I picked up a used 10030 recently and decided it was nearly perfect except for the lack of detailing on the engines and the top of the bridge super structure design. For some reason they designed that element in a vertical fashion, instead of horizontally as it is on the original model. So I did a quick change to this:

Simple, but definitely changes the look of it. I also raised the height of the super structure a stud and changed the connection point to give it a more smooth and accurate look.

The original star destroyer model used in ANH actaully did have a vertical tower. Since the 10030 is obviously intended to be the Devastator (given the inclusion of the Tantive IV model), the vertical tower is correct. There is a detailed look at all the different bridge models used in the films here: http://www.theforce....wtc/towers.html

Hmm interesting. I was working off this source material: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=11205

Looking back at the actual movie screens you are correct though. Appears they mislabeled that. I guess I upgraded mine to an Imperial II-class ;)

I actually modded the entire bridge section in the spirit of Jerac's masterpiece, so it has a complete conversion to an Imperial II-class star destroyer. I'll get some pictures up at some point.
