lorax Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Hi, I don't know if I have understood the rules correctly, but here is my entry, 'love under the big top'. It is the circus scene from 'Big Fish'. Edward Bloom sees a beautiful girl across the circus ring, the girl he knows will one day be his wife... “They say when you meet the love of your life time stops, and that’s true… What they don’t tell you is that once time starts again, it moves extra fast to catch up.” Category B vignette - Big Fish by tikitikitembo, on Flickr Oh and obviously the little clown is my series 5 minifig :) Thanks for looking.

Boarded up in Balin's Tomb the Fellowship of the Ring await the inevitable onslaught. As the door gives in, Gimli jumps up on the his forefather's tomb and shouts: "Let them come! There is one dwarf yet in Moria who still draws breath!" Also in the scene is Legolas, Boromir, Aragorn, Gandalf and probably Sam (the hobbits are hard to tell apart ). Here are some quick shots from the movie scene and a link to a YouTube clip. Here's another photo without trying to make the lighting fit the movie scene: And a quick shot on how I tried to make the light effect from the movie I really enjoyed this competition and I'm looking forward to a great contest! Oky Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Minifigs: Series 5 Circus Clown, Series 1 Clown, Series 2 Ringmaster Theme: Disney My entry for this category is a recreation of the climax of the Disney animated classic Dumbo. Here we can see Dumbo about to jump off the burning building facade and surprise everyone by showing them that he can fly! Meanwhile, the ringmaster directs the audience's attention at Dumbo, while the firefighter clowns prepare to catch the young elephant with the fake trampoline with a tub full of soap water underneath it. You can watch the scene here: http://youtu.be/naDx8DSqH0o?t=6m9s Here's a closer look at Dumbo with his clown make up. Note the "magic feather" that he holds in his trunk. If you're wondering where Timothy the mouse is, he is hiding in Dumbo's hat. The Series 5 Circus Clown is supposed to stand next to the other clowns, holding the trampoline. More pictures here. Hope you like it, and good luck to my fellow competitors.

Taylor has crashed on an "alien" planet. He and his fellow astronauts think the grunting humans they meet are the "rulers" of the planet. They are surprised then, when a hunting party of talking apes attacks the humans. In the scene depicted, Taylor, played by Charlton Heston, emerges from the corn field followed by the girl he will later name Nova as the apes try to capture or kill all of the humans. The cavewoman is Nova and she would be behind Taylor in the corn field.

Space Terrapin Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Here goes with my first ever Eurobricks post! This was a really challenging category, but fun - thanks to the organisers! Spartacus - Fight to the Death The scene is from the 1960 film, 'Spartacus'. Spartacus (armed with sword and shield) is forced to fight to the death with his former sparring partner, Drabo (armed with trident and net) for the amusement of Senator Marcus Licinius Crassus. Crassus discusses political schemes with his friend Glabrus, while the slave girl Varinia, who has fallen in love with Spartacus, looks on anxiously... If you want to see how the fight ends, you can watch it on .Series 5 minifig: Gladiator (obviously!) Series 1-4 minifig: Spartan I don't own an official Lego net, so the one Drabo is carrying was hand knitted from black cotton thread by my wife. She's a star! The scenery without the players: For more photos look on my MOCpages page. Good luck everyone!
