Captain Green Hair Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Hey i thought i show you this little tram i've been working on now for some time. It is a 1940's Amsterdam blue tram, this is the line 2 to the red light district hehe. I'm not completely statisfied yet and i need to make some decals, but here she is: It rides on 9V and has built in lights, there is no interior. Enjoy and as always, C&C is welcome! Quote
mikey Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 A great MOC, the bowed out sides are excellent, the only thing I do not like is the front windscreen, but you probably did not have much choice to get that size. To be honest Amsterdam trams have always been a sore subject for me, to many near death expierences! Quote
Rijkvv Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 This looks great! I like the design of the pantograph and how you use that stretcher holder. Quote
alex12 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It looks fantastic. Lego should do a tram for their new train range. Maybe you should design it. Quote
legotrainfan Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 You built a very nice tram with some nice details like the signal horn on its roof! Are the pantographs of Amsterdam's trams really so long? Quote
BlueBard Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Great and fully-detailed creation, Cpt. Green Hair I really like the roof section, I look forward for the model with decals Quote
AwesomeStar Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Me and you should start a Tram craze, CGH. Good work, lovely tram!!! Ahhh... makes me feel happy. Thanks for joinin' the Tram Club! ~A.S. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Thaks guys! A great MOC, the bowed out sides are excellent, the only thing I do not like is the front windscreen, but you probably did not have much choice to get that size. To be honest Amsterdam trams have always been a sore subject for me, to many near death expierences! I agree on the front windscreen, but it was hard to make this size and keep it smoorh with the curved front. So after a few hours fiddling, i think this is the best solution for now. Is this one for sale? Good work . No, but it should be easy to copy i think? You built a very nice tram with some nice details like the signal horn on its roof! Are the pantographs of Amsterdam's trams really so long? They were in that day and age, nowadays they are a bit lower. Quote
Ralph_S Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It looks a bit too short, but the length the model can have is obviously limited by the wheelbase of the train motor you've used, so there's no easy way of doing anything about that. Overall it's very nice. Nice shape, great detail and it's a great subject for a MOC. Cheers, Ralph Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 14, 2009 Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 14, 2009 It's got a great shape Captain! I like the very smooth way it becomes wider in the middle, nice technique. Would you happen to have a real picture on which you based this MOC? Quote
Teddy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 This is a great tram. Was this the one you were after? Kind regards, Teddy Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Thanks guys! She's not final yet Ralph, i agree that it might look a little shoirt, but IRL it's not bad actually. Í'll propably update it somewhere in the future. This is a great tram. Was this the one you were after? Kind regards, Teddy Yes that is the one! Quote
Er!k Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Really like your design! Can the doors be opened also? Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Very nice Captain Hair of Green! Fantastic design. I love the way you constructed the pantograph. Tops. Quote
MetroiD Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 What a lovely tram! A great MOC, I absolutely adore seeing nicely executed trams... Planning on building one myself later on, this one is a great reference :) Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Thanks guys! Really like your design! Can the doors be opened also? No they can not, but maybe with future changes i'll change that. I just went for looks on this one for now. Quote
CopMike Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Really nice one there CGH ! You build good stuff also that's not in the water and have rom all over the place ! Your trams looks so alike the old ones found in Gothenburg: I love to it finished with decals also! CopMike Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Would you like a medium blue one? Quote
Wout Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Nice moc. With 1940 in the title, I almost immediately thought of some german soldiers who stopped the tram to get the driver out to confiscate it. Quote
