alohamitsu Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Yeah I just really hope by the time I get there (4:30) that they will still have them in stock, I am unaware of how popular VIP sets fly off of the shelves here but I do know at the store where I used to live it was less frequent because of the area I was living in was not really a big attraction (since it was also in a high-end mall) Woohoo! I went to the Lego store and they had three of them! :D Bought that and managed to find the unicorn girl from MF13 to complete my collection. :) Now I just need to save money for The Simpsons MF2 collection and the two Scooby Doo sets I want this summer! And (if it does come out this year) The Big Bang Theory set. Edited April 16, 2015 by alohamitsu
eldiano Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 The stores already have the cmf, but won't sell them until the 1st.
just2good Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 The stores already have the cmf, but won't sell them until the 1st. Which store?
Robert8 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) CMF Series 2 is out! I repeat, Series 2 is out! Which store? It's quite ironic that you are asking that because they are in out in Target, Florida Edited April 18, 2015 by Robert8
Legoman123 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Do you guys think this theme is going to carry on after this year?
gedren_y Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Where in Florida? The Gainesville Target is usually pretty spotty about CMF stocking.
legofanatic12 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I only just get Martin Prince, Lisa, Hibbert, and Frink for the torsos. Patty and Selma for skirt pieces.
just2good Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) It's quite ironic that you are asking that because they are in out in Target, Florida Don't mention it, no Targets will sell jack to me. Actually, from what I've heard, it's been the same with everyone... except a select few on eBay. I'll have some by Wednesday though, don't worry. Do you guys think this theme is going to carry on after this year? I hope! I think they'll skip a year and come back in 2017 with a new series, but hopefully we'll at least get a D2C next year! Robert8 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Where in Florida? The Gainesville Target is usually pretty spotty about CMF stocking. According to Promobricks, and as J2G said, it's the Spring Hill Target: http://www.promobricks.de/lego-the-simpsons-zweite-minifiguren-serie-schon-im-handel-entdeckt/5493# (By the way, I forgot the link to the original source: Promobricks. Sorry! ) Don't mention it, no Targets will sell jack to me. Actually, from what I've heard, it's been the same with everyone... except a select few on eBay. I'll have some by Wednesday though, don't worry. Well... Hurry up, because that review won't make itself
SMC Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I hope! I think they'll skip a year and come back in 2017 with a new series, but hopefully we'll at least get a D2C next year! Why do you think they will miss a year, do you know something about next years cmf?
8BrickMario Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 It's just that the Simpsons CMFs take up a series' place in a year, so to take a break and get more regular series would be nice. Honestly, though, I don't think this theme will last long with its format (in terms of sets released). I can see them doing a downscaled Springfield Elementary, Power Plant, and Android's Dungeon, but after that, there's not too much to do. I think they're getting away with false longevity by making one huge set a year.
Robert8 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) A 2 years hiatus between S2 and S3 sounds unlikely but if that means more regular numbered no-themed series, then: yay! Edited April 19, 2015 by Robert8
tafkatb Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I can see them doing a downscaled Springfield Elementary, Power Plant, and Android's Dungeon, but after that, there's not too much to do. I can't really see the power plant happening since it consists of multiple buildings spread out over a lot of space, and the cooling towers would take up a huge percentage of the build without really adding anything in terms of interior or playability. But to add to the list, Krusty Burger is a definite possibility. I could see it having a new variant for Abe and an exclusive Squeaky-Voiced Teen!
iw84 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 If it continues, it's got to be Moe's Tavern. Size, associated characters, importance to the show, little references to episodes - it's perfect! Come on Lego, it's time to relax the rules a little bit!
The Executive Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I like TLG's strategy. Releasing one really great set a year is better than releasing a bunch of crappy sets in a short amount of time. Besides it keeps people waiting and wanting more. I'm hoping if they make the comic shop it should come with Marge's station wagon, I can't see them doing the school because it would be too big. plus they would need the school bus to go with it. Also i really can't see them getting around Moe's bar there's no way it can happen. I'm guessing the only logical set next would be Krusty Burger after the comic shop but I'm sure the theme won't last much longer after 2016.
