Sandy Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 "Do you think I'd wear a beard like this if I could help it? DO YOU? Because I don't! I think I'd have a beard that would make you wilt in shame, BUT I CAN'T! How sad! I'd throttle you, but you aren't worth it, you aren't worth the clothes you wear, you aren't worth the food you eat, you aren't worth the air you breath, you aren't worth anything." Hodurr's eyes bulged out as he bursted into laughter. "BWAHAHA!!! You carn't grow a BEARD?! Whaddare ya, TEN years old?! A wee LAD tryin' to pick a fight with BIG boysh! By ORRIK's stony ballsh, thish ish TOO much!!!" At that moment, Grimelda returned with the drinks, ignoring the bellowing dwarf. "Here you go, on the house as we -" She was silenced when a blade fell on her throat. "Now you die, traitorous wolf-banger", hissed the Fenarian woman that had suddenly appeared behind the proprietress. Before anyone had time to react, the assassin slit Grimelda's throat, spilling blood all over the heroes' table. She then turned her blade towards the heroes. "Before you do anything rash, let me explain", she said calmly. What will the heroes do? Quote
Duvors Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) What will the heroes do? "Mate, I am one hundred and thirty-five years old, and I'm not trying to fight you, I'm trying to get you the shut the hell up you drunken fool." That was before the assassin. "You just popped in here and murdered someone, that means you have approximately five seconds to explain, afterwards I will kill you." That was after the assassin. "I just saved your life. Those drinks were poisoned. Your sweet tavern keeper used to be a member of us Red Assassins before going rogue. I was tasked at tracking her down and ending her life. Nobody leaves our order without a permission, you see. I learned she had allied herself with the Wolfgang, so I decided to observe her before finishing my job. Now, do you still want to kill me?" "I'll be DAMNED..." the dwarf muttered, and dashed out of the building. "If he reports to the guards, we have a problem." Unless you want to be swimming in possibly hostile guardsmen I'd suggest you leave, I'll explain later, just get lost in the crowd." He then stuck his head back in throughout the door. "Are any of you coming with me? I would like to keep at least some of us out of prison, and miss, unless you can prove your story I'll probably show up at your trail as a witness for the prosecution, if they even bother to try you out here, they might just flat out execute you." K-Nut Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Althior grabbed Throlar by the back of his shirt and pulled him back in. "Only the guilty flee the scene of the crime, bud. I'm not sure I believe her for a second, but we've got a problem here we have to deal with. We get that out of here and we can use the dwarfs intoxication against him. If not, I'm pretty sure they'll believe five people more than they do one." He turned to the rest of his party "Nur, Eric, mind taking the body out back and try and burn it? Second, why should we attempt to screen this person who as far as we know is just a lying wolfganger trying to get in our good graces? And third if you go along with this person without any proof of what she says I'll call the guards myself and accuse you of helping her to hide the eviden... Pyrovisionary Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Talking with the annoying vertically challenged prick wasn't going to work so Sarge instead sits down at a table and lights his cigar. Taking small puffs he waits a moment before saying to the room in general: "What we do is we blame it on the dwarf. Not the drunk one, our very own Dwarf problem. We act as witnessess, giving evidence that it was him what done it, and we don't need to hide the body. We just wait for the guards and keep our little criminal tied yup. Sandy Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 "GUARDS! GUARDS! HELP! FIRE, MURDER, ASSASSINS!" Hearing Throlar's cries, Walbartan and Orokai appeared to the door. "Is it the mutants again? Damn, I'm too big to enter!" "What is it? Can i help?" "Of course." Nur kneels and searches the waitress. He took extra care around her bosom and lower regions. He wasn't going to pass up another opportunity for a little deviance before he attempted to drag the body out back. Nur's thorough search resulted in finding a letter from the proprietress' apron. It was written with the same handwriting as the letter they found on the mercenaries at Dim Haven. "I don't know what it is you have done, but the Wolfgang obviously wants you out of their way. You can find the vial of poison behind the counter if you don't believe me." As Nur grabs Grimelda's body, the assassin points the large barrel next to the stairs. "That's the fastest way to dispose of her body. You can take her upstairs, too, but thanks to your friend, we might not have the time. We should head out through the back now." "Just wait a minute! Who are you and why should we follow you anywhere? Wasn't it you who killed this woman?" "I am Detraehd Loc, a Red Assassin on a mission. You don't want to cross with me, pongcanis." Quote

I'd think you'd jump at the chance really, aren't all mages pyromaniacs? I'll get the poison, will some of you taller types shove the corpse into the barrel? And Althor, feel free to burn the place to the ground, I won't try and stop you. If someone will set off a smoke bomb to cover our escape I'll be greatly obliged." I saw Red Vixen pour something extra into each of your drinks, so I assumed the Wolfgang tried to do you in. But if you're not enemies of the Wolfgang, then you must be..." Suddenly the assassin threw a smoke bomb on the floor. "Well damn, I was so hoping you'd prove to be a fake, ah well, Orokai, meet us round the back will you?" "Well, the assassin was almost right, nice going scaring her off by the way, there is something here, but it isn't poison, it's some kind of knockout drug, most likely some kind of opiate, or maybe and anesthetic, the blasted vixen wasn't trying to kill us, more like capture, probably for torture or something like that." Khorne Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Eric grumbled and then muttered silently, "So no free drinks after all, huh...?". He watched the ensuing chaos unfold with a blank face, a certain coldness having taken a hold of him. His grin was gone and nothing replaced it. He was near-expressionless. Throlar's antics started to seriously work on his nerves. First the dwarf was yelling for the guards and now he's pretending to be running this shit. The Nord rolled his eyes. Someone ought to push the little bastard of a bridge on the first opportunity. Eric waited until Nur had conducted his search of the barkeeper and then picked her body up and lay it over his shoulder. Doing as the assassin instructed, he moved towards the giant barrel and stuffed the corpse in there. (In case it wouldn't fit, Eric wouldn't mind chopping it to pieces to do fit ). When he finished the deed, he stated dryly, with a slight smirk, "Oh no, look at what Throlar did, he dumped the body of the innkeeper he killed in this barrel. Oh my, the horror! What a devious little bastard, that dwarf." Quote

What a devious little bastard, that dwarf." Throlar slapped Sarge and Eric, twice, each."Will you please prove yourself intelligent? Orokai can't hear you and Warbartan is in here with us, if I had done anything you would have said that ages ago, and I most certainly wouldn't have called the guards, also, they both saw the assassin and I daresay they realized what really happened instantly, and I'm to small to get anything into that barrel anyway, so sober up and start trying to think up a story that'll make sense, and if you can't do that, shut up, also, if weren't burning the place to the ground the bet thing to do is get her back out of the barrel and say that we thought the assassin was lying and chased her off, we don't have time to clan up this mess so the best thing ought to be to tell a half-truth. Where the hell is the guard anyway, they should be here by now, unless they're all drunk, in which case we can just leave now." Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Ooc: Throlar, attempting to slap Sarge and Eric, unfortunately falls short because it seems that as a vertically (And mentally) challenged Dwarf, he could not reach. For one he couldn't lift her, and then reaching the top of the barrel would be a stretch as well," He grinned smugly, "For once, I am (shockingly) agreeing with the dwarf over here, so can we just get the hell out of here already? Dumping a body shouldn't be this complicated," He stands back, "Now, shall we leave already?" Quote
