Moon_Knight Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) I'm a huge Batman fan and was excited when they first announced that Batman would be joining the LEGO family alongside Star Wars and Harry Potter. I managed to collect a few sets from the original Batman theme but because I was young, I couldn't afford awesome sets like 7783 or 7785. (I still think the older Batcave is a lot better looking than the newer one...) I was wondering which Batman set my fellow Eurobricks users like the most. My favorite Batman set of all time is easily 7781 The Batmobile: Two-Face's Escape. The Batmobile that comes in this set looks like the iconic Batmobile from Tim Burton's '89 film. It even has the odd nose piece that is actually a launching missile! Batman looks very cool with the shiny gold bat symbol and utility belt on his torso; very much like Michael Keaton's Batman. The Two-Face minifig is also way better looking than the newer one. He looks very much like the Two-Face from Batman: The Animated Series more than Tommy Lee Jones' awful performance. Maybe it's just nostalgia that makes me like this set so much. I used to play with it for hours. That's just me though. What do you guys think? What's your favorite Batman LEGO set? Rinzler Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Are we counting just the original Batman theme or Superheroes as well? My favourite is the original Tumbler set, Joker's Ice Cream Suprise Quote
Moon_Knight Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Both for sure. That's a great set too. Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I think my favorite was the Twoface Car chase because it was my first Batman set and because I used to play with it sooooo much my classic Twoface is really scratched up. The black part of his hair is mostly white now Quote
Jared Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) Batwing battle definitely takes the cake for me. Although the new one is more in-scale with the Burton movie version, that set had so much playability. Plus, nothing was done sloppily. I mean, all superhero sets are great, don't get me wrong, but the Joker copter had some amazing features like the fold-out shooters and the ability to drop Joker bombs and you even had that neat little mechanism that could be unhinged by the rocket in the Batwing and knock Joker off the copter. Plus none of those stupid flick-fire missiles. That was my birthday present when I was 11, and although it was originally sorted into my collection some years later, I still played with every day when I came home from school. I remember always bringing the minifigures to school and playing with them in my desk at lunch. Just last year, a friend donated to me his collection that he didn't want anymore. While sifting through it one summer afternoon to see what new parts I'd obtained, I came across a dusty but still assembled Batwing and Joker copter. After some fixing-up, I must've ran around my house the whole evening playing with the set, because the next thing I knew it was 3:00am in the morning and my mom was wondering why I was still up. As a builder, I don't usually build sets because I figure I can just use the parts to make something cooler, but I just didn't have the heart to dismantle this particular one. So to this day it's sitting on a shelf in my building room, and from time to time when I get builder's block I pick it up and swoosh the two vehicles around. Did I mention it cures that too?! >></nostalgia rant> Edited August 26, 2014 by Jared Quote
wilson3a10 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 The Joker’s Aerial Assault I like that batwing Quote
Moon_Knight Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 The batwing is definitely one of the best bat vehicles. You can't forget the most recent Arkham Asylum either. The detail on the roof is incredible. Quote
_epicster_ Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 The original Two-face chase set. My favorite batman character, based on the best cartoon ever, Batman: The Animated series. I also think the upcoming Darkseid chase and GL vs Sinestro sets will be some favorites for be because of the minifigs. Also, while it's not related to Batman all that much, the Superman vs Power Armor Lex is up there too. Quote
TheBatstan Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Either the 2013 Arkham Asylum or the original, one and only 2006 Batcave. I remember seeing the commercial for it (and the Batwing which I sadly can't find online anymore) and I wanted it so bad. I was young back then so, like you I never got the chance to get it, it looked amazing. I hope if Lego makes a Batman V Superman Batcave, they make it more like the 2006 model. Quote

Yeah, the most recent Batcave was extremely cartoony. I liked the darker tone of the older Batcave. The Batsuit chamber looked similar to Burton's as well. Can't you tell I'm a huge fan of the '89 Batman? ;DI'm extremely excited for the GL vs Sinestro and Javelin sets too. The GL set looks amazing with the new space Batman minifig and the Javelin set sounds awesome! Edited August 27, 2014 by Moon_Knight Quote
Steph 104th Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 10937 Arkham Asylum, the price is its only flaw. Quote
TheBatstan Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Yeah, the most recent Batcave was extremely cartoony. I liked the darker tone of the older Batcave. Well if you swap out all the bright and trams pieces for dark gray and black I bet it'll look just as cool, which is something I plan to do with my Cave. Quote
rome00150 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 The old batcave. I wanted it so bad for Christmas and I begged my mom to get it for me. I woke on Christmas morning to find it already built and ready for me to play with. Sadly I have broken it and the pieces are all over the place and a lot of them were sold when I sold a huge tub of loose Lego pieces. Quote
BartSimpson Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I think it has to be Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape Quote
frebbyl Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I think it has to be Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape I have to say so too, it had Bats, Robin, and three of his arch-nemisses... Or maybe Superman V.S. Power Armor Lex Luthor, although Batman isn't there. Quote
punkkid364 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I was a big fan of 7888 when it came out. Now I think it's comically oversized, but it's a fun set nonetheless. Jokers ice cream truck is great. Quote
CrazyDalton777 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I haven't actually got the set but the Joker Steamroller set, I prefer the multicoloured Robin over the Red and Black one plus you get Batgirl and an Epic Joker. Favourite Batman set that I own is the Riddler Chase. The minifigures are brilliant, You get Batman, Riddler and The Flash. The Batmobile in that is cool too. Its also got some emotional attachment to it as well, got it £20 at London Comic Con. Quote
just2good Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Arkham Asylum 2013 and the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape are GOAT. I love Batman buildings, both have phenomenal prices, great minifigure selections, and a unique design on both the interior and exterior. Quote
