Jundis Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 As we now have three different sizes of tractor tires, how about we get a TRACTOR please? :D Preferable models: A tractor with medium sized front and big tires in the back + trailer AND a backhoe with small ones in the front and medium ones in the back. ( @1gor I know, you need an intermediate diameter :-P) Also, I hope for a truck with twin tires (49.5x14) at the rear axle in the same scale as the 42098 (2019), 42112 (2020) and 42128 (2021). My favorite would be a logging truck with pneumatic crane Last years first reliable leaks about next years models came on 21th of September... hopefully we get news a little sooner this year :-) Quote

Yeah. We haven't had one in fifteen years, and even then it was the only A-model harvester in existence! And no, the 42102 B does not count - it looks more like a windrower. 1gor Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 @Jundis about extra sizes of tractor tires, I'm always for it, but since this weekend I see that lots of MOCs that I planned could be made with actual tires that I have in my inventory only if I switched my models to 1:16 scale which is doable even to include some of actual Fastrac tractors (meaning 4000 or 8000 line). In this article I got some information that up to 1,7m big tires can be used on Fastrac 4220 (limitation is actually availability of certain tires in markets where Fastrac 4000 is sold; most of markets like Croatia have 710/60R34, or 650/65R34 or 460/85R38 tires which work perfect on Fastrac 4220 but are not 60kmh but 40kmh version, so you can have Fastrac that drives only 40kmh! - got confirmation from local distributor yesterday). To recapitulate Lego tires that I use for that scale: Truck tire 62.4 - 315/70R22.5 Unimog tire 94.3 - 440/80R30 or 20.5-25 (usual industrial tires on front end loaders or mobile cranes) Tractor tires: 56mm - 12 - 16.5 (Bobcats, JCB skid steers...small telehandlers) 81mm - 500/70R24 bigger telehandlers like JCB Loadall 560-80 107mm - 18.4-38, 460/85R38, 600/70R34, 650/65R34, 710/60R30... So there are lots of possibilities (but not much time) Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 What if the surge of neon yellow parts is a foreshadowing for an upcoming huge model in neon yellow, presumable a supercar Quote

howitzer Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 An ambulance would be really cool. Something is probably coming, as Airbus didn't really need the fourth colour. Quote

And with the 42124 we already got a recent rally car... Maybe some forest machinery with neon yellow accents? (just wishful thinking....) Quote

1gor Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 @Jundis forest machine like this would be possible IMHO as Lego set only manual...I have plan to make RC wf Trac (second generation for some time - perfect for 1:15 scale and red / lime combination), but without sbrick or BuWizz it is not doable (2 steering functions; articulated and front axle steering, one for drive, front hook, rear stabilizers and hook, grab arm that has telescopic and rotating feature...) gyenesvi Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 I also speculated that the new yellow diff gears were actually introduced for something RC, maybe something that has planetary hubs but is faster than the Zetros was. Or simply something that does not have planetaries but needs a more solid diff. Unfortunately, I don't really believe that Lego will go for something really fast like a Trophy truck, I think that's kind of against their policies. But maybe they realized that the Zetros came out not very playable. I mean its speed is actually good for crawling on real rocks, but that's again something that stock Lego sets are not designed for, so that slow gearing is kind of useless in stock models. Anyways, I hold my fingers crossed for something (off-road) RC for next year. Quote
1gor Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 @gyenesvi I think that Ferrari differential is best of both worlds (differential from Rally car and from 42099), so I have a feeling (which of course could be wrong) that it could replace previous two; for vehicles that are slow but need torque there is reduction hub and for others like buggy (or trucks) just differential without reduction hubs Quote

With 2 buggy motors 1:1 to the diff, and planetary hubs, it just gives good speed and a lot of torque at the same time :) Also, a setup without planetaries but with slower diff gearing is also an interesting one. So I don't think it would just replace everything. Furthermore, the old 3-gear diff could be easily locked, while the new one cannot be. The 12:28T diff could be replaced with solid gears in the same ratio, but the 14:22 ratio cannot even be built with fixed gears, so you cannot build a car with a locked rear diff but open front for example. About planetary hubs; in my experience it is the only way I could use 2 PF XL motors to run continuously; of course I have to upgear it 36 to 12 or at least 40 to 24 (if there is only suspension arm 4 studs long and not 5 to make narrow enough axle) Quote
thekoRngear Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 A 350ish parts Mini Golf Cart with a completely different official B model is what I want to see as a future set. Even for 300ish parts Lego might not consider a B model. Sigh Quote

I'm sure more can be thought of. Quote
