mooproxy Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Hi everyone :) I'm new here and as you, fan of this others brands of bricks... I have some questions for you : 1 - Is there any website or page or something like a catalog with all the minifigures of each brands ? Pogo, Xinh, Decool, Lepin and co... 2 - Who are you favorites sellers ? I already ordered to Minifigures Wholesale NO.1, 5A Toys Top Service Provider (but missing figures...), T T Toys or Aliexpress Blocks 2.0... Actually, i'm searching to order a big lepin set modular like the Bank or Parisian Restaurant and lots of new minifigures. But most of the times, sellers who propose minifigures don't propose big lepin modular set. And those who propose big lepin set, don't propose most of the minifigures... I would like to enjoy the big set DHL shipping to include the minifigures cause i'm not patient ;) 3 to 4 weeks to arrive here in France... Sooooooo long... Have you any seller to advice me ? :) 3 - Maximum items in the basket is 99... It's a little bit NOT ENOUGH when you want to order in single sale... Is there a way to pass out this 99 limit ? 4 - I saw somewhere on this forum that someone made a list of all the iron man Mark figures. But can't find it anymore :( if someone have the link. I'll take it and save it this time. Thanks. Thanks for all. Greg 1 - This blog kept a good catalog for a while, but since around last summer they've been doing less of it so it's slightly outdated. https://mybrickstore.blogspot.co.uk/p/minifigures.html I'm sure people in this thread will be happy to help you find a particular figure if you want one, or give advice about the quality of a particular wave. Regarding brands, SY and Decool traditionally are the best, Xinh has gotten very good (on par with official at times) though their earlier ones (around Age of Ultron and before) were not as good. Pogo has also gotten fairly good lately, though their earlier figures weren't. LEPIN are good at sets, but be warned, their minifigures are terrible. 2 - I don't tend to have favourite sellers, but in my experience anything going wrong with an order is fairly rare. Either way the site is pretty good at stepping in and getting you your money back if something does go wrong. I'm unable to check for a seller for your problem of lepin v minifigs as Ali is currently crashing my browser and I've not figured out how to fix it. 3 - I'd recommend not putting in any really big orders or with one particular seller, just in case something goes wrong. It's rare for it to happen in my experience but better safe than sorry. 4 - Here is a list assembled by palandir in June. He said it might be a little out of date or incomplete though: 1 D168 Unk (Flamethower) 2 SY179,SY605 D123 Unk (Prototype Flight) warmachine (MK1) SY262 - 3 Unk (Red and Gold) 4 D162 Unk (MK3 Upgrade) 5 SY262,SY179 D122 Suitcase 6 sh015 SY185 D126 Unk (Triangular Arc) 7 sh036 SY185,SY305 D113 Unk (Circular Arc) 8 DLP9002 Extremis Armor 15 DLP9023, KF018 Sneaky 16 SY179 D167 Nightclub 17 sh073 SY207,SY185 D112 Heartbreaker 18 Casanova 19 SY279 Tiger 20 SY262 Python 21 SY605 D127,D163 Midas 22 SY262 Hot Rod warmachine (MK2) sh066 SY185 D111,D165 DLP9002 - 23 Shades 24 DLP9023, KF013 Tank 25 SY262 Striker / Thumper 26 SY223C DLP9023, KF016 Gamma 27 SY605 DLP9002 Disco 28 SY605 Jack 29 SY605 Fiddler 30 DLP9023, KF014 Blue Steel 31 SY605 Piston 32 SY605 Romeo 33 sh232 SY179 ,SY295 D124,D246 Silver Centurion 34 Southpaw 35 SY179 D166 Red Snapper 36 SY262 Peacemaker 37 sh213 SY605 D244 X0109:TBD DLP9023, KF015 Hammerhead 38 D231 Igor 39 sh229 SY179 D115,D164,D245 DLP9002,DLP9023,KF011 Gemini (/ Starboost) 40 SY179 D125 Shotgun 41 SY262,SY185 D114 DLP9002 Bones 42 sh065,sh072a SY185,SY213D D105 Prodigal Son 43 sh167 SY276,SY213A D205 DLP9002 "AOU v.1" 44 SY357 Hulbuster 45 sh164 SY271,SY213B D217 DLP9002,DLP9023, KF017 "AOU v.2" 46 sh254 SY296 X0104:263 "Civil War" warmachine (MK3) sh258 X0104:266 DLP9023, KF012 - 49 SY303 - 50 SY161 - 1616 SY179 Rescue Bleeding Edge sh027(ToyFair2012) SY185 Bleeding Edge Tony Stark D160 Dargo829A Tony Stark Iron Legion sh168 SY275,SY213C D227 DLP9002 Iron legion Iron Patriot sh084 SY185,SY305 D110,D161 Iron Patriot The ones labelled just D (eg D161) are Decool I think.

