Have fun there guys! I'd like to be able to make it to one of these sometime, especially one with a GoH display, but I still can't convince my wife to drive that far for a Lego show. I'm hoping to make it to Bricking Bavaria in Munich this year (it would be the first lego show I've even visited). Does anyone from here make it down to that show, to display or visit? I'm guessing not since it's in November but thought it would be worth asking.

I'll be there as usual, albeit not with GoH stuff.

@milo: where do you live? I'll be driving from Kassel via Dortmund, Essen and Venlo to Antwerpen. (that's closer than Munich for me)

I live in Augsburg, so Munich is actually very close for me. Antwerp is over 7 hours away, which is closer than I had expected, but with a two year old, it's not that realistic.

@Rolli, I hope to see you there!

I'll be in charge with setting up the (GOH)-Castle-Lay-out at Brickmania Antwerp (14&15 November, Antwerp Belgium).

just thought I'd bump this topic summer being almost over ...

Anyway, I'll be at the BMA again, this time sleeping there, so who else is?

yeeeeeeey!!!! Are you gonna sleep in your car, at my couch or in a hostel?

I`m at BMA, probably hauling along my (by then) 3 Lord of the Rings and a Harry Potter display, amongst some other things.

Got some GOH-builds you can take to BMA?

I'll be there as usual, albeit not with GoH stuff.

Rolli!!! Are you coming to Antwerp?

As others already said, 14&15 November :sweet: It would be great if you want to participate!

I'm going to Skaerbaek Fan Weekend again, but probably won't bring any GoH builds this year.

Me too!!! I am taking a part of Stedor with me

You want to participate in Antwerp? you can always sleep at my place :classic:

Yurps, but not that much though, was waiting for news if there would be one.

However, I can chunk down the displays next to the lay out if you want, giving an extra `pair of eyes` and an option of escape for those that want to stroll around, so I`ll get in touch once the forms roll out

I want to go to Pubs in Antwerpen so I'll sleep in the Car

And I'll bring my,city as well as something else

Just tell me (pm or so) what builds you can take with you :)

That's for Sieger to tell where he is going to put the table for your displays. So maybe it's not a bad idea to ask him to put your tables as close together as possible

Yay! Looking forward to finally meeting you in person next weekend then! Are you staying in one of the Skaerbaek cabins also?

First time in Skaerbaek?

Would have been nice to go to Antwerp but that will have to be another year. I'm taking over the parental leave in November and that boss (my wife) would be much harder to get to approve a few days of vacation than my present manager at work

Only two days left until Skaerbaek Fan Weekend! Should we arrange a GoH meetup at some time when everyone is there but no official events are ongoing?

I'll be there from Friday afternoon and will participate in the Swebrick Post-apocalyptic landscape collab (no GoH MOCs this time :cry_sad:).

I guess there will always be beer in Cabin 1 in any case, so make sure to bring a PaB cup

Sounds like a good idea. I'll be around from Thursday evening until Tuesday morning. I won't be there Friday afternoon since I'm picking up a friend in Billund and I'm also attending most of the workshops/talks/etc.

If there are no scheduled activities on Friday night which I have missed, then maybe we should aim for meeting up at maybe 20:00 Friday night?

Mpya Stedor sounds like the natural meeting point in that case

I really wish I was financially able to go to something with my fellow GOH builders. Even though I'm a teetotaler, I'd probably be the one to instigate a lip sync battle. Oh, well. Blow the roof off some place for us that can't go, guys.

Gosh, I must sound complicated, sorry - I have friends over for dinner on Friday night so I don't think I could make it. Plus there's usually something going on in Cabin 1, not sure if that time is that great.

Ok, we'll just have to improvise then...but I'm fairly sure I'll end up hanging around in Cabin 1 on Friday night as well

Yup indeed my first time :)

Well, I don't really know what happens when that weekend so I'll see what the moment brings :) I haven't signed up for workshops etc so I have a lot of freetime (and to please my girlfriend, so we can enjoy the accomodation there) :)

Maybe we can meet just before the saturday night activity?

If you are setting up Mpya Stedor sometime during the Friday afternoon/evening i suppose I'll drop by :classic:

So I had an idea recently of creating some kind of a handout/brochure or poster to have at Lego events to advertise GoH, showcasing some of the best MOCs posted here, and explain the concept briefly to attract more interest and possibly new members. If someone were to make a nice one and post the file anyone could print them out for local shows or even at toy/hobby shops where other AFOLs could potentially see them. Any thoughts?

Splendid idea! If I were to find time for it, I would give it a try perhaps.

I think it's a great idea. Don't know if I'd be up for doing it myself (or more correctly, I'm not sure if I should given all the other stuff I have to do!) but I could help collect some of the best MOCs together. Were you thinking something like a 3 fold brochure? The front should probably show case two of the very best MOCs (but I wouldn't do overview pictures, just scene-style closeups to go for a total immersion feel) and then you could have one flap for each guild (say two relatively small pictures each), and one page (the back) with a rundown on the way challenges work + sign up details, if that can all fit on one page! It would be nice to have the GoH map on there two, maybe as a watermark background for the inside? Just some ideas.
