Cij Daoke Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) The Dark Watchtower of Haudh-en-Dúath Haudh-en-dúath is a hidden hill located north from the Keldra Labyrinth, in an enclave on the mountains, between Nocturnia e Mitgardia. It's avery hidden building, surrounded by the range's peaks. In the past, a path was built out of the obsidian stone that is plentiful in these lands. The Shadow Path, as it was known, was lost throughout the eras, and time had gone by without any humans to walk around this way. No one knows who built this Tower. It's presumed there is Drow technology in it's basements, but nothing can be proved. As it's very hard to find, and very delocated from the king's roads that pass by, this tower was lost in time, but my master Lord Malvadex, the Evil Wiz, has founded it and now keeps it as an important point of stop for our nearby troops, and a most important observation point, very high in the mountains, where you can see the meridional fields, where Avalonia begins and the snow starts to show up in the vikings lands. Link to the Flickr Album Our troops are in constant observation of all roads in this territory, and we are very inflexible when it concerns to unknow wanderers. Recently, we found a very suspicious small group, making a hidden rendez-vous just below the entries of the Shadow Path. As they were unpolite to tell us their names and reason why being so far from the land and the road itself, we took them to a hard time. They are now kept imprisioned in Haudh-en-Dúath. They still refue to tell us from which Guild they belong, and we can't really tell, as we all think Mitgardians and Avalonians - Kaliphilins are quite different, they are cheap and always thinking of money, so it's easy to tell if you have something to trade or buy. We won't answer to any King. Lord Malvadez hasn't received any invitation to see this fat guy's coroation, and so we won't pay respect. We answer to Lord Ssilyrrlith, for whom whe pledged alliance and who received us with honour and respect. For Lord Ssilyrlith, I come - as thou emissary - to tell my opinion of the kept prisioners. A great lie stands behind their refuse to speak. For me, they are west spies, trying to map our lands to find better ways to enter Nocturnia. For long time Nocturnus Guild has been acused of infamy and betrayal, but now we can see we're not the only ones walking evil ways. As I don't have any torture expert between my soldiers, I offer any Nocturnian friend the chance to try to soften this prisioners a bit. The middle one is a natural screamer, and I think you'll like him. If any Guild wants to rescue these prisioners, atesting their belonging to thou crew, I am availabe for a little reunion. Appear unarmed at the north gate of Keldra labyrinths, and I will take you at safe to reckon the prisioners. I also don't want to bring any harm to an emissary nor any Guild, I do prefer politics, and this is an incident that demands an explanation from whoever has some. But hurry up! These prisioners weren't harmed or injured, but I haven't saw a human which lived more three nights hanging on a cross. (First big-castle-MOc ever since I am an AFOL! As i have no 'big castle set', this was surely a challenge, I had to tear down some other MOCs and spent almost all my bley bricks! It seems I will have to buy some Castle sets to make it to next challenge!) * I just had to copy Silver Smith's idea of the Motorcycle Cop's tile as a sign! Well done, man! Si-MOCs Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Don't worry, the mods can delete the double post... On to the moc: I love the use of the dark green ground, and the dark patches in the side of the tower are nice. I think I can tell where 2 of the 3 people came form Not sure who the last one is. Only suggestion I have is the base, I know the Guild colours is red, but that red base/coupled with the white backgrounds totally draws the eyes away from the tower and towards the base. a darker colour (maybe black with red highlights?) may work better? Hexx Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Congratulations to you and your master for a marvellous restauration of this place... These old towers always bring so many beautiful memories. ... And as far as the trespassers are concirned, I believe a few days on a cross will teach them a good lesson in manners Going to the other guild's territory unanounced is a big no-no! Grand Warlock Gza'ar (great MOC man, tower looks quite ominous and the surrounding is also great, it realy resembles a mountain road, but can you take some photos of the top part? And maybe from other angles? Btw. gratz on your first MOC!) Edited November 23, 2011 by Hexx Quote
I Scream Clone Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 A most excellent creation to keep watch upon Mitgardia You have done your guild proud with limited resources as well, bravo good emissary. Double post removed as well and title fixed. Quote
NiceMarmot Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 They look like Avalonian traders to me, probably trying to find new sources of 1x1 round plates. I hear their leader requires all buildings to use them for wall construction Quote
Hersbrucker Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Looks great, I like the way you build the Tower with different levels and colors. Quote
TenorPenny Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Lovely use of colours, well balanced and a good sense of what's going on in the scene. Quote

There is a 1x1 round bley quarry in the Rakath Mountains, just down the road from my place ;) Great tower by the way Cij, like the dark grey slopes in the wall. Cij Daoke Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 Thanks everyone for lovely compliments! This MOC was something very different from my commom creations, and was surely a small victory. It really took me into Castle, now I am more thand addicted! (great MOC man, tower looks quite ominous and the surrounding is also great, it realy resembles a mountain road, but can you take some photos of the top part? And maybe from other angles? Btw. gratz on your first MOC!) There are some more few photos on my Flickr where you can see some details, but I'll share here too: TOP SECTION TOP SECTION, BACKWARDS Stained Glass - There's a small shrine on the interior for performing Black Magic Quote
Basiliscus Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Great architecture, particularly around the windows. Nice work. Quote
Dustin Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 (edited) Awesome! LOL! I see a Highway Patrol Ticket from the Traffic Cop collectible mini-fig. That's really funny; I use that as a treaty for conflict-avoidance in my kingdom. Edited November 26, 2011 by Dustin Quote
Trent Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 This is fantastic; the tower is imposing and the use of the prisoners inspired, really adding to the scene. I love the detail of the animals drinking water, and the sign is a nice touch. The tower is nicely decorated with the stained glass, the bat and the spears. Great work. Quote