ARSLOCK Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Just built the Kwik-E-Mart this Sunday. Fun build so many tiny details. Need a few more road plates and I'll get them connected and try and take an updated pic of the collection. Anyone see the figs in the wild besides that one target?? Also for your speculators/inside people, why no CMF series next year? Why so down about the theme ending soon too?
Zulithe Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Well it's been 3 days since the FL spotting... hopefully they will begin spreading very quickly over this week. Please report any CA sightings!
just2good Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I found some at my Target, however, totally street dated. I don'r wanna talk 'bout it. Also for your speculators/inside people, why no CMF series next year? Why so down about the theme ending soon too? Well, I'm speculating Ninjago will get a series, as the movie comes out Sept. 2016. So that'd take the usual date of the Series there. We could assume Series 15 will be in January, fitting the at least one normal series a year like in 2014, and then Disney Minifigures come out May 2016.
tafkatb Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) Reasons I don't think there will be a set next year: I've been very diligently trying to track down any information on the subject, and aside from one guy with no track record whatsoever claiming we'll get Android's Dungeon, I've got nothing. The first series of Simpsons Minifigures sold well (in the top ten for 2014), but they also hung around way longer than most other series, and I could see why TLG might want to take a break from them to make room for other series. Reasons I still think there could be an Android's Dungeon: Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence (the perennial war cry of the naïve and overly optimistic, I know). Several of the prints and molds they would need are already in production - there are now four different comic book tiles, and only a few more would be needed to at least give the impression of a well-stocked store. The second series of Minifigures brings us Comic Book Guy and Martin Prince, both of whom would be reused for the set. (Martin might seem like a left-field choice, but the episode "Three Men and a Comic Book," which first introduced both Comic Book Guy and the Android's Dungeon and revolved around the Radioactive Man book that we already have in LEGO form, featured Martin as part of the titular trio, so I could see his inclusion as a callback to that episode.) Last and almost certainly least, next year marks the 25th anniversary of that episode, just like last year was the 25th anniversary of the series premiere and this year is the 25th anniversary of the Kwik-E-Mart's first appearance. alohamitsu Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I think I could see this theme lasting longer than many people who do not believe that it will. Android's Dungeon (with Kumiko as an exclusive) seems like the most logical choice for next year, following that would probably be Krusty Burger (with Sideshow Mel as an exclusive) and Springfield Elementary (the latter which could be downsized to one classroom (with Krabappel), the cafeteria (with Doris as an exclusive), the principal's office (with Skinner), and an outdoor shack for Willie). I cannot really see them making the power plant, there just seems to be way too much detail to put in a set like that that it may cost even more than 200... As for the CMF series, I think two is more than enough for the series though one more would be great as I would love to get Lindsay Naegle and Cookie Kwan.
MicroJow Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Found the minifigures this morning in Los Angeles, CA. 60 of them on the pegs, not in an endcap box like they normally are. Brought some up to the register and they rang up as "Do not sell until May 1st". - MJ
8BrickMario Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I'll be lucky to find them loose at retail, since my TRU puts the CMFsn DVD cases to prevent cheapskates from opening them without buying. Unfortunately, it also prevents feeling the bags, so I'll go to a LEGO store to buy them.
ReZourceman Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Damn, I thought S2 was out/had been out a while. I was just randomly in my local toystore (Toys UK) and they had a load. I would have purchased more if I knew! Anyway, I did an unpacking video of the four packs I got, if anyone is interested.
Big-whoop-Guybrush Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) rezourceman - which toy shop did you get them from. I've never heard of toys UK if that's the name Of it - can't wait until the 1st to get them from the lego shop so if I can get earlier I'll definitely head there tomorrow Edited April 20, 2015 by Big-whoop-Guybrush
ARSLOCK Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 As for the CMF series, I think two is more than enough for the series though one more would be great as I would love to get Lindsay Naegle and Cookie Kwan. Their other toy lines for figures last for TONS of series, so many characters we don't have yet.... Moe, Lenny, Carl, Skinner, Sideshow Bob/Mel, The 3 Bullies, Duffman, Eleanor Abernathy (Crazy Cat Lady), Lou/Eddie, Jasper, Marge's Mom, Bumble bee man, Apu's wife/kids, Otto, Dr Nick, Sea Captain etc etc
