AlexScammer Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I got this set and a bunch of other stuff for christmas, so enjoy the review. I am so sorry for the photos, some of the are "too sharp" and some are a bit blurry, but you can still see what's on them The official MSRP is $39.99, and it is a pretty fair price. I won't give you too much text, trying to draw most of the attention on the pictures, so you would tell me, what should I improve in my photographing and cropping/clarifying. The size of a box is not too big and there is much less space inside than usually. Most of the bags don't have a lot of O2 in them, so they don't blow up when you step on them 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The back of the box shows you most of the functions of a set. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Here's what was inside. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr That is so sad... Look what the traveling of the box did to my comic book... 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The ripped comic book. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The instructions booklet. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Stickers. They are very nicely printed. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The first bag. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr What is inside of it. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Look, a FREE brick separator! It came with it. I am so lucky I didn't buy it for five bucks! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Capes were nice and neat packed inside of our little box. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The new parts. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Minifigures. The Batman. Even though the prints on all the figures are nearly horrible, I am closing my eyes on it because of how cool the figs are! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr TLC, thanks for leaving the strip on BOTH SIDES!!!! Why can't you just make it like a Catwoman's face? One side with silvery eyes and another with the normal face! I can understand why. If you played Batman: Arkham City, you never see the Batman without a mask. I mean you see Bruce Wayne, who is the Batcave set, but never the batman... And the Catwoman always jumps around without the goggles on. You can see her face. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The back-print is nicely done. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Robin. This is my favorite figure of all in this set. He has the hair of Obi-Wan from the Clone Wars, a very cool, horribly printed face, and a torso, which I always wanted. Plus, he has a black cape, the shape of which is similar to Batman's cape's shape. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The idea of the second face is nearly awesome. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Pretty good back print. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The Batbike or whatever it's called 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The cape fits perfectly behind the seat! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Vroooooommmm!! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Spare parts from the first bag. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The second bag. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The little baggie is totally filled out! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Get ready for the mistake #1. BAM! If you look at the Riddler's face on the box, it differs from the face in the little register room, or whatever it's supposed to be. But when you open the set, you see two similar heads! BAM! BAM! BAM! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr But when I saw, how awesome the fig is, I closed my eyes on mistake number one. The hat is very nice. And you get two!!! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr He looks bad. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Nice-done back print. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Cool parts from the second bag. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr And the first part of the building, from bag two. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Get ready for mistake number two. BAM! The picture on the box doesn't have a 2x2 green brick under the "cashier". The picture of the box again. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr It's fine. An extra 2x2 brick is never bad for me. The part of the building. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Extra parts for the second bag. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The Third bag. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr (not a very nice picture.) 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr A filled out bag again. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr These parts have their own packaging 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Pieces of interest. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Look at the length of the rope! It's huge!!! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The Joker!!!!!!!!!! 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr I really like this figure. It's different from the old one and it's even better. If LEGO figures had chins, it would be a total copy of the Joker from Arkham City. Back print. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The "device" of his own. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Harley Quinn This figure is almost the same thing as her old version, except for the face and the legs. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The back print isn't very neat 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Her "other" face. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr If you put all the pieces together here's what you'll get. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr A real working crane. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Harley's hammer. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr The shaking floor. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr A falling floor... 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr All the spare parts. 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr And get ready for it... Everything together!!!!!... 6857 Review by AlexScammer, on Flickr Design 10/10 This is perfect. The funhouse is really close to the "real" one. Parts 9/10 They are nice, some colors aren't fitting the "stage", which is kind of bothering me. Let's take off one point for that. Figs 7/10 Even though those are the "super collector's" figures, their face prints are horrible! I guess they are the only parts that are made in China... Build 10/10 Very simple, but sometimes "challenging". Easy build (: Playability 10/10 The playability is 100% no part of the set is "unplayable". Well, maybe the Brick Separator is the only thing And it is 46/50. I really waited for the better prints on the figures. It kinda disappointed me... But the set is awesome. Every LEGO Batman fan, or just Batman fan should have it. That's pretty much it, tell me what do you think about the set, the review and my photographing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Alex. Ceroknight Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Great review! I'm sorry but can you explain why you think the printings on the heads are horrible? I see nothing wrong with them.. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Thanks for the review 'Alex', this set is at the top of my son's (high up on mine too ) shopping list....funny it's not in the Oz first half catalogue ? Plus I see nothing wrong also with the head printing, just plain AWESOME in my books ! I feel that there for the price more playability in this set....like you can be falling and then it's hammer time ! Bat-brick On Bat-review On ! Quote
AlexScammer Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 Great review! I'm sorry but can you explain why you think the printings on the heads are horrible? I see nothing wrong with them.. It's just when I crop my pictures, I add a little light to them. And it's just... Not all the prints are done badly. Joker's and Harley's faces are totally fine! But the right side of Robin's scared side looks like a spill or something... And Batman and Riddler have those little black dots, which are pretty much spills all over they faces... Thanks. It is nearly the best Batman set ever. Yeah, on the box they are perfectly fine. You have to look closely. This set is much better then the Batcave. So if you will be choosing between this, Battle over Gotham City, and the Batcave, I would take one this one. Thanks. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Nice review! Although Lego sometimes does make mistakes, they usually don't turn out that bad. Quote

CM4Sci Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Wow, great review, AlexScammer! I was excited to receive this on Christmas Eve, and after the build, immediately noticed an error: The brown 1x4 tile on top of the arch in the middle, is green on the box! Wouldve loved an extra green tile....oh well. Never seen so many errors in a set either. -Sci Quote

Huntleyfx Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 An excellent review! I think I might pass on this one, in favor of a slightly more modern (aka Nolan) Batman. Quote
Brickmamba Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 very good and thorough review, will definitely get this when it is released in oz Quote

LegoDad Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Great review. My son and I built this on Christmas Day, and it was an easy, fun build. The characters included are great, and the set has a lot of playability. The structure itself is smaller than I thought it would be, but definitely worth the price. Quote
prateek Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Wow, definitely one of the best Batman sets. You must complain to customer service though; those prints are horrendous! Quote

Did you get the smaller set also? The Catwoman's Chase? I suggest you would. Wow, definitely one of the best Batman sets. You must complain to customer service though; those prints are horrendous! It is and I should complain. Thank you for reminding me about it. This set IS the best one of the new "Super Heroes" series. Looks like it though Ahh! I just tried to write to LEGO Customer Support, and it says that parts are "unable to be replaced"! Edited December 27, 2011 by AlexScammer Quote
Velika314 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I was thinking about purchasing this set, but I wanted to see what other Eurobricks members thought of it first. Now I'm sold. Great review! Quote

CM4Sci Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I am sure they won't spend any time talking to a 14-year-old kid... Aren't you a little young to be on Eurobricks? -Sci Quote

Besides, I am not one of those troll guys, who spam, spam, and spam. I post many MOCs and reviews, so I am a bit helpful (I hope so...) to the forum. Edited December 28, 2011 by AlexScammer Quote

ScaryScarecrow Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 It seriously stinks that your printing was bad and your comic book ripped. I'm not sure if the box has errors or the set has errors, but either way, it's weird. I'm wondering, are the figs made in China? I'm not sure how to tell. Quote
AlexScammer Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Before you do get banned, I say get your parents to call or something. I am pretty sure I won't (get banned of course), because only the kids that are a "threat" for EuroBricks. But I will get my mom to call. Henchmen4Hire Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) Wow, horrible prints, they look like pixelated customs Anyway, thank you for the pictures, this has been very helpful. Edited December 28, 2011 by DrNightmare Quote
