In the spirit of recent "flagship" sets such as 60233 Donut Shop Opening60203 Ski Resort, and 60200 Capital City, it'd be really cool to see a "Cruise Night" themed playset within that vein. Such a set's content could include structural builds of a '50s-inspired Drive-In Diner, a small Auto Repair Shop & Gas Pump, and a Single-Car Auto Dealership Showroom, with maybe around four automobile build that could include a '70s-era Muscle Car, a little T-Bucket Hot Rod, a 1950's-inspired Convertible, and a Modern-Day Two-Seat Roadster to showcase at the Dealership. :classic:

@Digger of Bricks Eh.....knowing City, they'll probably make it present day related. But along with that, I also have an idea for a flagship set. Here is.

60301 Shopping District - This would basically establish the some of the shops and restaurants in Lego City. Buildings included; a pizzeria front, small grocery store front, two story department store front and post office front. Vehicles included; pizza car, food transporter, limo and postal van. Minifigures included: pizza chef, grocery store owner, chauffeur, postal worker, pizza deliverer (nod to Pepper from Lego Island anyone?), truck driver and various civilians.

Why of course it would, hence why I included a modern-day roadster as the showfloor model to drive that point home.

Besides, here where I live in Suburban Chicago, Cruise Nights are an annual summer tradition for many local towns nowadays. But, having just noted that, the one possible inhibition to such a playset from ever happening within the City theme is that Cruise Nights are more particularly an American staple, something that just might not resonate with audiences elsewhere. Hmmm, maybe a Concours d'Elegance or International Auto Show inspired set would instead be the way to go for a more internationally-appealing playset inspired after automobile-centric events. :shrug_oh_well:

While not technically City, I'd still love more Xtra packs that can add on a City (and is viable in multiples)

Those parts could be printed or have a seperate sticker sheet pack (that doesn't instantly sell out) :

- Traffic Signs

- Flags

- Fences , Construction/Road Barriers

Generic rarer plants/animals :

- Palm Trees

- Cat + Dog + Parrot

- Horses + Saddles

- Seagulls and Pigeons

Completely agree. Do they still do those minifigure packs as well?

We have them in the UK, but they are often associated with boy racers doing stupid things. Take a look at the advice from police on them:

I'm not sure that would fit in well with LEGO's ethics and I doubt many parents would buy their kids cruise night sets.

One thing I always loved is when certain sets tie into each other. A great example is from the Winter 2019 wave of sets. In the 60207 Sky Police Drone Chase, you can see a nod to the fire department. In the mini movie, Where The Ravens Crow, its confirmed that the statue is to celebrate the fire department's services. I think Lego should do that more. That way, like I said before, variety can be a thing with Lego.

Hmmm, sounds to me like cruise nights are almost something else entirely there in the UK. Here in Suburban Chicago, they're more of a nostalgic event officially organized by the village where older automobile enthusiasts and "gearheads" can come to showcase their typically antique rides.

I'd definetely like to see a new wave of deep sea exploration. Last one dates back to 2015 if I'm not mistaken. Those sets were really cool in their design and color.

Also a Post Office would be nice, can't remember the last time we had one.

Some good ideas here (although I dislike Lego using stickers as I feel it cheapens the products, which nobody wants when paying Lego's prices).

I'd like some pigeons and the seagull figure is great but perhaps another mould of one without outstretched wings would be good.

Always think more variety of trees/plants would be good (bring back the old flowers in orange and purple colours) and get some bushes, etc.

NEW SUBTHEME IDEA: Outback Enthusiasts?

  • 60291 Outback Airstrip
  • 60292 Outback Mountain Rescue
  • 60293 Outback Amazon Crossing
  • 60294 Outback Racer
  • 60295 Outback People Pack

This is a great idea too. Include some good terracotta coloured bricks for the outback soil, some new moulds for Australian wildlife and some neat vehicles...

I agree with both of those. Deep Sea would give me some Divers nostalgia there.

I also had an idea of a postal workers subtheme. But "just" a post office would do if they can't do an entire subtheme.

@lifeinplastic Thanks man. I appreciate that.

Same, it's mostly about nostalgia for me with deep sea. I recently picked up an old 6560, used and built but complete with box and instructions. As a kid I had 6559, countless hours of fun with that one!

In the more recent wave, 60095 is probably one of the best city sets I have seen in a while.

Yeah a post office would just make sense for a city, along with a pizzeria. I mean how cool was this one: https://brickset.com/sets/6350-1/Pizza-To-Go lol. Mind you we did get Al's Pizza in the modular line.

YO!!!!!! That set may have been small, but it was an awesome set. I remember playing Brickolini's Pizzeria with that set. I made versions of Mama and Papa Brickolini and had a Pepper which I got from the Island Xtreme Stunts sets. I would like to see another. The last stationary pizzeria set we had was this one from 60026 60026-1_4.jpg

60150 was good and all, but I would like to see another stationary pizzeria. I still want a grocery store too! Maybe for the current pizzeria, they can make it so you can roll the pizza off of the top of the building like the doughnut shop did.

I agree completely. City needs to do more detailed buildings, for example, a grocery store.

Here are four building ideas that I have.

Bus Terminal - Includes terminal building complete with terminal manager minifigure, customer service area and waiting room, mini city bus with driver minifigure and some civilians.

Grocery Store  - includes grocery store building with 3 clerks, some civilians and food transporter.

Post Office - includes post office building with two postal workers, mail van and civilian.

Pizzeria - includes City Pizza building with chef, delivery man, pizza delivery vehicle and some civilians

They did do national flags recently again, for the exclusive LEGO tour set:

commemorating this event:

They also did some Union Jack ones in the Big Bentley Bust Out set from CARS but that was 7-8 years ago now.

I quite like the built flag poles with the flag element compared to the vintage molded flags and it would be great if they issued such a sticker sheet for more general use. I wonder if it would be a problem, causing complaints of why haven't you done MY country?

Although there is always the non-purist route of printing your own stickers or using non-LEGO ones that fit.

There are loads of LEGO sticker books produced, including a CITY one. I haven't checked the most recent one to see if they do such stickers in there. Normally they are figures and sets, but it would be great if a few of the pages contained stickers designed to fit on specific LEGO parts such as flags, triangle and circular road signs, street names for 1x4 tiles, etc.

Yeah since it is an Inside Tour set, it is very rare. And when people do sell them, they often want a significant amount of money for them, as the tour costs a lot. So they often try to sell them at $2000-3000 USD.

I always find that annoying, considering that I some of the inside tour sets more than sets you can get in stores. Also since I am into LEGO history and collecting some of the original LEGO sets, most of the inside tour sets appeal to me.  @pooda I think all of those building ideas are great.

They did have the instructions online for a while, but they have now removed them. It makes a nice workplace for a City, such as an architect's or printer's or designer's office.
