andythenorth Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Lots of pictures??? So where's the coverage for the Fire Plane??? We don't know*. Really. It would be posted here if it was known. If it's not in this thread, or on http://www.technicbricks.com, then in most cases, it's not known yet for English-speaking Lego fans. Occasionally something comes up in a non-English community and takes a few days to be posted here, but it pretty much always gets posted here in the end. Asking doesn't make it arrive any faster. * except some of us are in a secret club that does know, but we're not letting you in. Ha ha ha ha etc. Quote
jantjeuh Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 So, where are the pictures of the 1H 2016 sets??? I hope we get more pneumatics!!!! I can't wait! </fanboi mode> Quote

aol000xw Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 They are not going out of business thanks to abandoning the Technic line and keeping the profitable ones. By the way didn't anyone some weeks ago say anything about new PF parts? Quote
andythenorth Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) By the way didn't anyone some weeks ago say anything about new PF parts? I have heard that there is a PF unicorn and a PF rainbow. There was going to be a PF unikitty, but the part was too unreliable for mass production. Edited January 29, 2015 by andythenorth Quote
Jim Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Okay guys, we had some fun, we've made our points. Let's get back on topic. Quote
XAxles Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I don't know. I've run out of stuff to talk about. Except if the Fire Plane actually has a bay where "water" (1x1 round tiles in trans-blue) can be stored. And if that bay is big enough to store 100. As a Tiny Turbo builder, I'm gonna need more projector headlamps. Or that laser headlamp thing Audi is toting. Quote
aol000xw Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 About the Fire plane I read somewhere the water are indeed 2x2 round tiles but I am a little skeptic. Quote

By the way didn't anyone some weeks ago say anything about new PF parts? Yes, but it was clear that is trolling. Some internals say this is BS.I count at least three cameramans in promobricks video, so Im expecting at least one video with functions. It takes some time to make proper videos of all toy fair things. I can't wait! </fanboi mode> People don't really care about the fire plane it's small and less interesting. But three should be pictures up any day now. Quote
Jim Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 People don't really care about the fire plane it's small and less interesting. But three should be pictures up any day now. He was being sarcastic. And again, stop talking about pictures! And don't judge what other people might be interested in. Just because you don't care about the fire plane, doesn't mean that other's don't care either. Quote
Miscman Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Hey all, I'm nuts for the crane, Not so much for the Arocs. Anyway, I've been playing around with reverse engineering some parts of the new crane. It's much bigger than 8043 in a few ways: The tracks are 25 cm long, using 45 track elements each. 8043 is 21cm long and uses 38 track elements each. The boom with the extension installed is 61cm long (2 feet). The boom on 8288 is 50cm long. You can see there is much more support bullt into the frame that the turntable is installed on. Sort of like how 42009 has. This is to add more resting beams / width to handle the weight of the crane. I can't see if there is a new turntable or not. Now, any moc'er out there want to reverse engineer the gear box for me? ;) Also, what is going on with the pair of strings that lead to the spool for raising and lowering the boom? Is that 2 strings on one spool?? Quote

Good on you Jim, and give davidmull a good spanking while your at it as his comments are starting to wear a bit thin now. Throughout this thread his comments have been out of order on many occasions and many members are getting fed up with it. Quote

No problem Jim, fully understand and apologies to davidmull no offence meant. Regarding the lack of info on the fire plane, if I remember correctly for some reason we had a simillar situation last year with 42028 Bulldozer. Quote

Regarding the lack of info on the fire plane, if I remember correctly for some reason we had a simillar situation last year with 42028 Bulldozer. Ur only new to the forum so no offence made. I would presume the fire plane info will come last as this has happened other years. And for anyone that didn't like my comments I apologise as i was only protecting the new sets :) everyone had there opinion even if i don't agree with people slating new sets before there even seen. Emmi Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) I wonder why TLG doesn't use the "FOR MEN" logo on the advanced models, in this case all the Technic flagships (Merc Arocs, Volvo, Unimog, Crawler Crane, etc.) and the Creator stuff like Mini Cooper, VW Camper, Sopwith Camel, ... I thought that would be a good idea, maybe instead of the age recommendation? 11-16 is pretty stupid and misleading anyways - I mean I'm 20, why can't I buy LEGO anymore? If they keep age recommendations it should be 16+ at least Edited January 29, 2015 by Emmi Quote
mahjqa Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) I wonder why TLG doesn't use the "FOR MEN" logo on the advanced models, Is a penis, or stereotypically "male" attitude a requirement to build these? Edited January 29, 2015 by mahjqa Quote
aol000xw Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Lego for men I had to check, and... I didn't know of www.legomen.de, but they sure know how to make it look "for men", Quote
Erik Leppen Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I was thinking lately, but I run the risk of saying something everyone had already found out, but anyways... There had been some complaints over the past years about the lack of pneumatics in Technic. I think it's simpl because they were busy developing new pneumatics, and this is the result. I am also quite certain that we will continue to see pneumatics in Technic, probably now on a more regular basis than the past few years, after all they have all these lovely new parts now, which would open up new possibilities and at least brings their size and range up to par with LA's. What will the next use of pneumatic be? I'm already curious what they will do with these new parts, and the truck isn't even out yet :D Quote
andythenorth Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I wonder why TLG doesn't use the "FOR MEN" logo on the advanced models Because they'd get absolutely destroyed in social media, correctly so. TLG has enough gender-specific trouble with Friends. Quote
allanp Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Instead of the "for men" thing I think they should just get rid of the upper age limit to prevent offending any potential customers, not that I care what the all knowing twitter deems to be the evil of the day that we should all be offended by no matter how unimportant and trivial it may be Edited January 29, 2015 by allanp Quote
