MKJoshA Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I have a general question for all AG players. I know the Merchant Confederacy has been thought up, but I was wondering if there are any other alien or non-faction groups that people have been using in their stories. Someone mentioned the Emboians as an alien race. I'd love to tie my story into the larger AG picture as other players envision it. Anyone else have groups they know of or use? Quote
EpsilonEta Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I will make one soon and have another in mind. Also planing to build upon Narbilus ALIENS that he introduce in They represent ALIEN We can talk more about that in a new privat conversation Quote
mediumsnowman Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) There's the Zoid, a race of alien slavers that the Merchant Confederacy fight against. They are usually represented by Galaxy Squad aliens. They've been in a lot of builds. There is also the Zotaxians (Insectoids), brought up by Danny, an ancient race shrouded in mystery charged with protecting even more ancient knowledge. I'd message him before you do anything with them though. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112384 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=117277 Edited December 2, 2015 by mediumsnowman Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I definitely have the Zotoxians kicking around. I'm perfectly fine with someone using them, so pm me if you want info on them. Thank you, Mediumsnowman, for providing the overview of them! I'm too busy right now to do anything like this, but I thought at some point it'd be cool to go back over old builds and see what alien species have been introduced and such. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
SpacerSteve Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 There are the Frogans too. They were in a couple of early MANTIS builds and Dannylonglegs spaceship challenge. It would be fun to create some kind of Andromeda Alien Guide. Quote

Thanks everyone! This is perfect! I hope someone gets around to the Hitchhiker's Guide to Andromedona. It would only take going through everyone post and compiling the list of aliens, flora, and fauna by category with links to the builds. Not that hard right? Wish I had time, but I don't. Though, if someone were to do it it would be better to start now, before we get any further! Quote
EpsilonEta Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 A lot of people seams interested in this "Guide to the Andromeda galaxy" and it would be a lot of work for one person. So why not make it a crowd effort? Bob can make a new thread “Andromeda Guide” or something and anyone who have something to say about an alien or creature/environment can make a post about it. The first post could be updated with the important data from the posts but right now I just think it can be mostly empty. I'm already working on a list of aliens based on some notes I had and the info that was just posted. Quote
EpsilonEta Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Here is my list. It's not entirely compleat yet as I still remember a few aliens I haven't found again. It's also not mush descriptions yet but maybe we can all help with that. I think this could be a good start for a new thread. Maybe we can even move the last conversation over there? Either way, it would be easier to have this in it's own thread to easy find and add to. Andromeda Guide (or The players guide to the Andromeda galaxy) * Sentient species Humans Description: Mostly harmless Ter Tahls First discovered by Kodan Black on F10 Arium Major "Space-ducks" First discovered by Jedadiah Douglass on E09 Castral Terrestrials First discovered by Narbilu on B06 Sorn Description: Head of the ALIEN Alliance Rothillian First discovered by Narbilu on B06 Sorn Description: Part of the ALIEN Alliance Zard First discovered by Narbilu on B06 Sorn Description: Part of the ALIEN Alliance Tron First discovered by Narbilu on Traig IV Description: Part of the ALIEN Alliance Zoid First discovered by Narbilu on B06 Sorn Description: Part of the ALIEN Alliance. Bob De Quatre Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 Let's define a template for each entry's categories! What information do we need on aliens, fauna or flora? Quote
EpsilonEta Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Well, I like my start on Aliens: [Name] First discovered by [Player] on [Planet] This give both who created them and the first appearance Description: [] We could also add things like “Active in area” to know where to likly find them Also “significant encounters” as a list of links to important builds And possibly “appearance” where there looks is described with links to Bricklink. Or we could just add a picture right under the name Alien organisations are basicaly the same but could need an “relations” where there general hostility is also included. For the Zotaxians this would be “unknown” or “undiscovered” for species Regarding Flora and Fauna I don't think we can keep them apart. Just think of the cactus creature on New Carlifornia or the Plant thing that follow that MANTIS player. (and don't get me started on Pombe's animal tree) Instead I think each planet should have “general environment” (like yellow rocks on Donwarr, high trees on Arium Minor and red vegitation on Lesser Direstan) and “known lifeforms” for indivudual creatures. Exampel G03 New Carlifornia General environment Barren desert with little vegetation but bloom during rare rain seasons (this should be more like a guide rather then instructions on how to build there) Known lifeforms “Cactus Creature”, Killius on sightus (named by Eshey) Description: Looks like a cactus but is a dangerous carnivore. Known to have attacked humans. Threat level: High, proceed with cation. (Picture and Latin names are optional ) Killer scorpion Description: A deadly creature found on many planets Threat level: Extreme (if you are Octan) Sorry if I seam to bossy. I welcome other suggestions and ideas too (and in the final version you can remove my little jokes) Quote
SpacerSteve Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) I glad this is happening. I like Epsilon Eta last suggestion. I might add planets encountered. We could also add a height relative to a lego minifig. The units could be Minifig units (mu) for certain creatures. The great hawks of Donwarr could have a wingspan of 30mu while th cactus could be roughly 1.5 mu. A zoid raider would only be 1 mu as they are minifigs. “Cactus Creature”, Killius on sightus (named by Eshey) Planets Encountered: G03 Description: Looks like a cactus but is a dangerous carnivore. Known to have attacked humans. Height: approx. 1.5 mu Threat level: High, proceed with cation. Edited December 4, 2015 by SpacerSteve Quote

A proud warrior culture that is advanced and technologically proficient. The Ter Tahls main color is dbg, but they mix in various blues as a tribute to their aquatic lineage. The triple triangle blue piece used in my builds is symbolic also. Height: 1mu, minifig scale Threat level: Generally low, though an advanced warrior culture and perfectly capable of defending themselves Minifig: http://alpha.brickli...col139#T=S&O={} -- Alien Avenger: CMF Series 9 Infant stage: http://alpha.brickli...03pb01#T=C&C=34 -- Turtle with Bright Light Blue Eyes and Reddish Brown Spots Pattern Edited December 4, 2015 by Kodan Black Quote

Teeming with small life Known lifeforms "Ya-te-veo", (vidya zavod) (taxonomy by Vedauwoo) Description: Semi-sentient Spiky Fern/Palm-like organism with two large eyes, develops a grassy stalk for locomotion. Seems both selfless and fearless, but has a distinct sense of justice. Has a language composed of clicking, cracking and rustling sounds. Height: 1.75 mu Threat level: Low, invite them on your mission, they are very helpful. Edited December 4, 2015 by Vedauwoo Quote
MKJoshA Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Emboians First discovered by John Hannibal on G02 Freegate See Also: Ender on E11 Fascini Cluster Description: Native to Freegate. They fight against slavers and protect any who wish to escape slavery. They have a very firm set of values that they are not willing to break. (Goatman, I hope you don't mind me posting about the Emboians and embellishing on what you started. Let me know if you want it changed) Quote
Dragonfire Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Here is my list. It's not entirely compleat yet as I still remember a few aliens I haven't found again. It's also not mush descriptions yet but maybe we can all help with that. I believe you forgot two aliens that I introduced: the massive, wolf-like one that almost ate me on Lesser Direstan and the green, tentacled one that I chased for three consecutive weekly builds Quote
