Superkalle Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 ERRORS: Collision error between parts 30504 and 61409 (Book 1 p15) Very odd that the TLG designer was allowed to use that technique, since it's old news that this is illegal. Part 61483 cannot connect to part (Book 3 p27) It seems to because there is a 2x3 plate above that hinders full connection (in LDD). I've never seen this technqiue before. Looks like a borderline case of being legal or not. Quote
ADHO15 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Very odd that the TLG designer was allowed to use that technique, since it's old news that this is illegal. It seems to because there is a 2x3 plate above that hinders full connection (in LDD). I've never seen this technqiue before. Looks like a borderline case of being legal or not. Why so when it's obviously possible? Is the grill slope too wide? Hmm, I see. You mean the pin goes through the technic plate and the curved slope/bow and collides with the plate stuck on top? There doesn't seem to be room for the wider 'lip' of the pin, such as if you were to put the pin through the technic plate and stick an ordinary plate on top. It shouldn't be allowed. Quote
Superkalle Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Why so when it's obviously possible? Is the grill slope too wide? Hmm, I see. You mean the pin goes through the technic plate and the curved slope/bow and collides with the plate stuck on top? There doesn't seem to be room for the wider 'lip' of the pin, such as if you were to put the pin through the technic plate and stick an ordinary plate on top. It shouldn't be allowed. About the grill slope - it's not wider then any other bricks, but because the hole in a technique bricks i positioned a 10th of a mm above the LEGO standard, it will create a slight, slight bend/missalignment towards the brick above it (the angle plate in this case) and thus it's illegal. TLG designers have not be allowed to use this technique for 4 or 5 years now. It's also partly the reason why the 1x1 brick with stud on the side was developed, because that stud is in fact in System. About the technic plate - actually the central anti-stud of a plate is slightly recessed comparted to the bottom edge, and that's where I thought possibly the lip of the peg could fit. But on second thought I think this recessesion is less then height of the lip. So in my opinion - this is also illegal. Hm, wonder if the the Superhero sets were rushed to the market and did not pass normal model review. EDIT: Forgot to mention. As a workaround, you can place the grill slope (cheese grater) like this 1) Remove the 32000 and both of the 4274 2) Place a 87087 (Brick with one stud on side) 3) Place the grill slope (which will now fit) 4) Remove the 87087 5) Put the 32000 in place. 6) Finally, place the two 4274. legolijntje Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Well, the rules say: Insert a model... - and obviously... Share you lxf file! So, you have to share the lxf. You don't have to use Brickshelf, you can also use for example Dropbox. You can also take a look here, for a tutorial of sharing lxf files using Brickshelf. Quote
Calabar Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 9461 The Swamp Creature (LDD 4.2 - Theme: Monster Fighters) Thanks for the contribution. You should regularize your entry: image is oversized: you should stay inside a 512x512px square. As the set is small, a smaller size is more desirable (a 256/320px wide image is a more adequate size for it). image has horizontal and vertical blank stripes: you have to crop the image before resize it. lxf file missing: share the lxf file is necessary if you want to post a set in this topic. Look at the guide linked by legolijntje if you have any difficulties. I suggest you to read the rules in the first post of this topic. PS: about missing pieces and decorations, it would be better if you would find a replacement for that, if there is any suitable. Similar pieces and brick build solutions are often used by other builders. EDIT: I see you correctly cropped the image, now you should resize it. If you have any difficulties to do that, ask and we'll try to help you. Anyway, as I wrote editing your post, I can't accept the image if you don't share the lxf file. Again, if you have any difficulties... A little thing again. Looking at your screenshot it seems some colours are wrong. For example the legs of the hunter or the body of the creature. I suggest you to check colours using, for example, this table and an inventory like this. Quote

That string spool still collides with 41761 so that will have to be kept out. I switched in 76768 instead and the statues can be placed correctly now. Thanks! Lego Otaku Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Just recently (last few days) LEGO dumped a whole bunch of new instruction manuals in PDF format including most of the new 2012 sets and many older sets not previously available. There were 3 sets that I had never heard of but only one is available to download and others (4000005 and 4000012) gets me 404. Maybe it was listed too soon? There's also 4000001 moulding machine listed but not downloadable either The one new mystery set is the 4000002 LOM Moulding (click to download manual) 4000002 LOM 2011 Moulding - Theme: Miscellaneous [duplicate] Few more pages in the instruction book. You should download and read em. LDD file Errors: no printed tiles: - 1x8 tile with "September 2011" printed - 1x8 tile with "LOM Moulding" printed And before you ask, yes it is British spelling moulding with an u. The instruction book looks like they were made in architecture style with back story on the building (in English and Spanish). I copied the first couple paragraphs below: When the first LOM facility, which included 182 mouldingmachines in the Moulding Department, was completed in 2009, it was expected that it would meet The LEGO Group’s capacity requirements for some years to come. However, sales at The LEGO Group increased so quickly that there was soon talk about expanding. Another building was available next to the first facility, in another industrial park. Based on this building, a new project was started to create a new moulding facility. At the end of 2009, preparations started and the project was approved by The LEGO Group Board of Directors in May 2010. From May to July, a project group was established with representatives from Facility, Engineering and Production. Construction work started on July 14th, 2010 and the first phase of the building was ready for infrastructural fitting in January 2011. From January to September 2011, construction and fitting work continued in parallel. After only 14 months of work, construction ended in September 2011. Quote

Stephan I didn't notice that, I blame broken formatting due to too many links on the first page @Lego Otaku Could you add "indexable" set's data? I need the set data are clear and well highlighted to approve the entry. Added in bold, with ]duplicate] included. I do have an idea about the first page that got broken. How about a new thread that can only be edited by moderator and contains the master list of all sets, and leave this existing thread for user submission? Quote
Calabar Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 @Lego Otaku Thanks! ;) About the index, the problem is due to its extreme length. It seems that the forum is not able to manage posts with more than about 286.000 characters. We are discussion about the best solution, the one you are proposing now has been discussed and it seems it don't like to Superkalle (don't like to me too much too, too many topic to manage this index!), so probably we will try to add some post to split the index in two or more parts.
