I am a new user but have strong opinions. I personally would love to have my own Technic 1994 Skyline GTR, but I'm pricing it out to build it myself... I would waste way too much money. I want a custom color for all the pieces (don't ask why it's a pretty color) and I would definitely build it in 1:8 scale so lots of pieces. The first generation Skyline GT-R was initially available as a four-door sedan equipped with a 2.0L inline-six S20 engine which was rated at 160 HP, with a 5-speed manual transmission but I would upgrade the transmission and give it a different engine https://www.autoevolution.com/news/toyota-4a-ge-lego-engine-is-sweet-and-functional-video-77804.html# I would love to use this engine mainly for looks but otherwise i would keep it as close as possible to the original car

No worries.
Welcome to EB.
You can use search, and there is a pinned topic with a list of most important topics.

I will merge this with the topic Maaboo suggested.

but on the subject of japanese cars built in legos... how come we can't have this: https://www.autoevolution.com/news/toyota-4a-ge-lego-engine-is-sweet-and-functional-video-77804.html# in this: https://thelegocarblog.com/2017/07/15/initial-d-ae86/#google_vignette it looks like scaling would be an issue but scale up the car and the engine might fit... I wonder if i can build a mockup of this online... I might have an update on this soon. maybe I can put these together, although a transmission will be needed. If anybody  has an intrest   in this I might have instructions for it in a few days (or weeks).

I'd like a Manitou telehandler with rotating upper structure. And of course a massive JCB backhoe loader. And a 7-axle Liebherr mobile crane with outriggers like in 8053

We already have yours

What if I tell you my earlier creation is just a JCB Backhoe and not a mini JCB Backhoe

Yes please!

At this point, I'll be happy with anything that is not an overexpensive car with a gearbox or worse: barely no functions.

That set from last year with the sun + moon + earth was great and different to what Technic usually has and I loved it. More of the same please LEGO (i.e. sets that are different to what we usually get with Technic)

Yeah agreed, more kinetic sculptures would be really cool

Electric Rope Shovel for Flagship 🤞🙏🙏

Long time ago I mentioned the idea of a "Classics Line" in Lego Technic where exactly such older,  technically more interesting machines would be placed. Like steam roller, old long-nose trucks, old tractors, classic cars (from the 10s/20s/30s)...

yes but more pneumatics 42128 had a lot of linear acuators where there could have been more pneumatic cylinders and fix the turn table for the crane arm because the gears skip often

Usual January wave, nothing big (as of now), but 42217 will be 2025's blue Corvette. I saw that leak, too, and I think that would be 42216.
