Lt. Col. Thok Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Interesting...perhaps we'll see a line of Vestas sets - it would be good as they are for a great cause - alternative energy! Quote
Eilif Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Great pics. I hope we are looking at the genesis of a new sub-theme, and not just one (albeit potentially great) new set. Thanks for sharing these. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Thank you very much for these pics, WhiteFang! Great pics. I hope we are looking at the genesis of a new sub-theme, and not just one (albeit potentially great) new set. Thanks for sharing these. I totally agree with you, Eilif and Lt.Col. Thok.! I hope for a complete new sub-theme. Alternative energies are the future and it's great to see TLG discovering that and turning it into sets. In this way already children get familiar with this (not only Lego) theme. After having seen this :oh: wind ower plant with the neat cottage and the service car - how amazing do you think it would be to have a hydroelectric power plant with a little river/lake, a little cottage with a little landing stage, a little boat, a worker looking after the turbines and a grandfather with his grandchild at fishing :oh: ?! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Freddie Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 It's an interesting display, and is far more than what I thought would be when I saw Vestas-branded WPPs from First Lego League (you know, the Mindstorms competition?). Matija got a few of those and had them motorized for our display at LEGOWorld this May. I did on the other hand not expect a set with cottage, van and all that. Maybe a (motorised) Wind Power Plant, but not a full set. Quote
Bob Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I saw the something like this in JFK at Christmas time. I think it was in the Delta terminal. It had the same displays as these. Egypt, Underwater, City. I dont remember the house but there was a fourth one that I cant remember either. I was going to take pictures but our flight was leaving soon. It ended up getting delayed anyway and I didnt want to go through security again. Bad enough going through once. I remember because they had a pool with a drowning kid in it at the top. Thats a great way to market things isnt it? Quote

WhiteFang Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 Dear all, The very same Vestas Exhibition display in Singapore Changi Airport, Terminal 2, Transit area which was taken February 2008 last year is currently back in the very same location today. This is not an April Fool Joke. I just took a walk down there and saw these exhibits again. For those whom happened to be in Singapore or for connecting flights, do drop down to Terminal 2 to take alook. It's located near the south pier of Terminal 2. I am not sure when will they move again. Quote
Legoist Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I think the sea display is really great, with the idea of designing models both above the water and the seabed! Quote
JadeIceGreen Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Damn, I was at Changi Airport 3 times in February, how did I miss this! Quote
WhiteFang Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 Damn, I was at Changi Airport 3 times in February, how did I miss this! It was last year, but now it is back. Do take alook, if you happened to be flying to somewhere soon. It's worthwhile to take alook at these displays yourself. Quote
