Lego Movie sets?

I'm looking to buy some LEGO Movie sets for the main characters. I'm not hugely interested in the sets that come with random people that make ice cream mechs and sorts, but what are some of the good sets in terms of figs and builds too? I like the 13 dollar set just because it's 3 figures but i'm wondering which others to buy

I really like Lord Business' Evil Lair. The figs and build are both superb in my opinion.

personally id go with buisnesses lair and bad cops flying car. thats all the main characters but metalbeard and benny, and the only way so far to get vitruvious. the unikitty in the lair is passable as regular unikitty, atleast has the right colors, and the car is the only way to get the good cop head.

I'd spend $13 on the set, that's a good deal. You could also buy the minifigs on BrickLink if you're just wanting to buy only the minifigs.

To get all the main good characters, you would need to get cloud cuckoo palace for Emmet, Wyldstyle, and Unikitty. Metalbeard's duel for Metalbeard. Lord business evil lair for Vitrivius. Benny's Spaceship Spaceship Spaceship for Benny. And if you got some dc superhero sets you would obiviously have batman. Or you could get the 2015 Batman and super angry kitty attack to get a more accurate lego movie batman.

I would say Evil Lair and Cuckoo Palace. If you still have money after that, Metalbeard's Duel. Get a blue spaceman online. Bricklink ones are cheap, eBay not so much. I'm assuming you have a Batman fig already.

Hahaha! This is totally how it starts. I just wanted Unikitty, and was quite content with the little Cloud Cuckoo set. Then I bought the movie when it come out, and I decided I really needed everyone. That quickly became I needed every set. I'm chasing up exclusive minifigs now, and Master Builders from past CMF sets. :p

But, as has been mentioned, your best bet is the Evil Lair set. That and the Cloud Cuckoo set along with Metalbeard's Duel give you most of the 'team'. You should probably have Batman by now, as he's in every DC set. Benny's a bit tough to come by, but you'll probs want his Spaceship anyhow. Just because. (And, then every other set...because the citizen's vehicles are amazing, and you'll want the Sea Cow for a base of operations...and...and...) :D

I only wish the CMFs were still out. That's a great way to get characters cheap. (I love the series, it's the first one I finished)

I missed out on that CMF series. I saw the movie when it came out though, and now I want some characters b/c I've been playing the game. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
