CorneliusMurdock Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Finally finished my contribution to the community build. This is the scene where Harry and friends get lost on the moving staircases and end up in the Forbidden Corridor. At the end of the hall, Harry follows his friends into the locked room to hide from an approaching Argus Filch. Overall picture. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 This is great! Only, why does Harry have on the plain Hogwarts uniform instead of Gryffindor? Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 This is great! Only, why does Harry have on the plain Hogwarts uniform instead of Gryffindor? Only uniform I had. Quote
Legomaster34 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Oh wow, this looks really great! That Filch looks pretty good too, and I like what you did with the portraits. Is that a gnome I spy in one of them? Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 One of the best entries yet! I love the portrait and the custom Filch. I always like seeing people make MOCs without official minifigures. Quote
SirSven7 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 this is really nice, I love the way the paintings feel so alive and 3d a really clever idea done well Quote
K-Nut Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 It's not a true MOC without a sigfig cameo. Great work! Quote
robuko Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Fantastic! Love the portraits, wonderful interpretation of Filch, and such a great sense of action. Brilliant MOC Quote
operrier Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Wow. Very nice MOC. I love the spiral staircase, the statues and the paintings. Very original. Good job ! Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Great MOC here! I love how you did the picture frames and your nod at your old avatar is awesome! Quote
WhiteFang Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 It's not a true MOC without a sigfig cameo. Great work! I fully agreed. Well done C.M! Very nicely done. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I love the way the paintings feel so alive and 3d Even as a non-HP fan, that is one detail in the films that I really like, and you've done a very good job capturing it convincingly in brickbuild CM! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 Thanks for all the positive comments, guys! The custom Filch was a necessity since I don't have the official fig. It's too bad I don't have Mrs. Norris either. She would have made a great addition to the overall scene. I did play around with brick built cats but none of them worked right. I wasn't so sure I'd be able to pull off the paintings but I was surprised how well it worked. I also couldn't resist putting the gnome in there. Lego needs to make more sleeping faces, too. Quote
The Penguin Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Well, that's a pretty imposing entry! Your view of Hogwarts actually is very close to how I pictured it in my head when reading books. Great idea to use minifigs for paintings and Filch sure amused me quite a bit. Am I the only one who find him really creepy hunting little children in dark lonely corridors at nights? Witha smile like that, I sure would've been scared! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
RPGer Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Beautiful MOC, CM, the pictures make this shine, combined with the amazing stonework and figs, plus the gnome ( ) make this the best entry! Quote
