Henchmen4Hire Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) This thread is for any kind of weapon or armor, I'll keep a list of your creations in this first post Hammers, Maces, Mauls --------------------- 3 Small Hammers plus Sky Smasher, Thunderbluss and Brainripper (this post) (Dr Nightmare) 3 Small Hammers plus Earthmover (DrNightmare) 6 LEGO Universe-inspired Hammers (DrNightmare) 1 Hammer (DrNightmare) 6 Big Honkin' Hammers (Nobleman) Magnatronner and Steampunk Wooden Hammer (DrNightmare) Aero-Stryker and U.F.O. (DrNightmare) 3 Small Hammers, 1 Axepick (DrNightmare) 2 Small Hammers, 1 Massive Hammer (DrNightmare) 3 Large Hammers, 3 Small Hammers (DrNightmare) Death Hammer Golden Spike (CptMugwash) Shields 'N Blocky Things ------- 2 Shields (DrNightmare) 4 Shields (DrNightmare) ================== You guys like smacking stuff with hammers, right? Who doesn't! So here are some nifty hammer designs to satisfy your need for tons of blunt force trauma. First up, a trio of traditional metal mashers, no workshop is complete without them: And for the fantasy lover in us all, here are some pounders infused with elemental energies to add some extra OOMPH! to those blows: From left to right, the first is Sky Smasher, lightweight with an aerodynamic flair, you'll be twirling like tornado with this in your hands. Next is Thunderbluss, all metal construction with the ability to fire electrical bolts of decimation. The bolts are wildly unpredictable as they snake around the battlefield, so wear fully insulated armor at all times! Finally we have Brainripper, it slices, it dices, well actually all it can do is cause your opponent's head to explode in a comical mess, but what more could you want! Feel free to post your own designs :) Edited February 4, 2012 by DrNightmare Quote
Quichybo Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) Damn, I love that Brainripper! I have been thinking for about half a year to make a thread like this: A guide on how to make custom weapons without Brickwarrior / Brickforge products. You could do the same with staves for mages and polearms for the pikemen. You get a war scythe by simply attaching a scytheblade to a lance, like on this screenshot from LEGO - Universe: We need a thread like this to conserve the nice ideas from LEGO - Universe before it closes. I've never played it, but I think it may inspire some people. Some more ideas on custom Hammers, Maces and Mauls you can get here and here from LEGO-Universe Wiki. Henchmen4Hire Posted December 12, 2011 Author Posted December 12, 2011 Yar, I played a little bit of LU in beta, and even though it was under construction the models were still inspiring. A shame that game is floundering. Feel free to post your weapon ideas in here, unless someone else makes different weapons, this is going to be HAMMER TIME ALL THE TIME! For your enthusiasm you get... MOAR HAMMERS! 3 more standard hammers to use around the barn, those horseshoes aren't going to nail themselves onto those hooves! Well, that first one is more for tenderizing that tasty horse meat, mmmmmm... And another special item, Earthmover!: Earthmover trembles in your grip as it shakes with the anticipation of crushing everything in sight. A powerful pneu-magic piston pumps the striking-head into the ground repeatedly with enough force to destroy a castle's foundations! If your arms aren't torn off by the thrumming power, you'll enjoy brutal victory and a free foot massage. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 12, 2011 Author Posted December 12, 2011 And now some LEGO Universe hammers, I'm surprised I didn't use any of their designs, just goes to show how many possibilities there are Quote
NiceMarmot Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) Ooh, I really like that last one. Going to have to show my 4 yro son that one; he loves those crystal pieces for some reason. Will try to come up with some ideas and post them too. BTW, another subject for either this thread or another one would be how to make shields -- for those of us who don't relish paying $0.50 a shield on BL for every castle soldier we have. I sense a thread that will have to be stickied, or at least referenced from the Historical Themes Index stickied thread. Edited December 12, 2011 by NiceMarmot Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 12, 2011 Author Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) The reward for your kind words is a shield! (...and another hammer! ) And a mini-shield for the hell of it (buckler?) Edited December 12, 2011 by DrNightmare Quote
