Sirens-of-Titan Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Wow Angeli! That is impressive in both scale and design. I love all the tran pieces anchored to the arches; it creates a very neat light effect. This will be a sight to behold when it's done! Am I correct in assuming this is your biggest city so far? Quote

I love all the tran pieces anchored to the arches; it creates a very neat light effect. This will be a sight to behold when it's done! Am I correct in assuming this is your biggest city so far? nope, Menzoberranzan was my biggest castle ( And by the amount of bricks that I have left, I think it will stay the biggest... But :) I do think that Lith My'athar will be the most complex one, and if I have enough bricks for tall, slim tower, the prettiest one ;) Quote
Gabe Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Wow, it's looking so impressive! A 3M tower - break out the stepladders! The architechture you've got going on in yr city is wonderful, quite unique. I love yr darker photos, they really suit the mood of the place. ps. I wish you safe building on those ladders now! Quote
Angeli Posted August 25, 2011 Author Posted August 25, 2011 few new things: church of l'Loth (realy, I am building it like it is a real one, so much time:) New keep, entrance and the moving bridge will bee leaning on it New rooftop Ambient pictures of the one of the towers New window (the light felt so beautiful while I was building, I had to take a picture:) Part of a spider body that will go atop the sacrifite pit And finally new minifigs :) (pictures are links to larger ones) (Look at the first one enlarged - fearsome, reminded me of some of the Night Watch (but he would need a normal body) :) and for the other one, I've tried to use new heroica helm, but I can not find a head that would fit really tight. Any ideas? Yes, yes, it is a flying axe :) In here I am particularly satisfied with shield :) And this little underdark forest spirit, he is much nicer enlarged :) Quote
Angeli Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Last night I've let my PC to read me "song of fire and ice"", the 3rd one, instead of music, and I've build. Here's what's new: Entrance gate, notice huge black chain, each link is two minifigs high; Few pictures of construction of the whole castle, because I build where ever my eye lands :) In folder "construction" I've putted few more pictures, and some construction solutions, like for stained glass church windows, considering that they are made of baseplates that are vertical New spider, made for church top: Quote
prvi svog imena Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 In folder "construction" I've put few more pictures, and some construction solutions, like for stained glass church windows, considering that they are made of baseplates that are vertical I assume skeletons will be needed for this? Great work, especially the frog king :) Quote
Angeli Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) I assume skeletons will be needed for this? Thank you! Yup, they will be hanging from those chains ;) Marilith: Edited September 2, 2011 by Angeli Quote

Captain BeerBeard Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Everything you have done here is beyond "mind blowing". Is this a lifetime project that will never end? Sorry, if you already answered that question. I haven't read any replies. Quote
Angeli Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 Everything you have done here is beyond "mind blowing". Is this a lifetime project that will never end? Sorry, if you already answered that question. I haven't read any replies. Building with lego is a lifetime project ;) for everithing else, from what I will build, when and why, I do not have the slightest idea :) And by doing so, i.e. haeving none, I enjoy building even more :) --------------- Come girls, let's get rid of Drow dirt once and for all! This time, don't leave anything to chance: call the angels! And my favorite Iron-angel Deva, just look at that wings behind her :) New Iron-sisters: More of the angels and girl-paladins are added here on brickshelf So... the pitiful human girls called the angles? Summon the devils! And send a dark rider to the blood elves. Promise them all they can catch for their dark rituals And my favorite among the bad guys: Draegloth More of the devils and Drow thralls are added here on brickshelf Introducing: blood elves: And my favorite, Blood-elf bladedancer More of the blood elves and their scary pets are added here on brickshelf I've added more then 50 new minifigs, so check them out here in Minifig folder on Brickshelf Quote
Abu Dun Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 An interesting update once again, it's becoming more and more apparent that your city will be rather crowded. I haven't heard of the Blood Elves yet, so I wonder what their alignement is supposed to be. I doubt they're all that friendly towards the Drow, but a common enemy sometimes creates interesting yet fragile alliances. Concerning your previous update of the city itself, I especially like the tree and the pyramide, as their colour scheme will make them real highlights between the black and red buildings. The pyramide itself is a superb building all on its own and could easily double as a recreation of the great egyptian pyramides of old Quote
mvelic Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Great job Angeli! Minifigs are nasty. I especially like the one with hooves ;) Quote

To tell you the thruth, I invented the Blood elves; while I was looking at that elvish minifig, later called "Blood-elf bladedancer" Ithought "he is so evil battel-hardened looking guy, that he should have his own speaces :) Anyhow, I've added more the 60 new minifigs here so take a look :) here are few: Edited November 10, 2011 by Angeli Quote
Angeli Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Hi friends :) Due to the fact that new guilds are forming, I have few new minifigs, but all with guild-colored flags - red and gold There is a lot of txt going into the story, so check out Valsharess as avatar and new species They are part of the growing city of Lith My'athar, and here are just few photos, without text: Quote
Abu Dun Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 So the queen of the Drow is only known as Valsharess and her currently favoured male is called Veldrin? I wonder where I've heard that before. Let's just hope that this particular Veldrin doesn't do the same things as his relative whose visit in Ust Natha didn't end well - for the Drow, that is But I guess the people of Lith My'athar aren't that easily infiltrated That demon of unkknown kind looks fierce and I agree that the Drow are justified in being happy that he - for now - allied himself with them. The half-dragon really looks like Madae and if I were part of any guild, I certainly wouldn't want to oppose him/her without proper equipment. All in all, those new figures look really great and Lith My'athar certainly isn't lacking in diverse inhabitants. Quote

