prateek Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Looks awesome just by looking at the preview pic! How did you do the diagonal sidewalk? It looks great! Quote
streifen Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) in the dim light, it looks great! faster come out with your MOC! was it a pre-planned MOC before you did the modular houses? if so, that was great planning. if not, must have been tough "relocating" the actual builts onto modified pavements and then further modify the modulars. @prateek: the pavement looks brick-built. because if you look at the lady (the person at the front of the MOC), she seems to be walking up/down a flight of steps. the diagonal should thus be cheese slopes. Pingles Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Great mood! And the scene looks very alive! Nice work! Quote
Alec Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 The chain fence looks cool but what I the chain attached to? Quote
harmacy Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 New photos added today - should make the paving and bollards a bit easier to see:) Thanks all for comments thus far Quote
iKonoKlasT Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) New photos added today - should make the paving and bollards a bit easier to see:) Thanks all for comments thus far Really impressive !!! I'm planning to do something similar in the future. What did you put under the modular houses? Edited July 31, 2011 by iKonoKlasT Quote
AussieJimbo Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Great concept and execution, harmacy. Top job. :classic: Quote
AllanSmith Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Look great . Are the Lifelites street lamps bright in a lighted room? Thinking of using them for my next Taupo display. Quote
harmacy Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 Really impressive !!! I'm planning to do something similar in the future. What did you put under the modular houses? I guess you could call them piles:) - They are sitting on large plates(floorboards), which are elevated off the baseplates. Also gives ample room for the lifelites cabling. Look great . Are the Lifelites street lamps bright in a lighted room? Thinking of using them for my next Taupo display. I got the 'warm white' bulbs, which are quite, um, warm.... If you are thinking of having them in a lit room, Id suggest the bright white bulbs. Im going to be lighting the interiors eventually, which will spill some more light onto the pavement. Oh - and Allan, if you do order some, let me know, as they have a flat shipping fee, so will split postage:) Quote
22kane Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Lots of great detail, well done! I'm a sucker for for these building rows. I really need to get started on my own. Great job!! Quote
Locutis Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 WOW! That is an awesome modular building street you've designed! I like that a lot. I imagine you lost the ability to separate the buildings, though, which would mean this is one big piece to move! Thanks for sharing! Quote
harmacy Posted August 8, 2011 Author Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) WOW! That is an awesome modular building street you've designed! I like that a lot. I imagine you lost the ability to separate the buildings, though, which would mean this is one big piece to move! Thanks for sharing! Its still manageable to cart around the house, but I need to be super careful!..... I picked up a glass cabinet a while back, which has actually defined all of my dimensions, so It will be living in here from now on. (Cabinets are the BEST!!!!) I have 2 other shelves to fill now - Im thinking about a Winter Village / Polar express scene (Ive started modifying my Emerald night - especially the carriage length to a more realistic size) and a Maersk / port scene.... ACCURATEin Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I love all the modifications here. The tiles, elevated walkway, and chain fence are all great. The glass shelf is neat too. Quote
Holodoc Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Hi harmacy! Very smart use of the diagonally laid tiles! This scene is so wonderful, I cannot stop looking at it. The chain fence looks cool but what I the chain attached to? That chain fence impressed me a lot, too! I didn't know those short chains existed. Thanks to Bricklink I now know these are new within the Ninjago theme. Very clever! The chain is attached to lightsaber hilts, part 577 . Taster bricks? Is that you? I think we have met before... Im very grateful for the Ninjago line for those chains - they are very effective! And yes - you got it, Ninjago chains on lightsaber hilts, with a 3mm piece of tubing attaching them into a 1x2 jumper plate. Is actually very stable and hold together nicely. The only issue was sourcing enough ninjago chains, as they are a relatively new part, and not yet very common on BL. And No, I am not Taster Bricks. I did a few orders with them while building this scene, and was sent a 1x8 printed brick as a bonus. I wasn't intending on using it, but it actually looks pretty good under the Green grocer awning, and it kinda makes sense there too. Cheers for the comments Quote
sonicstarlight Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 This is a huge improvement over the stock sidewalks that come with the sets. I didn't even notice at first that your Green Grocer lost a bit of weight - it looks good cut in half. Quote
HighFlyer Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Brilliant modifications you have made, great job. Quote
