Well, I hope not. Knights should be the knights. The bishops should be new mfs, perhaps with a hood and a robe. Ideally if the rooks/castles can be mfs as well that would be great but I am fine with mini towers for rooks. Having the knights as something else (like the horse head armor) would be bleh for me. :-P

Personally, I think this chess set will be the best of the bunch. Crown knights are somewhat lacking in troops, so the figures will be welcome for that. And more skeletons to add to the horde are always welcome. I didn't find the Viking chess that useful, because large numbers of identically dressed vikings didn't strike me right, since Vikings wouldn't wear uniforms. But crown knights all dressed in similar heraldry makes more sense.

Well, I was talking about the style Lego uses to do the chess sets. Besides, aren't Knights always pictured as horse heads? Regarding the Bishops, it is strange how Lego represents them as knights rather than actual bishops. I guess it's because kids prefer knights over bishops (although Chess sets are more AFOL oriented, if you ask me).

That's exactly what I thought! I mean, it's not that Vikings wear all the same uniform, do they? They all dress up like they want, just like the pirates. Crown knights need to be nice looking, with all the same uniforms. Regarding the skellies...come on, they're undeads, do you think they all have the nice, shiny armour? Some have helmets, some don't, some have swords, while others have crossbows, or axes...you have to consider the nature of the faction when you build your soldiers.

I saw it yesterday and was wondering (as i did before for Vikings chess set): are the minifigs parts glued together or are they regular minifigs ?

Edited: oops sorry just found the review for the vikings set and found the answer. :-D