mooproxy Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 My Big Figs came in today.... Here is my current collection (new ones in the front row): Nice, those look pretty awesome. Hopefully we'll get a chance to get them without needing to get the full set. If you don't mind my asking, how did you make that infinity gauntlet? Is it entirely custom or did you just tweak an already-existing piece?

mooproxy Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Thanks. It's a MOC piece. Sculpted over the original hand. A clearer shot here: Thanks for the info. I'd certainly try one myself but I'm still not convinced I have the artistic ability to apply a decal, so I'm not sure I'd manage sculpting out a hand.
briksen Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 finally! that's awesome! (hope it's a decent fig)

mooproxy Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Though people might appreciate these as they use a lot of bootlegs parts Nice figures. I've tried decalling a couple of figures (Jay Garrick, for instance) but the decals have a tendency to feel slightly sticky after they're applied. Any advice to fix that?

I haven't used waterslide on lego but after reading around i settled on vinyl to try first, and am pretty happy with the results so far. Downside is the slight white edge to the sticker.

Downside is the slight white edge to the sticker. Fair enough. Granted I likely didn't read around as much but this is the first time I've come across anything other than waterslide decals. There's a similar issue with white waterslide ones, but I'd guess waterslide decals are thinner than vinyl. If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions regarding vinyl stickers. Firstly, have you tried using transparent vinyl decals and how do they work out? How dark a surface can you use them on before the designs start to become harder to see? Secondly, do you use any kinds of ink sealant or varnish after printing/applying to your figures, or is it as simple as printing and sticking? Thirdly, how do they look/feel? Those pictures are helpful but even with my current setup they can look fairly out of place at times. And do they feel like good figures? And finally, how durable are the stickers? I'm not planning to leave them out in the rain or anything, but do they hold up fairly well and can they be peeled off? And if anyone else in this thread can give a very brief summary of waterslide decals vs vinyl stickers that'd be lovely.

You can clear coat decals with Acrylic or Lacquer clear-coat paints, then sand it down to get a smooth finish that feels like normal plastic. You can also use a solution called micro sol to dissolve the decal leaving just the printed parts behind, none of the gluey residue. (not Lego) but look how the decals turned out on this Tyrrell F1 model I made, http://i.imgur.com/dmcsKuc.png They look part of the plastic! first I used the Micro sol solution, then clearcoated them with Zeropaints 1k High Quality Clearcoat Lacquer http://www.hiroboy.c...oduct--276.html http://www.hiroboy.c...duct--3667.html Edited August 28, 2016 by TyroneBricks93

So in terms of application, what would you recommend? The method I've been following is essentially printing the decals, giving them 3 coats of inkjet sealant varnish, then sticking them in water, sliding them off their backing and onto the figure. Would you suggest applying micro sol after application (and drying) or should a decent application process be a little more complicated than that? Thanks for you help by the way. I must say. wickedlemon Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I know that a lot of us on here are trying to keep tabs on what figures are out there and what they based on. It's all a bit overwhelming to keep on top of, with the current rate of releases. I can't keep my website up to date or afford to buy enough figures. I've created a Google Sheet, which I'm going to throw open to anyone here to edit (just PM me). It's public to view so please take a look. I' hoping to keep tabs on bootlegs, custom and genuine figures. I've done Pogo and a whole bunch of Onlinesailin figures so far. Next Xinh, SY and Decool as I have all the basic data sorted for those. Please take a look and let me know if you have any feedback on what info I should be including. Here's the doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fa0qJnsLO1lplomh8rdHYNMbPQgj0JBEWYB0ghH78YU/edit?usp=sharing Here's a pic for those who don't want to click away:

mooproxy Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Does anyone have a list of the different bootleg Hellicarriers that are out? I want to pick one up, just not sure which one. This may not be a complete list, but the ones I could find were: LEPIN 07043 SY911 Sembo 911 I think Decool also did one but I'm having trouble finding it. Couple of things to note here: - LEPIN's minifigures are usually awful. I don't know for certain whether this is the case for the helicarrier, but I see no reason why they shouldn't. - The SY helicarrier is actually slightly larger than the official one, and comes with more pieces as a result. It still looks a fair bit like the normal herlicarrier though. - The Sembo one (I think it's a subdivision of SY) has been modified slightly (mostly stickers/labels) and comes with Captain China and his crew as minifigures instead of the ones which come with the official set.
gauz Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Thanks! Not seeing the Sembo one a lot on Ali, it appears to be the most expensive too.
