PeterleB Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Modified (81.6 tyres / wheels) and motorized trailer from set 8063 to fit better to the unimog. Brickshelf folder with lxf file Quote
timslegos Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Nice trailer, are you going to make it in real life? tim Quote
DLuders Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 @ PeterleB: Your Brickshelf folder is "Not Yet Public" -- could you deeplink your LDD .lxf file? It may be several days before your Brickshelf folder is moderated.... Quote
davidmull Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Very nice,is this the exact trailer from that set with just bigger wheels? Is the instructions for this trailer online? Quote
zewy623 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 How many Technic, Link Tread Wide with Two Pin Holes pieces would we need to make the unimog a unimog unitrac? I know I have tons of these but I need to find them and see if I have enough. Quote
radar92 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 How many Technic, Link Tread Wide with Two Pin Holes pieces would we need to make the unimog a unimog unitrac? I know I have tons of these but I need to find them and see if I have enough. I built a updated UT-90, making the cab more like the U20, It uses 58 links per side. It not exactly like the unitrac due to the drive wheels are to small. Its close to the 8110, may need to be longer. Quote
zewy623 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 @radar92 What about using a large gears and using the smaller track pieces? Would that be more accurate? Quote
radar92 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 @radar92 What about using a large gears and using the smaller track pieces? Would that be more accurate? Do you mean the older technic treads? That would take many more then I have. I think the track is good it's just the drive and return rollers are to small. It's the best I could do with what I had. I tried using the common turn table and some large plates to cover, it looked good but it wouldn't be drivable. Quote
zewy623 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 @radar92 No, I mean the smaller version of tracks that can go around the non-beveled gears. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3873 Quote

DLuders Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 @ PeterleB: Your Brickshelf folder for the 8110 Unimog Trailer is now "public", but when I downloaded your .LXFML file, LDD 4.1.3 could not import it. I tried renaming the file extension, but nothing works. Instead of "Exporting" your LDD file (and creating an .LXFML file), could you post a straight .lxf file on your Brickshelf folder, like you did with your 8110 Snowplow .lxf file? Thanks. Quote

PeterleB Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Very nice,is this the exact trailer from that set with just bigger wheels? Is the instructions for this trailer online? There are additional changes. I will make a new lxf file in the next days. Which hoster is the best for all? @DLuders The snow plow files are lxf not lxfml. I will update the files. Edwin Korstanje Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Made the b-model snowplow out of my spare-parts. Only some minor changes were necessary because of missing the correct parts. Works like a charm, but I still have to wait a few more days to test it on the unimog itself Nice done, i like the black parts. I am now upgrade the firetruck and rebuild the rear frame and differend motor setting. see later on the photo's of it greets Edwin Quote
DLuders Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Which hoster is the best for all? @DLuders The snow plow files are lxf not lxfml. I will update the files. @ PeterleB: I checked your file on your Brickshelf folder again -- it's an XML file (not a .lxf file). I don't feel like joining Freefilehosting.net to obtain Alasdair Ryan's file. The "best hoster" could be http://www.MegaUpload.com -- it's free, people don't have to join it to download something, and it can handle HUGE files (up to 20 MB in size). Brickshelf is SLOW to get moderated, and most new folders take ~2 days to get moderated. I like using Flickr, but it can't handle LDD .lxf files. Quote

In LDD the used wheels/tyres are not included: Wheel 81.6 x 34, with Black Tire 81.6 x 34 Technic (2998 / 2997) Edited December 7, 2011 by PeterleB Quote
PeterleB Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 My current work: the trailer from B-model 8258. Very nice, not perfect. And the most important to me: rebuild the knucklecrane from pcility. The work with LDD is very hard because of the few and small images. When i finish the lxf, i will provide it online (bad english ?!) Nice weekend! Quote
Cypr-21 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Instead of using a second Battery Box and XL motor, could you try to use rear Unimog PTO to work the trailer from B-model 8258 ? Quote
davidmull Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Why do people changes pneumatics for la,s ? Quote
Badger Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Why do people changes pneumatics for la,s ? I too never understand that :/ Quote
DLuders Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 People substitute Lego Linear Actuators for Lego Pneumatics for more precise control. The tangle of air hoses detracts from the appearance of some MOCs, and the LAs look more closely like hydraulic cylinders. Quote
PeterleB Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) Why do people changes pneumatics for la,s ? To easy and full remote control. And here is the ready ldd file of the crane from "pcility". PcilityCrane.lxf PcilityCrane.lxf Edited December 11, 2011 by PeterleB Quote

I prefer pneumatics and as for tubes they look more real like hydraulics , looking at motors on an arm look ####. Quote

This was my early intention. But I think it will be difficult because the gear mechanism is big and complex. Quote
