fire117 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 What! The MF is ridiculously overpriced! 14 cents per piece! 180$ for a 1300 piece set! That'd be at least 162 euros. Very overpriced and how much will Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle be in dollars? Quote
Mahtion Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I'm way more excited for the constraction Vader and Grievous than for the entire EPVII wave. BTW, I love the fact that the boxes for them apparently won't have that Ton Stimpy... errr... I mean, Kylo Ren guy in the upper right corner so I can still pretend the Disney fanfiction doesn't exist. Wait a moment, doesn't "Ton Stimpy" sound even better, actually? I'm glad you enjoy the controversial constraction figures, someone needs to buy them. I politely disagree with your veiled attempts to undermine the new trilogy. Like or not it's part of the new canon going forward and has been legitimized through the the collaborative efforts of Kasdan who is not by any means a SW fan fiction writer. You must be a fan of the now defunct Expanded Universe to have such disdain for Kylo Ren and TFA. I feel sorry for people that harbor these sentiments and hope they enjoy what is left of the SW world they consider authentic or canon. Quote
JimCanuck Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Since I've put off buying the Shuttle Tydirium, for what special figure will probably show up at Lego stores on Force Friday. But I will probably pick up the snow speeder, and either the TIE or the Troop Transporter. Maybe get the troop troop transporter and the assault carrier. To create a larger transport. For all the "flaws" the sets look decent. Jim Quote
Mahtion Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I'm impressed by these sets and love the color choices which very rich and gritty at the same time. The vehicles are all well designed and thought out with plenty of greebling, features, and plating. Kylo command shuttle looks much improved from the small pic we saw like others said the retracted wings look better. Some flaws include the wings on the T-70 Xwing and the Transporter oversized cabin tower. But I can see the logic behind these changes. Minifigs are for the most part great as well with Rey being standout among them with the small face details like freckles and expression. Captain Phasma is also really good aside from small inaccuracy with helmet and not chrome but again reasonable choices. I would have preferred the Resistance Trooper was the he same helmeted one from Hasbro but that's ok. Hux, Finn, and many of the FO troopers are great as well but Kylo is probably the most disappointing of the wave sadly. From the hoodless Helmet mold to the awkwardly compromised design of the lightsaber it's very hard to appreciate. This may change with the hood option but the lightsaber should have had a new hilt if the lightsaber blade was to be made limited to the old Lego saber. I am starting to appreciate the limits of the design due to stability issues but I am still on the fence. Also the prices aren't high technically it's due to the piece count and size of the majority of the sets. If you calculate the price per piece count only the Elite Tie Fighter sits at 13 cents per piece, the other sets range from 9-11 cents which is normal based on Lego prices and sets. 75099 Rey's Speeder - 193 pieces - £19.99, €29.99, $19.99 .10/piece 75100 First Order Snowspeeder - 444 pieces - £39.99, €54.99, $39.99 .09/piece 75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter - 517 pieces - £59.99, €76.99, $69.99 .13/piece 75102 Poe's X-wing Starfighter - 717 pieces - £69.99, €99.99, $79.99 .11/piece 75103 First Order Transporter - 792 pieces - £79.99, €114.99, $89.99 .11/piece 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle - 1004 pieces - £99.99, €129.99, $119.99 .12/piece 75105 Millennium Falcon - 1332 pieces - £129.99, €164.99, $149.99 .11/piece Quote
Ultron Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 What! The MF is ridiculously overpriced! 14 cents per piece! 180$ for a 1300 piece set! The MF is $150 though.. Either way, I'm excited to have my first MF and X-Wing! Those are the two classic star wars vehicles I've never had. Also I'm anxious for the new C-3PO and R2 whenever we get them. I only have the very first versions of both characters from the original escape pod! Hopefully the R2 is updated somehow and has back printing Quote
benderisgreat Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 What! The MF is ridiculously overpriced! 14 cents per piece! 180$ for a 1300 piece set! tbh Millennium Falcon sets have always been priced around 100-150$, so it's price is no surprise for me. Personally while I am interested in new Falcon( specificly Finn, old Han and Chewie) I am going to hold off buying it until I see the movie. Because by that time we will see pics of January sets and they might include some of the same minifigs plus some missing characters like Luke, so it will be possible to get all OT characters from new movie. LEGOMAN132 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Easy mods to get rid of the spring shooters. These sets look great I bet the transporter will have no screen time like the turbo tank. Like the turbo tank and gunship I cant wait to see how it fits in to the film though. Quote
Datamunky Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Why does TLG hate the UK so much? Those prices are ridiculous. Pretty much the same in $ as in £. The MF in today's exchange rates should be £95. Think I'll be buying from Amazon.de as the prices work massively in our favour at the moment. 75099 Rey's Speeder - 193 pieces - £19.99, €26.99, $19.99 75100 First Order Snowspeeder - 444 pieces - £39.99, €49.99, $39.99 75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter - 517 pieces - £59.99, €69.99, $69.99 75102 Poe's X-wing Starfighter - 717 pieces - £69.99, €89.99, $79.99 75103 First Order Transporter - 792 pieces - £79.99, €99.99, $89.99 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle - 1004 pieces - £99.99, €119.99, $119.99 75105 Millennium Falcon - 1332 pieces - £129.99, €149.99, $149.99 Quote

