Starwars4J Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Apparently, there are 5 solid 14K gold C-3PO pieces, and there is a contest on Lego.com to win one of the 5 pieces. I haven't been able to find the link, but you sound like it's up and working? Quote
Scouty Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 No, it aint working, trust me, I've looked, I just saw that here: That'd be hilarious if one person had all 10,000 C-3PO's and he lined them up in an army :-D !!!!!! Quote
jp-30 Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 So, we all know LEGO uses bag weights to determine that they have the correct pieces in a box. Therefore we've just got to take some accurate scales into the stores, figure out the normal weights of the 2007 lines, and then weigh all the 2007 LEGO boxes on the shelf until we find one with an extra 3PO minifig weight added. Easy! ;-) Quote
Scouty Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Loool, I don't think the manager will take likely to that ;-) . Pointed by jp-30 of another forum, it appears that it's NOT included in 7664 and 7665. From what I can read. ImperialScouts, proud owner of an ILC now *sweet* Quote

'Ahem nothing...nothing just ahem weighing the box' X-D Quote
Starwars4J Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Don't laugh so much, I'm actually considering this idea :-$ Quote
Vader Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Well you aint the only one sw4j ;-) , you know i really think that this is gonna cost TLC a small fortune in returned damaged boxes. Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Indeed, the hunt for our city of Atlantis is starting !! So much excitment for SO LITTLE hope :-D I wonder if the boxes from the month of June (when the hunt officially starts) will have some sort of label !! It will be a good indication on the screwedmeter X-D How many sets are produced btw ?? I would love to see the actual % of chance we have to find a little gold buggar (if all the countries are on equal terms that is) !! OK save for the hunt :-P Gold On !! *yoda* Quote
casewindu Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 A hate when things like this happen! because your really upset when you dont find one. >:-( anyway we might have a chace if no one else knows about these things but they'l probably have stupid adverts saing so! another thing is there is none of the june sets that you will buy more than twice it would be better if they had done this when they brought the battle packs out at because each of us may just have like 6 chances and it would be stupid buying about 50 mtts just for a farting robot! >:-( people who get them will all be american aswell! Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 More thoughts on that tragedy to be :-| First, you can bet that more than 60% of the lucky finders won't really care because they are just small kids who will chew the fig and what have you !! Also, since the distribution is really lousy these days, I wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of the winning sets will be gone in a matter of days !! I knwo i will buy all my sets ASAP !! So bottom line, we are going to be SO screwed >:-( Its just a lousy strategy to make more sells on real fans expenses !! G, throw that fig in a real expensive set as a bonus !! Why can't TLC put C3 in the UCS Falcon anyhow :-| Hunt ON !! *yoda* Quote
Vader Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Yeah alot of kids are likely to get their grubby paws on this beauty... :'-( , gezz i just wish lego would release a golden c3p0 for us to buy instead of all this willy wonka crap. >:-( Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 gezz i just wish lego would release a golden c3p0 for us to buy instead of all this willy wonka crap. >:-( loooool !! At least there are more golden C3POs than golden tickets :-D *yoda* Quote
snefroe Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 don't you just love these Lego marketeers? :-| first, they refuse to give us female minifigs, then they refuse to give us non-profitable City sets and now they're turning Lego into lottery... :-X If you consider the fact that Lego Belgium alone sells more than a million Lego sets a year, and you can bet quite a lot is sw, then 10.000 figs worldwide is really not a lot... Quote
Vader Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 The odds on landing a golden c3p0 has to be extremley low and whats the bet that someone gets more than 1 >:-( Quote
Scouty Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 The chance of winning a solid gold 14K C-3PO must be uber low as well. 5 Willy Wonka TIckets, 5 Golden 3PO's ...Al this considering he is sometimes anoyying (but we all adore him) character in SW. Jar-Jar on the other hand, people will smush him and just sell it as gold :-D . Quote

Norrington Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 YOu know, the last SW sets i bought were Anakain's JSF and General Greivous chase (I know you are all going to yell heresy... I know it...) *hides behind a rock*. Ane-who I think this might get me to buy a few more SW sets, (I've mainly resisted because of Fleshies). And I now forsee a small adventure where the Imperial Soldiers stumble apon a Gold Aztec idol in their voyage to Eldorado Fortress... He he he... :-P Quote

Norrington Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Do the new style boxes even have glue? No, they have tape on the outside... Making it much easier to check the inside of th boxes for C-3po unnoticed... Heh he heh... Quote
