BrickClick Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 is nobody going to comment Its been only one day give us a chance But you have a pretty nice City there. But its far too colourful, I suggest making the buildings one solid colour and giving them roofs. But thats just my opinion. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 (edited) G'day 'danim' - your town is still comming along nicely, the new TV station looks good - very World City like. Keep on building and as always, I'm a conformist! ! Edited June 26, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
danim Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 Hi Everybody I am going to be posting new pics of Bricklingston very soon once a bricklink order comes in as last month I tore apart my cablecar and replaced it with a tram running along the city. Because of this alot of the city has been rebuilt to cater for the rails so at the moment it is in a bit of a mess but once I recive the rest of the track that I have ordered I can build the rest of the city, then post pics. danim Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 Here are the new pics of Bricklingston First up, the police station, the tv station and the coast guard station have been moved around a bit and the presedential compound has now been moved to the location of the coast guard station here you can see the new location of the tv station, because I moved the surf store up I was able to increase the size of the research facility the hospital now takes the location of the police station as well as being enlarged to accomidate an operating theater as well as a dentist here two new toy shops have been built as well as the cable car system being demolised as Bricklingston has obtained an old system from Australia which you will see later here you can see the new location of the police station as well as the regenerated dock A new company decided to move into the old site of the presedential compound, introducing Bricklingston Film Studios, who have purchased the company who operated the mobile stage looking along the main street towards the council site and the airport and here you can see the rebuilt airport, now able to handle larger aircraft and finally the rest of the airport, at the moment Bricklingston Film Studios are setting up the mobile stage for a concert and opening of the Briclingston Tram System Hope you like the updates Quote

lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 You have been busy again I see 'damin', I would be worried about having a servo near that road section with a lava pit in it ! Keep going and Brick On 'damin' ! Quote
jth781 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Interesting layout its nice but would look better with all the same road. Quote
mpec82 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 are you meaning the rocket launcher http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=6775-1 I've seen right then. A crowded and well-defended city. Quote
Night City Dream Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Nice city. Where did you get those unusual road plates and where did yu get that Black water slide? Quote
danim Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 lightningtiger and jth781 the reason for the different road plates is because I have amased the collection over time and whats the point in having road plates if you don't use them mpec82 I attually ripped apart the bomb sqaud and rebuilt it as a truck with the rocket launcher being fitted to any vehicle that requires it, with police backing of course Night City Dream I am unsure of where I got the black slide, I think it was from one of the island stunts range, the road plates I have amased over time, all the grey peices were given to me from my granddads friend who also game me a couple of origional hollow lego bricks and a couple of very old sets. The lava pit plate was from the stephen spielberg studios set Glad all of you like this ever growing city, in fact in the past 3 hours I have added a few small peices to add to the character of the city. Also at some point the tram line will finish in front of the coast guard station, when I get the money to pay for them Quote
romdam Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Just me I guess but I'm not quite getting it. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Nice setup danim! You have one busy city for sure. I noticed, like my city, you are losing the never ending battle against dust That stuff drives me nuts and mine is in its own closet! Took me two weeks to disassemble, clean and reassemble. Anyway keep up the good work. I know the troubles of acquiring matching roadplates. I have none of the ones currently sold by TLG, only the older green or grey. My construction firm, Elemental Construction, is great at laying down grey carpet for roads though Quote
danim Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 regarding the dust issue, I clean it then within an hour it settles back on so I have just given up, to be honest I am not overly bothered if there is some dust on my lego And thanks everybody for the comments Romdam what part of the city are you not getting Quote
romdam Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Well, I'll start with the airport. There is a plane I see that is just a ton of diff colors. The walls as well. I see stairs going to something. One set is black then there is a group of stairs in multi color as well. Quote
danim Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 lack of parts is the simple answer the stairs go to the atc tower Quote
LegoSjaak Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 What do you guys think of the rest of Bricklingston? I think your town should flood for a while, so the dust is washed away, but for the rest i think it is an interesting and creative town!! Greetz, LegoSjaak Quote
danim Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 Here are a couple of pics of the updated Bricklingston Bricklingston STOLPort Jet Road Connery Construction And Parrot Repairs Main Street More Pics to come later Quote
LEGO City Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I can see your City is improving! Also, a little dust-cleaning would help. Quote
danim Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) thanks for the comment, I am actually waiting to take more pics as I have just purchased set 4438 and am bidding on another of set 7635 and would you believe that about 30min before I took the photos I had cleaned the dust of the models Edited January 10, 2012 by danim Quote
Dakar A Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Interesting, Danim. I'm curious, what's with the lava? Nice busy city you've got there, hope to see it expanded in the future! Dakar Quote
Capn Frank Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 thanks for the comment, I am actually waiting to take more pics as I have just purchased set 4438 and am bidding on another of set 7635 and would you believe that about 30min before I took the photos I had cleaned the dust of the models When you take more pictures of your town, are you able to take any pictures that show the entire town or most of it? I like overview images of towns so I can get a better idea what part of the layout changed and for the upcoming Layout Index. Thanks. Quote
danim Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) Hi Phred, unfortunatly due to the city being built round my bed it is really awkward to photograph it as a whole but I have picked the best part of my city and photographed that part as best as I could and this is the photo: Bricklingston Main Street towards airport by danim007, on Flickr Dakar The lava is because I have run out of roadplates and there is no point for that plate to be unused when it can be used as a road Here are some more photos of Bricklingston, I will update the photo of the area where set 4438 Bandits Hideout once I get it but on with the other pics The home of Bricklingston Police Force complete with helipad, dual two car garage, public car park, a section for any large public vehicles such as the bus which has transported a couple of people who were witness in a crime, you also have an area round the back for the other police vehicles as well as an area for the Mobile Command Center Bricklingston Police Station by danim007, on Flickr Bricklingston Docks are the second place for cargo and people to arrive at Bricklingston, On the left side of the docks you have the passanger dock where people can board the cruise ship or ferry, emigration is delt by emigration in the airport. On the right side of the shot you can see the cargo docks which feature the crane for offloading cargo from the MV Lego onto the Bristol LL truck Bricklingston docks by danim007, on Flickr More photos to come tommorow Edited January 10, 2012 by danim Quote