Grievous was the one construction thingy I like then I saw what they are charging for him over here and I said nope,I'll put that money towards the MF. Quote
Quicksilver Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I'll probably be picking up the First Order Troop Transport for those Flamethrower troopers and Capt'n Phasma. Kind of looks like a Helicarrier with the Helicarring. Quote
Ephseb Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) okay....so the pics are here, and I'm not really surprised. The new models look pretty bland and the "old" ones (TIE, X-Wing, especially Falcon) have only changed slightly, so you could modify the existing versions instead of buying the new ones. Practically the only thing I'm interested in are the new hair pieces, heads, torsos and legs for the civilian minifigures like Han, Not-Jaina, Finn and the Rebel soldiers. I will probably be getting some of those on Bricklink next year. Anyway, as stated before these sets are ridiculously overpriced in Europe. The positive aspect of not wanting them is that I can save money for the Tydirium, the Final Duel and the Modular Detective Building. Edited August 15, 2015 by Ephseb Quote

Jedi-Bendu Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Ah.....so much love for the new sets in this thread My opinion is that there's nothing with with the sets on their own. The only thing that bugs me is something I don't think is LEGO's fault but has everything to do with spoilers. -There are just a few named characters (no Luke, Maz (and het goons), Leia, Brance, Gliv, Gorwyn, Ematt, Vicar). Besides the 3 new heros, 3 new baddies and Han, Chewie and BB8 it's nothing but unnamed troopers. -Where are the aliens? (and cool new alien headmolds?) Where are the droids? In the entire wave there are just 2 (!) alien characters: Chewbacca and the Resistance crewmember from Dameron's X-Wing set. Instead, we get 2 uninspiring Resistance members in the Transport set. To make things worse: just 1 droid in this wave. -The wave is like Jean from the X-Men: GREY. Not a lot of variation regarding color and other things. Don't get me wrong though! Individually each set looks good. It's just that some variation (more interesting figs, a location set, more Resistance sets instead of the entire First Order army) would have made this wave stand out more. Still, I don't think this is LEGO's fault. Lucasfilm/Disney wants to keep some things a mystery (it's no coincidence we're getting a Maz Kanata set in january! (the rumored Hall of Mirrors set)) and they've done this before. People who are old fossils like me might remember 1983 when the Kenner cardbacks blacked out 2 characters: The ewoks Chief Chirpa and Logray had to stay a mystery. So, do I like this wave? individually: yes! As a whole: a bit less yes. With a location set or oddball starship with some funky droids and aliens I would have been really happy. Luckily there's the Pirate Transport, Hall of Mirrors and the Battle on Takodana in january! Will I get every set? I've always said I'd get all of them. I don't think I'll change my mind. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Yep, these prices aren't good. I'm probably going to pick up the MF and Tie Fighter. Quote
Juun Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Wow, I only like Rey's Speeder and the Millenium Falcon. My wallet is very pleased by this. The X-Wing and Tie fighter looks nice, but since I havent seen the movie yet I dont feel much for it. The rest of them lack design in my opinion. Also why is Kylo Ren holding a toy sword? It looks like one of those kids training swords. :P Quote
bountybossk Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Buying: - The MF: I don't own the previous version and this one looks awesome - Kylo Ren's shuttle: I seem to be one of the few on this forum who likes the design of the craft and I can't wait to see the interior Not sure yet: - FO Transporter: This is a hard one... Stormtroopers and Flametroopers are too good. However, I'm not too excited about the transport itself and the Resistance troopers are a bit generic. I think it's a pretty cool wave, but I have just one complaint: the First Order Crew minifig... The helmet mould looks fine, but the rest is absolutely boring and plain. Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Posters revealed at D23! Hopefully they'll be released soon! Also... Finn has the Skywalker lightsaber and turns it on! Edited August 15, 2015 by Ashnflash Quote

Ashnflash Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) That has nothing to do with the sets!! I wasn't sure where to put it and I was also expecting some more news and stuff... But there wasn't... I was hoping for some details about Rogue One and if they got any footage that we might eventually get in sets... Sorry... Edited August 15, 2015 by Ashnflash Quote
ISDAvenger Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) It doesn't, but such comments can be made via PM. Just saying. That has nothing to do with the sets!! Edited August 15, 2015 by ISDAvenger Quote
Gouniaf Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Can we read news about 2015' sets without knowing the end of the future Star Wars movie ? It would be nice. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Can we read news about 2015' sets without knowing the end of the future Star Wars movie ? It would be nice. Agreed, there's also a star wars page in the culture and media section here on Eurobricks. That spoiler belongs there. The movie has been almost completely spoiled for me. Quote
rollermonkey Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Yes, because nobody actually knows the end. Even the rumors that are out there could be wrong and contain no detail or context. Heck, it could have originated as a fan theory. Making an FO army is going to be super easy! Way easier than an OT army, that's for sure. A resistance army, OTOH... Yikes. Edited August 15, 2015 by rollermonkey Quote
rollermonkey Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 The Snowspeeder looks like it has wheels? It looks better in the non-box cover picture. The TT looks worse in the other pick, lol. The folding mechanism for the Shuttle... I can't figure it out. Do the upper parts slide, or is there an armature folding and unfolding? I think they are sliding, but how do they stay extended? I'm really curious about that set now. Far more so than when we saw the leaked instruction covers. Quote
deskp Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 The Snowspeeder looks like it has wheels? it has 'transaprent' wheels to make it look like it's hovering. same thing with the transport. :] Quote
