ZCerberus Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 This ship was only built because I switched the boat hulls on the Arbiter to white over from brown. The left over hulls meant I had the ability to build this one. I think the Covenant was mention in the Arbiter and Harbor posts, but I am not sure there was one dedicated to it! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 7, 2006 Governor Posted December 7, 2006 I can't help but think this ship looks a little too narrow. I'm assuming this is because you opted to use the smaller hull pieces. Is there any particular reason you made the stern castle white and blue? It doesn't seem to correspond well with all the brown. You need to carry the white and blue across the hull otherwise it looks like it comes from an entirely different ship. Quote

You should use some white and blue across the hull. The stern castle look nice however but the ship looks a bit unfinished. Quote
jamtf Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Very sorry to say that the ships do not "catch me". As much as I liked the Imperial Harbor, I think the building style, colour scheme and use of sails for each ship you created is well, inferior to the quality of the harbor which is an excellent design. Dust is no object in this matter, I just think the design should be more thought over and the ships rebuilt, perhaps using the CAD program. Quote
ZCerberus Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 Come to think of it... I am not even sure why it is blue! I was using white and black everywhere, then, all of a sudden, blue... there doesn't seem to be a reason for that, who knows, maybe I just had the tall blue slopes, thought they were a cool design element, but had no where to use them! The narrowness is due to the hulls only being used because they were left over from the original Arbiter. I wonder if I have a picture of the old guy somewhere... oh well. These ships are all a couple of years old at least now. Maybe I should retool them all in CAD now that I am older and wiser. I must admit, of all the ships I have, the Covenant is the most last minute and certainly my least favorite. I just made it because I had all the left over hulls. I don't like the second mast, the stern castle, or the bridge all that much. But I had enough masts, hulls, and rigging pieces to do it, so I did. Perhaps it is in need of something a little more drastic. Stay tuned! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 7, 2006 Governor Posted December 7, 2006 Are you going to give the Covenant a major overhaul Mr ZCerberus? Quote
ZCerberus Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 Are you going to give the Covenant a major overhaul Mr ZCerberus? Stay tuned. I think I am going to be doing several overhauls over Christmas time. I have an idea that will be very different. Hopefully I have learned a thing or two while building the Harbor that will translate well to the new ship(s). I am expecting the Sienna to replace the Covenant as second in command as well, we'll see how that turns out! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 12, 2006 Governor Posted December 12, 2006 By several are implying that you're also overhauling the Sienna as well? Quote
ZCerberus Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 By several are implying that you're also overhauling the Sienna as well? At least two of the ships... but to be honest, there might actually be a NEW ship and two overhauls. We'll have to see! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 12, 2006 Governor Posted December 12, 2006 The Siena thread only has a few posts so if you're not going to be doing any further work on that ship I might merge it with another of your ship threads. But I'll leave it there till you decide. Quote
El Bucanero Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Where is the link to the brickshelf folder? And why did you choose to build on narrow hull pieces? I think would look better on wide hull pieces.... Quote
ZCerberus Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 Where is the link to the brickshelf folder? And why did you choose to build on narrow hull pieces? I think would look better on wide hull pieces.... I only used the narrows because that is all I had. I took the brown ones off the arbiter because I had enough white ones for it. The brown hulls I did have went into making a ship. I did it really quickly without thinking about its design too much, I just had the pieces to make another ship, so I did! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 12, 2006 Governor Posted December 12, 2006 Errrr... What about the link to the Brickshelf Folder? Is this the link you're looking for Mr Tiber? Quote
ZCerberus Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 or maybe this is the link to the Covenant BS folder itself. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=214740 Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 12, 2006 Governor Posted December 12, 2006 Oh yes, before I forget Mr ZCerberu, I have a question for... Which mini-figure head are you using for the Admiral? It doesn't look like its the standard Admiral face. Quote

It doesn't look like its the standard Admiral face. Yes, yes... I believe that guy has a Samuri head on. It is actually one of my favorites for Captains of ships. Here is a shot of the head I used. I rather like it actually! If it is too small an outside link to a set that contains the head. Peeron Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 12, 2006 Governor Posted December 12, 2006 Lets try this picture... That is a very suitable head for an admiral, its almost an update of the actual Admiral head. Other themes provide so many useful heads for pirate creations. Quote

Norrington Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 i heard you were going to make the sienna second in command of your fleet. i dont think you should because the covenant goes along with the arbiter theme a.k.a. the halo theme Quote

It will not really even be the same ship and I am pretty sure I have not seen a Pirate ship that is the same style as the new Sienna is going to be. It will be different that the classic ships we've had here. Quote
