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 "So, Misters Sultan and... err, Daffodil, what's your take on the situation in the city at the moment? Lots of civil unrest about, am I right? I've just arrived here with my companions, so I'm curious to know whatever you can tell me." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 "Your brother sounds a great bit like the King I used to know." Boomingham licks his lips again. "And you sound quite a bit like a better alternative. Tell me, Macros, is there anything I can do to help you? You're plans sound like they were made to get specifically at my heart, so I wouldn't mind giving a helping hand if there's one to give." "This king of yours, where did he reign? Help me... I doubt it... Perhaps... Perhaps there is something. You and your... companions are quite colorful and fierce looking. It happens to be I have an evening planned in a few days in the no doubt fruitless hope to persuade some of my brother more stubborn and money-grabbing supporters. I heard we are still lacking in the security department. Perhaps you and your friends will take the job?" Quote
Zepher Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 "I'd be interested, and my companions generally have their ears open when I speak. As I said, that young beauty is my daughter," Boomingham points to Ellaria, frowning and then smiling as he sees her speaking with the others, "and she already seems to have made friends with your friends. The boy over there at the bar knows to do what I say - and I have found, with time, that's he's also a likable enough chap. The little lady beside him is someone I trust with my life. Sometimes, she agrees to my plans, too. As for the Ogre-" a shrug- "well, what won't he do for some gold? Where should we find you, my friend, and when?" Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) "I didn't mean to cause offence, I would be very interested in hearing about your exploits. I am tempted to agree with your opinion on opening the vault, that is." - "Very good. Come to my villa in two days. It would be good if you'd arriven by noon." Boomingham gains directions to Macros' Villa! - "Civil unrest? Not more than usual, to be completely honest." "When citizens are restless, they like to acquire weapons, wouldn't it be that you sold those, Sultan? My, my." "Are you saying I'm the cause for any civil unrest? Anyways lass, I'll deal with the rosy-cheeked smartass later, if you're talking about the viscount situation, it's fine. Macros will get his position soon, if the Gods want it." Zepher Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 "We will see you then, my friend. Though I'll have to have my daughter write it down in her book of appointments and aspirations. My head is like a rotten apple, all this gunk always falls out." Quote
Pandora Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Nyx sits, speechless, as Skrall takes over her conversation. All she can do is just stare at him as she tries to gather her thoughts. Quote
Sandy Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 "Good to know. Me and my friends would like to take a look at your wares soon, Sultan, if you have the time. And we can even spar with you guys for a discount, if that's how you roll." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Nyx sits, speechless, as Skrall takes over her conversation. All she can do is just stare at him as she tries to gather her thoughts. "No need to be gapin'. Gold talks, miss. I'm sure the gentleman has seen many a pretty face before yours walked in." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 "I see. I should go back to my company. We'll see each other soon." - "That's five too many, would the gentleman like a drink? Okay." The man whispers something in Skrall's ear. - "Come to my shop by the morrow. Up in the Smith's district. The Silver Anvil. No discounts, that's not how we roll. The sparring was only because I had some weapons to show Macros, and he suggested to try them out. Then the cheeky bugger picks up that damned stick of him." Quote
Sandy Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 "Can't blame a girl for asking, tehehe", Ellaria says, giggling some more. She then winks at Daffodil. "Although it sounds like you were afraid that you would lose to a girl... Anyway, we will come by your shop come tomorrow. It was nice to make your acquaintance, misters. I am Elpis Blackhood, just so you know." Ellaria waves goodbye to the men and walks to the green-haired woman leaning against the wall. "The men around here sure can't fight, don't you think?" Quote
Pandora Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 "No need to be gapin'. Gold talks, miss. I'm sure the gentleman has seen many a pretty face before yours walked in." "I'm well aware of that, Ogre. I'm also well aware that you don't announce your intention to just buy anyway at the beginnings of a negotiation." Nyx turns back to the barman "Gold for information, please." and she slides 10 gold across the counter. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 "The gentleman's got a business to run and prices listed accordingly. I don't think he's in the mood for haggling, so no need to scutter around the subject." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 The woman sizes up Ellaria, then raises a green eyebrow, and answers in accented common: "Not just the men." - The bartender whispers something to Nyx after taking her money. - Meanwhile Boomingham seems to be zoning out. Quote
Sandy Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 The woman sizes up Ellaria, then raises a green eyebrow, and answers in accented common: "Not just the men." Ellaria is taken aback a little, but tries to recover from the blow with dignity. "Looks can be deceiving, my sister. I am Elpis Blackhood, the leader of the Blackhood Mercenary Group. Are you a brawler, then?" Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 "I was not putting your capability into question. A brawler? No. I can hold my own though. I am not as good as Macros, but few are." The woman shrugged. Quote
Sandy Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 "You know Lord Macros personally, then? What's your take on the situation in the city right now?" Ellaria asks. Finding allies to battle the Wolfgang proved to be harder than she initially thought. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 "Personally, you could say that. I am his fiancée. The situation in the city? No different from yesterday, a month ago, or even a year ago. Strivvi's always in turmoil, but even that get's boring." Quote
CMP Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 "No, no, you've got good reason not to ask...my stories just seem to be gettin' more and more ridiculous these days. Or maybe just significant...nah. Ridiculous about fits the bill." Atramor scratched his head as he waited for the party to finish their business in the bar. McCafferey dug her talons into his shoulder. ~'This city.....reeks of humanity.'~ The regulator just grumbled. Quote
Sandy Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 "Personally, you could say that. I am his fiancée. The situation in the city? No different from yesterday, a month ago, or even a year ago. Strivvi's always in turmoil, but even that get's boring." Ellaria nods politely. "Then I want to wish happiness to both of you. It is our group's intention to make this city a bit better place in the near future. If you can hint about any resources we might use to fight off the rising criminal lords of the Wolfgang from this city, we would be very grateful." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 "Criminal lords? Wolfgang? Never heard of them. I suggest you leave keeping order to the army and the guards. Strivvi's been here for a while, I doubt it needs outsiders to protect them from crime lords. No offense" - Purple walked up to the heroes: "It seems you have an in with Macros. Excellent. Remember that pass you need to exit and return to the city? Macros is of course one of the people with the ability to grant one. I will discuss with Mortimer some more. I'll see you back at the safehouse in the morrow, or continue with your investigation if you think that will help. I have not been able to locate Zoe yet, but I do hope I am getting close." What do the heroes want to do? It seems they have the ability to do whatever for the while. Quote
CMP Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Atramor shrugged. "I'm ready to head back, but again I'd like to stop at the blacksmith when we get a chance tomorrow. I've heard a lot about this Darksteel stuff." Quote
Zepher Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 "I'm also ready to go." Boomingham nods to the others and then steps outside the bar to wait for them. Quote
Sandy Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Ellaria thanks the green-haired lady, a little miffed that she didn't even introduce herself. She then rounded up everyone in the party. "It looks like we should head to the market district tomorrow, but we still have some time to spend. We could check out the harbor for the stolen ship and the treacherous captain, if you guys still feel up for it. Or should we just call it a night?" Quote