YES :) Madae (from Icewind Dale 2) was the inspiration for halfdragon ;) bravo :) Veldrin is from Baldur's Gate 2, the name you get when infiltrating Ust Natha (by the way, the first Drow city that I've made was Ust Natha Valsharess is the main antagonist from Neverwinter Nights 2 :) There are other famous names in mocs - Bodhy, Viconia deVir, Drittz and others ;) go trough "Drow" thread :) Quote
Abu Dun Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Aside from Neverwinter Nights, I've played the classic RPGs situated in the Forgotten Realms (Baldurs Gate-series and Icewind Dale-series) and I agree that these are a great source of material The Veldrin I hinted at was the same you mentioned and, although some of them lived to see another day, after my visit Ust Natha needed a lot of new citizens, especially a new queen and princess Quote
Angeli Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 cmon, join one of the guilds :) Quote
Dr Rod Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Aside from Neverwinter Nights, I've played the classic RPGs situated in the Forgotten Realms (Baldurs Gate-series and Icewind Dale-series) and I agree that these are a great source of material The Veldrin I hinted at was the same you mentioned and, although some of them lived to see another day, after my visit Ust Natha needed a lot of new citizens, especially a new queen and princess Been thinking about starting Baldur's Gate 2 again, never got more than 10% or so of the way through. Completed BG1 though... DrRod Quote
Angeli Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Been thinking about starting Baldur's Gate 2 again, never got more than 10% or so of the way through. Completed BG1 though... DrRod Think no more :) it is just perfect, install the game with expansion set, and start playing. I must admit that I didn't like it so much (I thought that there it is different, in part one you go to the edge of the screen and open a new map, and there were SO many of theme, here, it did not seem so, but... It is much bigger game, with much more connections. And pay attention, when some of the characters star making love suggestion to you, if you refuse them, they will not try again ;) When I played as a girl, I've passed on everyone (naturally:); but when I've played as a boy, I had a child with Viconia; and on a second playtrough imagine, somewhere during the play Aerie came to me and sad that she was pregnant! :) I wanted to release her from party, but she was my great mage/cleric, and I liked her innocent comments on everything; but she sad that healing is working on child to, as resurrection, so, we played along later, and I've become a dad :) Just perfect game, the best one I've ever played. You have mods which put both parts in one continued play, which is even better :) ------------ And not just to talk about non lego stuff, Lith My'athar has stirred things in Historia, so check out pinned threads in this (history) part of the forum :) This is Drow cavalry: Heavy cavalry: The sturdiest Drow ride on cave trolls, smashing trough enemy ranks both with trolls immense power and sharp dark Drow weapons Light cavalry: Fast to came and go, easy on their feet, this light armored Drow are riding giant lizards piercing trough enemy ranks with sharp Drow steel Bet archers: Few centuries ago some Drow realized that far away things looks bigger trough a tiny hole, so they made special masks and trained giant bats to carry them thus how becoming an immense threat from the night sky, swarming enemy with arrows. Little note: the big bets are vegetarians, even do Drow tried to teach them to eat meet and thus look more frightening, but black giant bats with a wing span of two grown elves eat only apples and grapes. Though luck :) Magic riders Huge power of the magic troll and ruthless magic of its Drow wizard's power is a terrifying site on the battlefield. Casting firewalls and fireballs, those magic riders can make huge difference in battle. Fury dragons There are few species of dragons that are part of Fury family; Drow are using quite a lot of them, and the first one is Black drake, famous by its robust display of muscles, and giant Green serpents, with wings so large that can fly ogres to battle. Here we can see one Green serpent with heavy armored cave ogre, and on second picture detail - ogre's helmet: And now, posing all together after the successful pillaging of the Northern borders. Those yellowed guild bunnies are easy prey even for Drow children, how not for such a might in display! :) Now it's easy to know why Drow rule supreme! Quote
Angeli Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Due to the new guild game that we are playing, building of the city came to the stop, but, I tried to merge the two, so... the watchtower for Nocturnus will also be Lith My'athars watch tower, etc :) For now, see how the preparations for photographing go: check out sea-star monster, who could be a pet of that Drow that is feeding it, and check out preparations for the lava flow; note that all that lava is coming from the watch tower (and pictures of it will be done by tomorrow, complying with the first challenge dates); also, it took me a good 12 hours to cover about 10 baseplates 31x16 with lava trans bricks - I simply could not believe how slow is random cheese slopes building ;) You can notice burned up trees still smoldering, but more about them later;) Quote
Angeli Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Drow blacksmith lava drive ;) trees that smolder;) stained-glass windows and tall and slender structures, specific for (my) Drow friends;) find other details ;) For those who want to play in photoshop with removal of the background, fixing brajtnes, contrast, etc first photo link i second photo link Like it?:) Quote
Fat Tony Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Wow! What a monumental build! This thing is looking amazing, nightmarish, but amazing! I had to study that pyramid for a while to figure out how it was made, great job. And that lava is looking wonderful! So many great details I could go on and on about. I'll have to watch this one, keep amazing me! Quote