Quichybo Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) I sense a thread that will have to be stickied, or at least referenced from the Historical Themes Index stickied thread. The best would be a merged thread for composite weapons and armorpieces, sorted by category. But we would need a person to manage the first post which contains an index with pictures of every weapon and armor. You could even include pets in minifig-scale that are brick-built and not simple pieces like existing dogs, cats and rats. A small index of what i mean can be found here, an example would be this little warthog: So we would have a thread that can be used for equipment and animal companions. I think that would be cool. We would have many cases of "nice parts usage". I would like to make a thread like that. Or would you, DrNightmare, want to restructure your first post and rename this thread? I don't even know if that is possible... but if not, i would try to start that index and collect ideas and, of course, take your hammers without forgetting to mention that those ideas belong to you. Nobleman Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Sometimes, you need a bigger hammer to get your point across. These hammers are for those occasions: (I hope image won't be too big) I, myself, am more of a halberd/spear/pike person. If weapons like that are welcome in this thread, I could add a few of them too. Quote

I want to keep this as a weapons/armor only topic but I do love those animals too. I don't know, having them in the same thread is like going to a museum that displays paintings and pancakes, they're both spiffy topics but kinda weird together. :laughs: I'll edit the first post to point to everyone's individual creations in this thread though, I'll update it weekly or something. I can't edit the title though, you guys are stuck with that @Nobleman: Those are some big thwompers! Perfect against those obnoxious skeletons, just remember to collect their bones to sell to witches afterward, powdered monster bone goes for big money! All weapons are welcome :) Edit: Added index/table of contents to first post Edited December 13, 2011 by DrNightmare Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) The Magnatronner, business in the front, party in the back! The striking face is straightforward enough, the hidden power of this hammer is its ability to attract your enemies' metal weapons. They can't hit you if their sword is stuck! And some kind of steampunk wooden hammer. Just messing around with pieces, this is one ugly brute lol Edited December 13, 2011 by DrNightmare Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 On to some outlandish designs, here we have the golden Aero-Styker and the U.F.O. - Unidentified Fragging Object. -Ancient Aliens fans may recognize the inspiration for the Aero-Stryker ;) -No one knows where the U.F.O. originated, all who wield it swear they can feel themselves levitating towards the heavens, feeling closer than ever to the gods (or "ZE GODS!" as Von Daniken enthusiastically puts it ). Henchmen4Hire Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 Guess there aren't too many people interested in these, oh well. I'll keep posting them anyway. I call that horned one The Bull :) Quote
Xyver Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I like them, so keep posting. I'll even make some of them too for my MOCs if that's ok. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 Yeah, you can use any design I made, the more they're used the merrier Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 Moar hammers, 2 of the small ones are based on designs I found while browsing online. Surprisingly there aren't that many moc hammers out there. Go figure. That yellow Scuba Hammer makes me giggle :) This is the source for one of them, the other was being held by a dwarf, just can't find it anymore, sorry! http://vignettebricks.blogspot.com/2007/01/you-call-that-hammer-now-this-is.html Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Some really nice designs, I quite like the shield design and think it would go great in the guilds of Historica. Thanks for sharing some of these ideas and keep em coming people. As for a brick built animal topic, I would love to see it, though lets get a few designs built before launching a topic just for one animal Quote
Legoman of War Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Very Nice! It will be helpful for me since I'm new at all this LMW Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Guess there aren't too many people interested in these, oh well. I'll keep posting them anyway. I like them, DrNightmare. Some very cool ideas for fantasy armies here. They will go well with the upcoming LOTR figs. Quote
enlighter Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 (edited) These are all quite awesome... Curious what program all of you prefer to use and if it works on a mac? Edited December 24, 2011 by enlighter Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 these all rock haha, what program do you all use? And does it work on a mack? Please don't be sloppy in your typing on Eurobricks. The program you are after is Lego Digital Designer, no idea if its available for Mac's though. Quote

It does indeed work on a mac and will prove quite a useful addition to the quiver of tools we have here. Cheers, Enlighter Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Geez, I'm afraid to think of what the scolding would be if I left out a "p" from apple. Thanks for the support folks Enlighter: It's just the digital designer, it works on mack lol Here's the link: http://ldd.lego.com/ Simple to use, be sure to read how to unlock even more bricks here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53760 Quote
