Calabar Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Sometimes we have a LEGO set that don't likes us anymore, so we decide to use the same bricks to create something that pleases us more. That's today's contest: use the bricks of a small LEGO set and built something amazing (or try to do that, at least... ). For this contest I chose a little promotional set, the 7270, that seems to me perfect for this challenge: it is small, its bricks are not too easy to use, and it is ugly enough to encourage us to create something else! Rules: - Post your entry in this topic. - You creation can be of anything - your imagination is the limit. - Use (somehow) all bricks in the original set to make your creation. - Give a title or a name to describe you creation. - Insert a picture of your creation. Extra picture can be inserted as text link. Avoid gargantuan images, the set is very small! - Insert a link to the lxf file too. - If a creation is very very similar to another, only the first posted will be accepted. - Only one creation per user. - Participants should have 10 posts at least, and have to joined to EuroBricks before july 20th. - The contest will stay opened for 1 week (until sunday july 31st at midnight, Greenwich). At the end of the contest there will be three top builders: - One decided by public vote - One as a raffle - One picked by staff (Jury: Calabar, LuxorV, Rufus, Superkalle) For the winner... the glory, and perhaps a small thing. Here is a ready lxf file with all the bricks you have to use. Good luck and have fun! Final Results here! Quote

George G. Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) My entry is entitled "Buzzy the Bee". It is meant to be a bee hovering a flower but the flower kind of failed because of the lack of pieces . I'm happy with the bee though It uses all the pieces and NO extras. LDDtechnician Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) bionicle of the seventies LXF I changed the design to get better proportions and deadlier weapon. It will surely break easily in real life, but in LDD it works fine. Edited July 25, 2011 by LDDtechnician Quote
Calabar Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 @Toa_Of_Justice Oh, that's a good question. I think that a single image is adequate, but you can post an extra image if necessary. Other images can be inserted as text links. Another important thing: participants have to provide lxf files! Rules updated. Quote
George G. Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 (snip) Another important thing: participants have to provide lxf files! (snip) And how might we do that? I don't think I've done it before..... Am I being an idiot and is it really easy Quote
Calabar Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 And how might we do that? I don't think I've done it before..... You can zip the file and than use the attachment function of the forum, or create a brickshelf account to share both the image and the lxf file, or use another file hosting with direct link! Quote

Daedalus304 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) This is a really neat contest, Calabar! It was quite difficult to come up with a model that I thought looked good and used all the parts. Here it is, inspired by the video game series "F-Zero": Hypersonic Hornet A high-speed hovering race craft. Streamlined and with big engines for maximum speed! This is the view you'd generally see if it were in an F-zero game. And finally, the LXF Hope you all like it! Edited with the creation name, I'd forgot to include it Edited July 26, 2011 by Daedalus304 Quote

MstrOfPppts Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) This is a cool contest. I am always amazed at what some people can come up with so limited amount and shape of pieces!
