Endgame Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 "Masson, why don't you reciprocate my feelings for you? Is something wrong? All I want to do is have a little fun, just me and you, but you keep pushing me away... why? I want it, Masson.... I need it..." Karie says, clinging to Masson closer, the look of longing and lust beginning to intensify. Masson remains silent. Mortimer grinds his teeth, obviously conflicted. "I want to kill Seerus. He needs to die by my hands. I'm going left. I won't lose this chance. If he's not in his chambers, I'll double back into Iris' and hunt the worm down there." "...I can't say I blame you." "normally, I'd be wary, but... You're 8wheeze* right, Mortimer. Seerus needs to go down, almost as much as The Regret." Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 "Then let's go," he purrs, heading left, shoulders tense. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Johon uses a nostrum and smelling salts. "Let's go then, I suppose..." Quote
The_Customizer Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Erdathcath consumes another Smelling salts and Nostrum, "Fine, let's not stop by Iris' quarters, lets just get this over with." Quote

Endgame Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) The party chooses the Left Path, heading towards Seerus's quarters. They walk down the hallway, the oppressive black soon becoming a far worse sight. As they walk, odd drawings and maddening scribbles begin to line the obsidian walls... Before long, portraits begin to appear... With human subjects. "I - I... I don't see my sister here..." Who knew if these were actual pieces of art, drawn by Seerus, or just living, breathing, human beings trapped within a canvas for eternity? Their question is answered when they rech a more chilling part of the hallway gallery. Empty canvases... Adorned with thear names. "How long do you think he's had these *wheeze* ready...?" "Disgusting..." Edited October 16, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Mortimer stands in front of his portrait, staring at it silently. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 "How long do you think he's had these *wheeze* ready...?" "Can't have been too long given we met Alice after defeating Seerus. He must be expecting a second meeting, and is still rather confident in his ability to stop us." Quote
Zepher Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 "This is a very empty gallery," laughs Boomingham. "Big boasting, but looks like he hasn't delivered yet." Quote
The_Customizer Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 "I guess he will have to be content with realizing what a wall of us would have looked like, there is no way I will be plastered onto one of those walls." Quote
Endgame Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 "Can't have been too long given we met Alice after defeating Seerus. He must be expecting a second meeting, and is still rather confident in his ability to stop us." Alice drags her finger acorss her name, smudging the "i" in "Alice" a bit. She wipes the ink off of her fingers. "Mine is fresher than the others..." "This is a very empty gallery," laughs Boomingham. "Big boasting, but looks like he hasn't delivered yet." "We walked past a whole hallway of complete *wheeze* exhibits. Looks like he's still working on this one, though..." "I guess he will have to be content with realizing what a wall of us would have looked like, there is no way I will be plastered onto one of those walls." "I was, once upon a time. It won't be happening again." He tighetens his grip on Karie a bit. Quote
Emjajoas Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 "Let's hunt," Mortimer commands, taking the lead. He draws his bow and raises his shield, making his way forward and keeping his guard up. Quote

Endgame Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 "Punii, chap, when we get out of here we got to work on boosting your morale." "You're right. Though, to be perfectly honest, after *wheeze* all is said and done here, I don't ever want to step on a *cough* battlefield again." The party continues through the gallery, arriving in Seerus's studio... Or something similar. The od machine from the Interception Room is back, accompnaying vials of paint. A journal sits next to a blank canvas. On the left side of the room are two metal tentacles - perhaps hollow, so they can be used as molds in case Seerus gets amputated - and a set of paintbrushes. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Johon picks up some of the paint brushes, and begins painting a crude image of Seerus. "Try and find out what that glowing rod is, and what's its function could be." Johon commands to the party. Quote
Endgame Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 As Johon barks orders to his party members, he uses Seerus's immensely high quality brushes and rare paints to create what may be the finest piece of art to ever bless a canvas ever known. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 OoC: Aww come on, he's better than that... Johon picks up the journal and glosses over its contents. Quote
Kintobor Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Karie examines the paints, looking for anything of use. "Ooooh! Masson, do you wanna immortalize our endearing and never ending love by writing our names on the wall!" Quote
Endgame Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) "Ooooh! Masson, do you wanna immortalize our endearing and never ending love by writing our names on the wall!" "We... Could? You can go ahead and do it if you'd like..." Johon picks up the journal and glosses over its contents. Johon opens up the Mastermind's journal, reading his surprisingly pristine handwriting. Entry 998 Finally got a Borealis Binder installed in my studio! These things existed ever since my Master was a slave to humans... The Daranza clan made these damn things. They are a means of tethering down someone who is disobedient and immobizling them. Basically, any Progg slave who disobeyed got hit by the beam of light from one of these, and was rendered unable to move. Also makes the victim extremely fragile and susceptible to pain, so all it took was to bind them down and a few cracks of the whip before they felt like they were on Death's doorstep... Now that I have one, I can use it for a more valiant purpose: To keep my damn models still while I paint them. Mundane, yes, but I have more fun methods of executing than a glowing bulb. Entry 999 Master's plan nears completion. He re-acquired the Zirconia he made, and by combining ti with the flames of the Lifespark, intends to fuse with both it and the life-giving inferno to forge a new body... To make himself, and his legion, an all powerful building. The calculations and knowledge needed to even twist a single ember into a tiny Oculoid is immense. To use it all in such a massive being? An intellectual feat only possible by someone such as The Regret. I've snuck a peak in at some of it, and here is what I gleamed... So now he has all the ingredients, and the Lifespark to fuse them and power up him and all of his creations exponentially. One thing remains baffling to me... How? How is he going to do it? Just devouring the Lifespark would result in instant obliteration, even on The regret's part. His soul manages to contain the power of three embers, but if he lost control of them, who knows what would happen? He has said the ingredient he needs to make himself able to fuse with the Lifespark requires years upon years of cultivating and manufacturing, under perfect circumstances... I cannot fathom what it is. I suppose that's why he's the boss and I'm not, eh? Entry 1000 Hello there, immensely nosy heroes! (yes, that means you, heroes of heroica.) if you are reading this, I am currently waiting in The Regret's inner sanctum... You're doing a good job making your way to the top of our Citadel, but you still have some ways to go. The Temporal Towers, for starters, and the Oculoid Production facilities... Goodbye and good luck! -Seerus Edited October 18, 2014 by Endgame Quote

Entry 997 So it would seem The regret is tinkering with time now - he has been for quite a while, but now more so than ever. Why? There was one doorway through which the party could proceed... Was there anything else they'd like to check? Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Jeaux followed Mortimer out through the doorway Quote
