Posted November 7, 20159 yr Here is my modified version of the 75103 Lego First Order Transporter. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr This transport barge is 6 studs longer than the original set. And there is more. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr I tried to bring a pure studless look to the transporter and this increases the sense of robustness of the barge. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr I also added a few extra details here and there to break the monotonous aspect of the barge hull: extra grids or bars for example. The side propulsors have been "massified" with some extra details and element that render like extra armor. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr The apparent technic beams at the rear have been hidden. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr I removed the spring shooters and replaced the dual stud shooters by a good old E-web for the Empire' sake. The E-web can rotate left, right and up. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr The rear hull section has become a small platform that can hold some equipment or people when landed. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr Regarding passenger capacity, it has been increased from 9 to easily 14, including the weapons of the 14 troopers. It can also accommodate a speeder and its crew. First Order Transporter by Veynom, on Flickr The playability has been respected and this is why some studs are still apparent, mainly inside or on the opening front door. I hope you enjoy it! Now I merely need to add a sea, a beach, a bunker and some dying rebel scum! :)
November 7, 20159 yr Great additions - subtle and effective. I like the tiled top, and the hidden technic beams in back. The added length is an obvious improvement, and I'm also liking the two horizontal rows of grille tiles on the sides. Even without the improvements, I enjoyed building this set far more than anticipated - and I can't say exactly why. Thanks for the pics!
November 7, 20159 yr Author Thanks all for your warm comments. I confirm this studier version is great, including for the kids. Now I just need a flotilla of these. :-p Thanks all for your warm comments. I confirm this studier version is great, including for the kids. Now I just need a flotilla of these. :-p
November 8, 20159 yr Nice mods, definitely improves the Transporter :) Edited November 9, 20159 yr by belkor
November 8, 20159 yr I really like how you managed to hide the technic beams at the rear! Looks much nicer this way!
November 9, 20159 yr Splendid Moc Veynom. Love the smoothness of the roof, as it makes it look 10x better than the original. The gun on the top deck is also an amazing improvement over the original. Edited November 9, 20159 yr by Quicksilver
November 9, 20159 yr Mine's due to arrive today. I'll definitely attempt to make some similar modifications when I build it.
November 10, 20159 yr Author Thanks all for the very nice comments. Always a pleasure to read them. Feel free to copy and improve again as I am confident you can do it easily.
November 11, 20159 yr I've just finished extending mine (only by 4 studs), went to post some pics and saw this thread! It's amazing how much difference it makes to the look of the craft. My biggest problem before was that the control tower section looked over-sized. It now look totally in proportion to my eye. Other main change for me was (as with yours) covering the exposed technic beams - enjoyed the greebling especially due to the odd number of studs. Edited November 11, 20159 yr by Richpepperell
November 18, 20159 yr amazing work. Seeing this mod inspired me to go out and buy this kit. Same here... although I'm holding out for the film first then I'm probably going to start picking things up! Excellent and seamless mod to this vessel. There's some really nice modification to the TFA wave already!
November 18, 20159 yr This a great improvement, I wish the official product had a more similar design to this.
