Vindicare Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Oh wow, great update! Looking good. That's a lot of stairs.
Palathadric Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Wow! I didn't see that tower coming, but what a fantastic idea it is. Excellent technique too! I like the slopes sandwiched between the walls.
The Blue Brick Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Great update indeed. Once again, I love the enormity of this project and hope to see future updates in the near future.
soccerkid6 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Great work on the tower This whole project is quite stunning
KotZ Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Your work is amazing, it really is. Everything is so beautiful, and detailed. I can't wait to see when it is finished! I love the cliff design the most I think.
natesroom Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Mayday if at all possible could you show me and others how you did the Tree Base with the 1x2 Log bricks? I have been trying and i can figure it out. I started a seperete thread but i think its wiser to ask here.

Hey no problem, but it is already shown in this thread on page 5 ;) And here is the picture once more: If you need other details let me know. Btw: The trees are now full of leaves and look more realisitc. First, the old version and then the new one Once again Mayday if at all possible could you show me and others how you did the Tree Base with the 1x2 Log bricks? I have been trying and i can figure it out. I started a seperete thread but i think its wiser to ask here. Ah ok natesroom, now I have read your helpthread for your tree building problem. And you have already see this picture. Alright, I will give you some pictures with more details. But I need a few minutes to build a new trunk and make the shots. please be patient Phil Edited June 18, 2012 by maydayartist
Matn Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Great to see new progress pictures, maydayartist! Good start on the tower and that archway looks pretty nice. Those trees with more leaves are a nice improvement. I can't wait to see more, very inspirational!
maydayartist Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 This is a little how to do for the tree trunk. The first is step by step and the second the trunk devided in six pieces which can be connected in the sequence shown.
natesroom Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 ahhh!!! that's perfect i totally see what you did there wow... way easier but complex then i first thought. Thanks for taking time to show this.
Legonardo Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Thanks for the tutorial, It's Great! ~Legonardo~ *rushes to the lego to try it out*
lego_legis_legere Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Wow... Really impressive. I notice an old plate (from 80's pirate sets) with an island in the middle : that's a good idea.
Palathadric Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Wow! I didn't realize that was how you made the trees. Very interesting.

I got about 1,000 of those log pieces off my nearby Lego Store's PAB wall. Now all I need is some more greenery... I took the time to see every post mayday. I can't wait to see it when its done! maydayartist Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 Here is one next step for my castle. Only the small edge is on studline. Much work for those little details. Hope such a detail won't get down when all is done. We will see. Enjoy
KotZ Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I love it even more. It is beautiful to see how you adapted the castle to the landscape. The details just make it even better.
Palathadric Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Looking fantastic, but I'd like to see it from a different angle to it more from the side and how it looks like that.
maydayartist Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 Looking fantastic, but I'd like to see it from a different angle to it more from the side and how it looks like that. Backside is ok? I have now changed the angle wall from the last picture to a smaller octagonal tower. The door is functional as always.
KristofBD Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Love that octagonal tower! Great how you hide the gaps by using the 2x1 tiles!
Flobnomdob Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 This thing is massive! A single building on this is probably larger than my entire parts collection! I love how the octagonal towers are coming along. About how tall do you plan to build the castle? (looking up) Also, nice use o those new flat round studs. They add a lot to the cobblestone floor. Now I must get some!
soccerkid6 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 The functional door looks great! the arrow slit in the wall is very accurate too
Niku Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 That castle shows a lot of promise, keep the excellent work. This photo looks like one of Lego very own 80s catalog.
gedren_y Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) Do I spy a use of the Brickarms u-clip technique to create the vent flaps on the red and white tent, or is it a use of the corner panel technique? That gives me some ideas. Well then, back to building. Edited June 24, 2012 by gedren_y
Dr Leg O Brick Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Amazing I must say. I have watched this topic since the begining and look foward to seeing it finished. You have given me a lot of ideas to add to my tiny castle layout. Good luck in completeing this masterpiece.
